We just moved to Onaway about a week ago and tried Bobby B's because we heard it was the "best pizza in Onaway". We were pleasantly surprised and agree...it's fantastic!! Coming from Kansas, where we had many pizza places we were skeptical, but we walked in and ordered one afternoon and talked to Bobby while we waited for our pizza. He makes his own dough, hand stretches it and yes, tosses it in the air. He has a variety of toppings including green olives!! We loved that he puts a ton of freshly shredded WI cheese on it!!! Bobby doesn't skimp on toppings!!! After he put the pizza in the oven he told us a little history of our new town, greeted his customers by name when they came in to pick up their orders and pulled out the most amazing smelling pie for us in under 30 min. He asked if we wanted the crust brushed with garlic butter so it would taste like breadsticks - YUM!! I even ate the crust and I hardly ever do!! It was crispy and delicious!! This place was once a cute little shop with arcade games and two pool tables. A typical old school pizza place Sadly, it's carry out only since Covid and Bobby only has a part time helper on weekends so be sure to place orders early or you will have an extensive wait!! He opens at 4pm. Don't miss out on deliciousness when you're in driving distance of Onaway!! This one is a hidden gem!!! I've been wanting to try this place, after reading favorable reviews. Ordered at exactly 4pm (time they open) and was quoted 40 minutes. Cost for large with one item was $20 and I came prepared with cash, as others stated they don't take anything but. Not sure how that price compares to market. Pizza was ok. Crust was a bit overdone for my taste. Flavor was good. Cheese was solid. I would return if passing through Onaway, but likely won't drive 20 minutes, but would likely stick with the pizza place 2 minutes from home. read more

Bobby B's was busy on a pleasant September Saturday eveving. We ordered around 5:30pm and wait was 1.5 hrs. Good to see this business busy! We ordered a couple pizzas and chessy bread for our meal. I enoyed the crust as it had a bit of a light crunch to it. I hate soggy dough and this pie had a a nice texture. A+ on the crust. We felt the pizza was a little bland, however. We all agreed the pies were missing seasoning. My beef (beef, onion, mushroom) was lacking any taste. That was a complete miss. The sauce didn't have too much going on, either. Just average pizza overall. The chessy bread might have been a 3.5, but overall, this was 3 star pizza. It will suffice when you're needing pizza, but in our opinion, it won't knock your socks off. Pricing was reasonable. About what I would expect for a couple large pizzas. read more

Out of towner and first time visiting on a recommendation of a local. We ordered a ham, bacon, & mushroom pizza. service was good and the owner is friendly. Ambiance is not fancy, they only offer takeout & cash only. But pizza was delicious and will make sure to order again whenever we come to town. read more

Delicious handmade pizza with lots of topping options. He also has yummy sandwiches! You can't eat in there anymore because he closed the dining room and the arcade, but you can either go in and order or call and order. He doesn't deliver, either, so you have to pick it up, but it's worth it. read more

This was a delicious pie. We were forced to drive the 25 mins from our house as it was the only pizza place open between Onaway and Mackinaw City (no, Little Caesar's is not pizza). I met Bob, the owner. He is a very humble man, but he assured me this is the best pizza in the area. He, alone, has been making every pizza since the mid 80's and has perfected the process and ingredients. If you have eaten a pizza from Bobby B's 20-30 yrs ago, you're going to be eating a pizza made the same way, today. I highly recommend ordering and eating Bobby B's pizza. read more

Great find thank to Yelp! We order a pizza and cheesy breadsticks on our way into Onaway State Park. Both were delicious. The crust is perfect- thick, chewy, flavored perfectly with butter and garlic. The cheesy bread had the right amount of cheese and garlic! We really liked the dipping pizza sauce! Highly recommend! Cash or check only. Was surprised by this but had cash so no biggie. Just be prepared! read more

Bobby sticks to what he does well and he just makes a damn good pizza. He has two sizes of pizza: 16" and 12" (or large and small). He cooks the pizzas in an older fashioned oven which gives the bottom of the pizza a nice crunch. Bobby's pizzas all come with generous toppings and his cheese is delicious. It's well worth it to stop by there for a pizza pie. read more

I was at Black Lake for a UAW Leadership Conference in April and I ventured into town after the day's activities were through, and I saw Bobby B.'s and, being a pizza enthusiast/connoisseur (TRUST me), it just looked like "one of those places." I popped in and ordered my personal favorite: pepperoni, bacon, and onion. I went next door to a thrift/antique store and noodled for 20 minutes or so, then went back to pick up my pie, and OHHHH, SHIT!! was I not disappointed. This pie was one of the best I have ever had, and that's not hyperbole. There are multiple styles of pie: New York Authentic, Detroit-style (Buddy's, #1), Chicago-style (meh), and "traditional", which I consider "Mom-and-Pop" places to be. The opportunity to go to Black Lake doesn't present itself often, but you can bet your ass that the next time I'm fortunate enough to go back, or find myself "Up North" for whatever reason, I will absolutely be headed back to Bobby B.'s. 5-Star. read more

We were a hungry family of 7 in search of a good pizza place after visiting the Ocqueoc Falls and were all so glad we went to Bobby B's. Simple casual setup with just a few dine-in tables but don't let that scare you because the pizza was amazing and the owner operator couldn't be friendlier.
