One of the best places to get milk tea! I got the jasmine milk tea with sea salt foam and pudding and it was absolutely delicious! Not overwhelmingly sweet with such floral tea notes. I also got to try the matcha frappe and it tasted like real genuine matcha. I hear great things about their Hong Kong milk tea so I might give that one a try next time but this place is definitely in my top 10 boba places I just wish we had a location closer to home! read more

When I walked in, a girl behind the counter looked at me as if I was lost, lol not the good kind too. So they have a lot of options on their and I had to sit down while I worked through my confusion so I guess maybe I did end up getting lost after all. In the end I couldn't make up my mind so I got 2 drinks (judge me :D ) plus the stuffed chicken wing. Got a mango smoothie w/ boba and an almond milk tea w/ pudding and they were both really good especially after I got over my texture issues with the pudding. The stuffed wing reminded me of one I had tried at the fair that had rice in it but this one was almost as good. Also I do have to note that this place looks super clean. Definitely will be going be back here to try out a lot of the things on that menu. read more

This is my favorite boba so far. Some places the tea base is not very nice, not here. We go here at least once a week because it's truly the best. There are tons of flavors and additions you can add to your drink. It's very clean and everyone is super friendly. It's also right next to a dessert place so you can stop in and get both. They have a rewards program and it's nice getting free and discounted drinks from it. My favorite drink is the passion fruit tea, yum. read more

This is definitely my go-to boba place anytime I'm in the Richardson area! First of all, make sure you're a part of their rewards program so you can get a free, any-size drink every 10th drink. You can either use a rewards card or just give them your phone number, and sometimes they also send you a 50% off coupon to come by if you haven't checked in for a few weeks. They have a big table with outlets, regular tables for small groups, and bar seating. Their menu holds coffee, tea, milk tea, smoothies, slushies, and special concoctions deemed "Premium Drinks" boasting names such as "Strawberry Cheesecake". They offer skim, almond, and soy milk and you can customize your sweetness. They even offer slices of pie from Emporium Pie! I always get a regular mango fusion green tea, 75% sweet, light ice, and boba. In the years I have been coming year, there have only been a handful of times where they've either messed up or my drink hasn't been up to par. The boba is almost always sweet and the perfect consistency, which is a big reason why I keep coming back. If you're a fan of boba and haven't stopped in at Boba Latte, you should definitely try it! The worst part is the tiny parking lot they share with a few other businesses, so if you can't find parking you can try behind the store by the Indo-Pak supermarket. read more

12/1/16 still on my quest for delicious lavender milk tea and this place had no lavender in sight. I enjoyed the experience though.. very clean, a young staff, and good music playing. it appears they just settled into a new space (out dated boba latte sign up on the vacant and under construction space next door). I ordered a strawberry slush with mango jelly as is, and it wasn't overly sweet but I'd probably get it 75% sweetness next time. their coffee drink menu is my motivation to come back and try something new. 12/22/17 worst taro milk tea ever. I don't know if it was because the people working were new, or if it was because they were busy, but if I weren't in a rush I would have gone back inside for a refund/remake of something else. it was gritty, like the artificial taro powder wasn't sifted in or shaken up. and the tea overall had a watery and diluted consistency. I ended up pouring the drink out and eating some of the tapioca pearls before I tossed the cup entirely. I would never order that again. read more

I knew this was Alison L's favorite boba place, so I probably wasn't going to dislike anything. The surprise was discovering my half-sweet black milk tea was the best boba I've ever had. I enjoy a double-take moment. I really do know more about rocket science than good boba, but I think this place nails it: I was aware of each distinct component - pungent tea, creamy milk, chewy tapioca - and the sum of these parts that reached the stars to find the Milky Way. I seriously exclaimed, "Damn!" The people behind the counter looked at me funny. If life can sometimes feel like discordant notes, Boba Latte is a major ninth. Play it, Sam. That's as good as it gets. read more

Boba Latte - One more thing I can check off the list. This really is a superb semi-sweet Black Milk Boba Tea. - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Richardson, Texas

Boba Latte makes their drinks extra extra sweet. You can ask for regular, semi-sweet, and unsweet. I usually ask for mine quarter-sweet. I like this place for the mini pearls. They really just make me happy. The store itself is small and doesn't have much seating, so it's more of an on-the-go place. read more

