The place is cute but has a very strange/undesirable smell as you walk in. This is the 3rd time I come here so I thought I'd leave my opinion for anyone that cares to read. I got the honeydew milk tea and I thought it was good a little on the sweet side but that probably because at my normal place I get it with black tea (this place didn't offer an option). My sister and I went to Bobalicious today and when we arrived we knew immediately what we were going to order. There were no customers in line just us. The rest were waiting for their drinks. There was only one girl making everybody's drinks and no body helped us out. A guy came out of the back and just walked around and went back in. They both saw us and yet no one talked to us. We waited there for somebody to take our order for like 6 minutes. The girl finally acknowledged us and just told us they were out of boba. We left because thats what we went to buy. My fiancé got a milk tea they're best seller Okinawa I believe is what it was called. That was yummy! They can make recommendations upon request which is super helpful when trying a new place. We drove way out of our way to try this place today. It's really nothing special. First of all, customer service is lacking here. The girl who took our order hardly really spoke to us at all. Thankfully she at least read our order back to us, so we knew she got it right. There was no "your order will be ready in about 15 minutes" or "thank you" or anything really... We ordered 3 rolled ice creams and 2 hot Cheeto elotes. The elotes were ready first. The person who put them up on the counter when they were ready had a crappy look on her face and didn't say you're welcome when I thanked her. Rude. The rolled ice creams finally came out and they were super cute. They photograph well.. and that's about it. There's nothing special about rolled ice cream other than it being cute. It just tasted like regular ole ice cream. The blueberry macaroon was very good, I'll give them that. Water is .50 if you want it and be prepared to wait some more for it... I have no idea why a simple water took 7 minutes..... Not a single employee had a smile on their face. Now, here's the part that's a deal breaker for me. I had read in other reviews that they didn't have soap in the restroom. I figured, maybe they were just out. Nope. There is no soap in the restroom. And it is a shared employee and customer restroom. I saw an employee use that restroom while we were there. So, if they even washed their hands at all... they definitely did not use soap... and went straight back into the kitchen to prepare food. Barf.... The place is the definition of a dressed up turd. It is clearly dirty, but they slapped some paint on the walls and put some cute decor up... It's still dirty though.... Disappointed. The store it's extremely empty. There's hardly any signs to show what the options arena no pricing listed either. The display of boba options in jars on the front counter were so old and basically looked like old jello and no longer looked like the flavors. There was no other list of boba options anywhere. It wasn't really busy when we arrived. But it took way to long to make 3 drinks. Idk the drinks were decent. But the boba in my friends drink were a giant blob in her cup, So the boba was old and hadn't be made recently it shouldn't be stuck together... it was a mediocre experience. I always come here and order the same thing, 2 or 3 milk teas so not an extremely difficult order. And every single time, the workers have the worst attitude. So like I said didn't really care until today when I asked one of the girls a simple question and she answered so rudely and heavy attitude in her tone. Really upsetting because they never greet customers and they seem super irritated all the time. After my girlfriends constant hint at her interest in this place we finally stopped in and it's safe to say we've found our (her) new spot. This is a cool new find for the summer months. They have the best blended Mango nadas and ice pan rolled ice-cream. My only concern is that their restroom has no hand washing soap. I saw some green dish soap under the sink in the corner. I would feel better if they had an a working soap dispenser for employees and patrons in their restroom. Went here for a stop after a long camping trip. I had to do my quick boba fix. Employees here are awesome, ask the lady what she recommend and what's the best seller and she sound like she knows what she's talking about. The drink she recommend was great and the hot cheeto corn was bomb! I also got a pre-package beef jerkey which is also good. This place has a lot to offer. It's giving this place a 2 out of five. The drink we ordered was a Taro slush with regular boba and it was watered down so the flavor was not all there. We also ordered the banana crepe, macaroons, and a hot Cheeto elote. The baña crepe was a pre-made crepe with about one and a half table spoons of Nutella in a taco sized crepe and half a banana thinly sliced on top with a dab of whipped cream on the side. It was not satisfying and definitely not with the $5 price. The crepe was see through and just bad all around. The macaroons were ok, as expected. The hot cheeto elite was the best part of the whole thing. Even though I ordered it with light mayo it was covered in a thick slather of mayo. It was also served cold which is not typically what you'd expect but the flavor was good. The staff here was ready nice but two costumes were charged incorrectly while we sad and had our desserts. We stopped here for boba on our way home just to take a break from the long drive, and I honestly wasn't expecting too much from this place in the middle of Modesto.. but it was surprisingly not bad at all! They had a variety of flavors for their milk teas and smoothies. It was strange how small their menu was though, on tiny photo frame-sized flyers on the counter...maybe they're still working on that. I asked what the "Nagasaki" milk tea tasted like, assuming it must be in the same "flavor family" as the Hokkaido and Okinawa milk teas popularly seen in other shops. The guy told me he honestly has never tried it. Even if you haven't tried it, you should probably know what the flavor is at least... our drinks came out and mine was without boba despite paying for it, so I went back to the counter and he said that I did not order it. He checked the receipt again and apologized and made my drink again, and even let us keep the first one without boba. The Nagasaki milk tea tasted really good! The boba itself wasn't the best but I did enjoy the flavor of the milk tea. It's not as sweet as your typical Hokkaido or Okinawa but still has hints of those flavors. The watermelon milk tea was also really good - although you can tell it's artificial flavor, it was pretty good and not too artificially sweet. read more
