We went here because the food reviews were great. It was actually kind of gross. It could be what we ordered, but it was gross. We started with some chips and salsa (cheap and fast), I was hi dry! which to me you can't go wrong; but oh did they! It's almost like they put the chips in the oven to warm them, they were practically burnt. And the salsa tasted like it came out of a can. I got the cod Ruben which sounded very interesting and my boyfriend got the meatloaf special with vegetables of the day. Turns out the vegetables were canned peas. Gross! His Mashed potatoes tasted like they had four sticks of butter in them and the meatloaf was ok. My Ruben on the other hand practically gave me a heart attack. Doused in butter and the coleslaw was sweet and gross. I ended up just eating the fish out of it and left the rest . I got the sweet potato fries instead of regular fries and they were OK. A little on the greasy side. Nothing special and we most likely won't go back. The service was great! Our waitress was very nice as was the hostess. Just not the food we expected. Love this place and have been coming here for years. I don't know what is happening lately but the staff is not what it used to be. A couple of the bartenders are very unfriendly and act like it is an imposition to wait on us. (Lindsey for one) Sorry to say if some changes are not made we might have to find a new hangout. This was my first & last time visiting this establishment in Mashpee. I ordered scallops w/ onion strings. The scallops were not good & very small & the onion strings were very greasy. The only thing that tasted ok was the cole slaw & I didn't even eat that. I will give it a 2 star because the waitress was awesome. read more

Sit near the server's station at the bar so you can hear them talk sh-t about their customers (and wonder what they say about you when you're not listening). Food is okay nothing special. Place is always crowded which is unfortunate since they simply can't deal with a crowd. They stop seating people when the kitchen gets backed up even if there are free tables in the dining room. My family has been going to Bobby Burne's since before I new how to say Clam Chowder. Back in the day, I would have given 5 stars for that chowdah alone. My sister and I once bought 2 thermoses at CVS just to bring back enough of it for everyone for dinner. I think the recipe may have been slightly altered since then, though. It's still really good, but not the mind-blowingly amazing chowder it once was. The service is quick and friendly and the bar area is comfortable with many barstools and several booths & tables. They also have a decent wine & beer selection. My only complaint is that they have a rather cheap Prosecco and that's my drink of choice. Oh well, on a brighter note, I can always walk to Bleu or The Lanes if I want a better sparkling wine. I went here on Sunday afternoon with a couple of friends. The service was terrible and so was the food. We ordered nachos as an appetizer and they arrived very dry (chips were burned and so was the cheese). I let the waitress know and she looked at me and said "sorry'. No offer of making me a new batch or anything. Service was very slow and she was difficult to flag down. I ordered shrimp and scallop piccata over linguini and the sauce was very oily. My friends, who ordered steak tips and fish tacos were not satisfied either and opted not to take the leftovers (and there was a lot of food left over). No manager came by our table or anything. Went to Bobby Byrne's with some out of town guests on Saturday night, and was so pleased w/ the experience. They estimated that it would be a 45 minute wait, and we were pleasantly surprised when they told us less than 10 minutes later, that the wait was shorter than expected and they were ready to seat us! The hostess was very polite and friendly, and the food exceeded our expectations. The Baked Stuffed Haddock with Newburg sauce was absolutely delectable... several members of our party ordered it and could not stop raving about it! Another thing I like about this place is that they take down your cell # so that you can walk around Mashpee Commons' shops while you wait to be seated, and then they call you in when ready. This beats the heck out of those buzzers that confine you to a 10 foot radius of the restaurant! read more

Having had a large lunch earlier in the day, we were looking for something light and we found it at Bobby Byrnes. All three of us chose salads -- one a small Spinach salad, another a Beet and Mandarin salad and the last an Apple Walnut (Chicken) Salad. Was there last week for an after movie dinner. I had the combination barbequed tenderloin tips and chicken breast dish that was great. The grilled onions and rice were equally unique and not the usual bland side dish that some restutrants provide. My date had a blood orange margarita to start, and then the broccoli chicken alfredo dish and since she has a gluten issue, they gladly substituted mashed potatoes for the pasta, without rolling their eyes.