Boba Latte is a boba/drink place next to First Chinese BBQ in Richardson that serves up boba drinks, coffee, smoothies, & teas that are traditionally served at boba drink places. It's a quality place that is consistent but not necessarily unique. My Overall Rating - 3 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Boba Latte is tucked in a shopping strip, and one thing it lacks is seating. There's one small table and some bar stools. You'll find a number of items to read, games to play, but the real shame is there's not much room to sit and enjoy it. It's nice to have a place to sit, relax, and enjoy that customer beverage so I wish it were bigger with more seating. 1/2 Star. Service - Nothing major here either way. The staff is young, friendly, and keep the line moving. At times it has taken awhile to get drinks made, but you can't rush a custom drink. When I compare it to Fat Straws or Bobaland. 1/2 Stars. Food - The drinks are quality but lean towards the sweet side (if you like that). The Thai Iced Tea with my boba is my go to drink and Boba Latte does a good job. Also, their boba is cooked perfectly. Some places under cook them so the inside are too chewy but not here. Also, like most places you can also order jellies in your drink. But for me it boils down to how I think it compares to Fat Straws and Bobaland. Honestly I like the other two better. Fat Straws for their fresh slushes and Bobaland for its coffee drink. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. Boba Latte serves quality boba drinks and is an automatic stop each time I visit First Chinese BBQ. One of the better drink places in DFW. 1 Star. My Yelp Rating Scale (Sum of all parts): 1 Star - Atmosphere - Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I'll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star - Service - You can have a great meal with bad service. But that's also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It's important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars - Food - I'll award up to two stars for the food, since this is the main reason we dine out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it's really all about the food. 1 Star - Will I come back? - If I know for a fact I'll return, I'll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food (2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Yelp score. read more

Little boba shop next to first Chinese bbq. Convenient. But why does this place smells like sewer every time I walk in here. It's so dark and sketchy in here. I usually just order and hurry and leave. I hate staying here. Hate the environment. Last time I tried the hot green tea and it is way too sweet. The flavor is there but it is way too sweet. I don't think I will come back here again by myself. read more

Boba Latte - Cute sticker - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Richardson, Texas

Boba latte has been here for a while and it stands as the default dessert/ boba place. Environment: the place is super small, so expect to go in and out. It does get crowded their quite often, and there are not enough seats. Typically Asians (generally) like to loiter and enjoy each other's company and conversations, however Boba Latte is not the ideal place to go mainly because it's not big enough (Asians also travel in packs lol). They play upbeat music, and their décor is contemporary. Boba & Drinks: I have a regulate/default drink that I get here- Taro Milk Tea with lychee jelly. I really enjoy the jellys that they have here, the boba is okay, not the best I've ever had; but satisfactory. I would say that my drink tends to be somewhat powdery and could be overwhelming sometimes when drinkning it for long periods of time. My sister gets the HK milk tea (sometimes its not sweet enough) and I've also tried the Jasmine Milk Tea which is pretty good here. Service: for the longest time I knew like everyone who worked here (so this is kinda subjective) but they are all very young, and patient; ready to take your order. They also have a 'stars' system where if you buy 10 drinks the next one is free . Overall, I would recommend this place, if you're just coming for boba and getting it for togo! read more

Before you all gasp at my two-star rating of Boba Latte, I want to remind you of the official Yelp description of a two-star rating: "Meh. I've experienced better." That's not to say that Boba Latte was terrible. If this is the best boba I can get in Dallas, I'll make do. However, compared to my beloved boba place in the Bay Area (where they import all their ingredients from Taiwan and know special tricks to make each cup PERFECT), I have to say that you Boba Latte fans just don't know what you're missing. Compared to Fat Straws, Boba Latte is miles better. For starters, Boba Latte has tons more flavors. I scanned the menu and was pleased to see many authentic flavors such as taro and lychee. Then, as we were ordering, I suddenly became aware of an absolutely putrid smell. It literally smelled like sewage. Then I realized that durian was on the menu as one of the flavors. That was shocking enough in itself; I nearly died when I realized that the guy two people in front of me had actually ORDERED it. Ewwww!! haha...sorry to all you durian fans out there. Yes, all three of you. Anyway, relieved that the store was perfectly hygenic and not actually sitting on a leaking sewage system, I placed my order and then stood by the counter watching with eagle eyes to see how they made their drinks. There were a ton of syrup bottles behind the counter, but I was pleased to see that two avocado smoothies were being made with real avocado. In my fascination with watching that, I missed seeing whether my taro milk tea was made with powder or syrup or what, but it tasted like powder (not in a bad way, but there weren't any bits of taro floating around, which is usually what you find when they actually make it with real taro). Sooo that brings me to my complaints with Boba Latte. I watched the girl behind the counter pour my drink into the cup. It filled -- I kid you not -- less than half the cup. Then she dumped some pearls in (a skimpy portion, especially considering that the pearls were strangely small compared to the boba I've had everywhere else). Of course, this was still not enough to fill the cup, so she then loaded in about half a cup of ice. Great. This meant that, even despite the skimpy spoonful of pearls at the bottom of my cup, I ran out of tea before I ran out of pearls. There's NO excuse for a boba shop to not know how to make enough liquid for a single cup. That's just taking advantage of your customers. The flavor itself? WAY too sweet. I guess I should have been scared when I saw a girl making someone else's drink by opening about ten Splenda packets and dumping them in. Um, what?!??! My drink was supposed to be "normal" sweetness, but it was so sickeningly sweet that I literally felt ill after drinking about half of it. That's NOT what boba should be. The pearls? They had probably been cooked that morning and left to sit all day. I've made countless batches of pearls myself, so I know how they change over the course of a few hours. The ones at Boba Latte were fine with the first few sips, but after a few minutes in the drink, they started getting hard in the middle. That's what happens with pearls that are too old. Pearls should be cooked every few hours at LEAST, and the old ones should be thrown out even if they still look and feel okay. Due to the ridiculous sweetness of the drink itself, I couldn't even tell how well the pearls were soaked (in honey). I'm hoping that the liquid I saw them soaking in was honey and not just water, but it was really impossible to tell by taste alone. My friend got a regular milk tea, and his was also WAY too sweet. He also had the same problem with too little liquid, excessive amounts of ice, and pearls that got hard fast. {sigh} Next stop: Tapioca House. You're my only hope! read more

