Sinful, with berry pieces in it. I kidded with Joe, the owner (see the photos) that his store looks like an escapee from Scottsdale, without Scottsdale prices. He laughed. There are so many other fun things you can buy there. Joe's so incredibly friendly, and he gave me a sample to try. There's more seating, lots of it, than the pictures imply. It's all beautifully decorated, so you'll enjoy the experience for more than just the gelato. Wherever you dine in the Buckeye area, leave room and stop over at The Gelato Tavern for a fun and incredibly tasty experience! And go next door to Barbon Asadero for a wonderful Mexican lunch or dinner. We dined there first, and had gelato for dessert. As I said, leave room for a gelato dessert wherever you dine!

Such a charming, beautiful shop, the owner was so nice and welcoming and gave us samples to try! I love that they have a mini size, it was perfect for me! The one scoop size was very generous! I had the pistachio and it was heavenly, I love that there was no food coloring or anything artificial and with real chunks of pistachio! It really tasted homemade and not too sweet! The blood orange and the mango were so refreshing! The shop has a super comfy couch area perfect for the kids who enjoyed playing jenga while having their gelato! If it wasn't so late I would have been all over the coffee, it smelled soooo good!

It happened to be a little under twenty minutes away from us so we decided let's do it & they were open late. Hell yeah. There's not a crazy amount of pastries but the selection was great. We got two tiramisus, one vanilla custard lobster tail, some mini cannolis, & the wedding cookies. Everything came out to about $50 so beware, prices aren't exactly cheap. But for one, if you're going to do "bad" then do it right & we also shared with our family of 5 so plenty to go around. & Holy cow, everything was incredible. So indulgent, decadent & rich in flavor. My nephews liked the cannolis, personally they're not my favorite, but if you're into it the mini's are a great option to quench the craving. The lobster tail with the vanilla custard took me by surprise. I didn't think I was going to care for it, but the cold custard was refreshing & the flakiness of the bread was crazy, my taster buds were confused by the textures, but in the best way. They complemented each other well. My ultimate favorite was the tiramisu & the wedding cookies. I honestly wish I had gotten more of the wedding cookies, those things took me back. I grew up eating the Mexican ones & the Italians did it right *applause* But damn, the tiramisu was to die for. I would order that again & again. Perfectly chilled, the dusting of the cocoa powder didn't taste like nesquik--incredible. At first the price had me thinking if we were doing too much, like damn, should we have just gone to Sprouts bakery? But after being able to indulge in a great quality dessert, it was worth every dollar. My only feedback, careful when you're paying at the register. If you're not paying attention, the tip automatically defaults to 18% on the tablet. Only thing I didn't care for. I could see if I was eating at the restaurant, but I just popped in to take pastries to go. So, that was kind of annoying. The service was fine, the girl that helped me was nice, but again I just pointed at desserts I wanted & went home. The location is part of the main restaurant, but it has its own entrance & little room making it feel separate to the Sicilian Butcher. They also carry gelato which I haven't tried yet. I believe they have little tables to sit at also. Highly recommend checking this out so save room for dessert!

I finally got the one that is daily up for grans, and I was so excited! My sister and I can't figure out why there's only one bag per day, but it's very coveted so we were excited to see what was actually inside! We walked in to the bakery with the intention of ordering more treats, in addition to what was in the too good to go surprise. When we walked in, it was 10:05, and they closed at 10:30. They had already put away half of their gelato and baked goods in the cabinet. I understand closing time is at 10:30, but if you still have almost half an hour left, I'm sure there are customers that are gonna come in and buy things. There were three parties of people that walked in while we were in there and then sitting out on the really nice patio. There is a little bit of seating inside, but the patio was very nice and there was plenty of seating out there too. The vibe is super cute, and I love the decor. Hopefully next time we go back, we can actually try things because they won't be put away!

While in mid sentence, our chatter was broken by an employee offering a tiny spoon of ice cream. This review is post COVID, and the sample idea while a great model for their business might not be so great for the virus. As we stepped up now to the little kiosk in the middle of the mall, lure hooked us in. We are not here for the gelato, but for the macaroons. The selection of macaroons is good, not great. The girl that aided us in picking out our macaroons was not as friendly as I'm used to dealing with when spending money. I'm not the one to judge so, we picked out an assortment and paid. The whole process of ordering was pretty painless. The only complaint was the macaroons she was trying to sell me were broken; and I had to specify on many occasions that we wanted macaroons that were intact. Aside from a little drama we got macaroons and we were not even looking for some. If you want some gelato this seems to be the place to try it out before you buy it. I cannot speak on behalf of the gelato, but the macaroons were decent. They were not great, but when you have to keep specifying that you want unbroken cookies; you see my point. We ended up with at least a half dozen that were not broken, even after asking and asking for macaroons that were not broken. This sounds redundant and broken; but when a macaroon cost more around $2 each it better be at least presentable. Let's extend an A for effort. Kindness keeps the world working. With all of the nonsense in life everyday we're not going to cry over broken cookies. The macaroons that were intact were good and it's the memories that we created that we will remember. Life is that balance between all of us. Let's wish joy and bliss to the crew here. The owner was actually working during our visit. We did not have direct contact with the gentleman but he nodded at us and extended a polite message after we walked away. After two or three visits here over the past couple months, I have noticed employees that have come and gone. The only constant here, is the gentleman that smiles the most and greets multiple customers at a time. Yesterday, one of the twins wanted ice cream, plus macaroons can never hurt. We made it an afternoon with macaroons and gelato. The owner made sure that all the macaroons were not broken. I did not even have to mention anything either. Let's celebrate the simple things in life, and take them as they come.

Prices are posted nowhere. He made sure to keep my daughter busy in conversation about her gelato while he quickly took my card and ran it without letting me know how much it would cost. Way too expensive!!!!! This stand is located across from one of my favorite stores which is unfortunate because I cringe a bit every time I walk past and have to wave off the incessant owner. Unfortunate that someone has to run a business this way. It makes for an unpleasant visit to an otherwise excellent shopping mall.