Damn it. Yelp glitch deleted the older review. QQ" [Review from 07/08/2011] Texas is one hot son of a gun, and I mean literally. It's like a thousand suns raining down my back when I take a step out the door. Don't even get my started on the sweat. I needed BOBA ASAP. Being from SoCal, I had no idea where I fuck I was going to find some. LOL. It was then a good samaritan guided me towards the recess of this small plaza. DRINKS: Let me just say this: No. Again. N. O. The boba milk tea here is a atrocity, it should be a crime to mess up something so easy so badly. I opted for the boba milk tea because surrrriously... How can any one mess that up? Oh wait. Guess I was wrong. I played it safe and still got screwed in the ass. :( The (now ex)boyfriend got the almond milk tea. The boba milk tea was flavorless and watered down (where is the black tea flavor??). It was like drinking brown H2o for $4.00. :| AND then there's the boba... THEY WERE SOGGY. GG. They overcooked the entire batch. It's so blasphemous... I can't even... ( .__.)\* I had black gelatinous pieces falling apart at the bottom of the cup and through the straw that by the time it reached my mouth, it was just blobs of... I don't even know. It's supposed to be chewy and slightly sweet while at the same time give off that small 'wow and refreshing' feel in your mouth. That's how boba is supposed to taste like. This boba was not sweet at all- in fact it didn't taste like anything. NADA The almond milk tea: the almond flavor is too strong. It was like a drop-kick to the face strong. 10 minutes on the way home, I still had that flavor in my mouth and I only took one sip from it. Mixed milk teas are supposed to be subtle yet retain it's own form and flavor while it's being paired with black/green tea and milk. This one was straight almond taste with too much sugar. Just imagine the almond flavor on steroids. -_- As a fellow milk-tea-loving-Asian, I am thoroughly disappointed! Didn't like it one bit. Want some mind blowing boba milk tea? Come to the 626 area the next time anyone is in SoCal! Also, parking is so awkward. :[ It's too compact, I wouldn't be surprised if someone's car gets dinged on a daily basis. read more

When I crave for a boba drink, I definitely come here when I'm in the area. The passion fruit tea is my favorite anywhere and this place does it well too. A passion fruit green tea is pretty awesome too. Basically anything I had was pretty good. I can't remember if I liked the taro here though. My friend bought me a Julie Special. It was delicious, a very pretty drink too(: I tried a green tea with aloe vera yesterday! I think this is my new drink. Healthy, light and it's good for you. They also have a point system so make sure you get the rewards if you're a usual! I believe you get a free drink after so many. I lost my card and found out late that you can use your cellphone number to get the rewards still. read more

I used to love this place, but it seems like lately there's all new people. My last visit here thy didn't have my usual watermelon and my wife's cantaloupe slush was just ice. This visit was much better, but my watermelon slush barely had any watermelon in it. I saw them put in two small pieces into the blender and fill the rest of the space up with ice. I agree with a previous Yelper and note sometimes the interior smells terrible. It's almost like a weird mix of cleaning products and a public restroom. read more

Milk (black) tea with boba. This is normally the only drink I get here. I used to ask for strawberry milk tea but it was always a weird consistency. They used a powder and it never dissolved fully. 2.70 for a regular size which I don't think is a horrible price. The boba was freshly made (b/c I had to wait longer this time) but it was still a bit harder than I feel it should be. I like the boba consistency from fat straws. Also, a bit of a surprise was when I got my drink, the boba was also green and red! Looked a little freaky deaky in my cup, but it still tasted the same. Holiday season deal I guess. I know a lot of reviews say the drinks are overly sweet, but my milk tea never is. There is a sign near the door that you can refer to if you would like it less sweet, just tell the employee the way you want it. I recommend staying away from milk (green) tea. My sister got that once and it tasted the way potpourri smells. They did however, make her a new drink when she told them she hated it. :D read more

Walking into Boba Latte, I thought it was really cute and modern. It's kind of hard to find, as it's located in a small shopping center behind a larger one, but once we found it, I was pretty happy. I love that they give you a choice of how sweet you want your tea. Most places just add way too much sugar by default. I ordered mine unsweetened and added the sugar myself. It would be nice if they made each tea to order, but they have pitchers of pre-made tea. Also, they just use regular fast food drink cups instead of boba cups. I know that machine that seals plastic onto a cup shouldn't be so important to me, but I consider it part of the experience, and everyone loves breaking the film with the fat straw. On the plus side, the orders came out really fast, since they didn't have to actually make the tea or seal the cup. I really liked the consistency of the boba. It was chewy, but firm, and not too gummy. I would go back if I'm in the area again, but I don't think I'd go out of my way for it. read more

Sunday after brunch, a couple of friends and I decided to celebrate Sundae Sunday, but ultimately ended up at Boba Latte in favor of some sweet beverages since it was near freezing outside (not quite the best time to grab ice cream). The store was a bit small, but their drinks were large. At a very reasonable price of $3.25 I got a large Thai Tea with boba. Their smalls are $2.75 which is still a fairly reasonable deal. As for the tea, it wasn't too sweet (like I've grown to expect at Tap House) so I didn't end up with a sugar rush/crash, but still had plenty of flavor. The biggest downside to Boba Latte was how small the place is. Usually I enjoy going with friends to grab a drink and chat/chill for a bit, and there was very few indoor seating, making it more of a grab and go kind of place. read more

I love their milk tea, it is honestly the best place for that. I'm not sure what they do differently but the milk teas still have a good kick of tea you can actually taste. I love it so much! One thing I have mixed feelings about is when small shops remodel and go big! It's great news for them because its a sign of good business and loyal customers, but I feel like this change can be negative to the loyal patrons due to lack of consistency from growing big. Unfortunately, I experienced that with Boba Latte. This WAS my go to place for boba because no where else in Dallas compared. It wasn't the cleanest, but boba was always fresh and the drinks were very consistent in their flavoring. Now, all the employees are new and the drinks are just too sweet. Boba is not fresh. Went in on a Saturday and there was no other patrons except us. I should have known!! read more

I used to come to this spot when it was super small and there was never anywhere to park . This was over 6 years ago though . Well, they have remodeled and it's a ton better . It's much more modern . I remember it being very good then . Now it's ok . Maybe I got the wrong flavor , which was bubble gum . I didn't get the pearls either . So, you will have to make your own call on that. Great Boba. It is such a nice place specially at the evening with sunlight peering through. Everyone here is kind and I love coming here.

Lately I've been coming here for Hong Kong milk tea. Not that it is so great that makes me come back again and again. It is because I can't find another place to have Hong Kong style milk tea. Having said that, the milk tea here is quite good. You can still get the black tea flavor and the smoothness of the condensed milk. Get the Hong Kong Milk Tea, half sweet. Just do it. You'll realize how tea-ey and complex milk tea can actually be, because Hong Kong style means its brewed stronger and more flavorful. With a slight tinge of the bitterness and myriad flavorings of actual tea, and silky slight sweetness, just get it next time you come in to Boba Latte. It's so good! You can see them make the legit tea in a huge steaming pot in the back and they actually prepare the tea the legit way, straining and pulling it several times like tradition demands. The boba here are also of good texture, not too mushy like lots of other places make it. I used to like Tapioca House but have recently changed my preference to Boba Latte after Tap House got the case of the mushy bubbles. Make sure you get and use the FiveStars reward card, you get a free drink after 10 drinks here! The only reasons why they don't get 5 stars is because the place smells really oddly of papaya/garbage/some funky air freshener they should change out. Also, depending on who's working in the back that day, the drinks can be inconsistent in terms of sweetness, I've had a "half sweet" drink come out super syrupy before. read more

My favorite place for boba in the Dallas area! I probably go at least once a week. I love how they have so many drink and topping options. My go-to is a green milk tea with boba while my boyfriend almost always gets almond milk tea with pudding. Service: Service has always been so-so, but recently it's slightly declined. Although the staff still greets you when you walk in, they kinda give off a rushy vibe?
