In terms of location, it sits between China Bar and Volar - you have to go into the building between the two and head up to the fourth floor. There's a Japanese restaurant and two shisha bars - Vibes and Alhambra. Vibes is a decent place to go to as well, but a bit pricier, and is more club that 'bar' if you ask me. Alhambra has an open terrace for either a smoke or a breath of fresh air, which is good for someone like me who absolutely hates hiking down just to have a cigarette or beat the claustrophobic crowd. You can also sit your shisha out there too, and listen to all the #WhiteGirlWasted mayhem that goes on below. I went with my friends during happy hour, so a beer was about $40 - very reasonable when you then consider that a round of shisha is $275. My personal choice to accompany shisha, if you're not looking for a raging night out after, is mint tea, and they do it justice here. The place does get busy at night however, so although it's a great place for after-work drinks, be wary of getting there early if you want to shisha before hitting the clubs. I would say getting there around 9pm with a small group of friends should suffice if trying to get a nice table.

Smoking indoors WITHOUT ANY ventilation whatsoever. No windows in the upstairs Staunton Street indoor seating area were open. None. I felt like I was suffocating. Lung cancer right there. If they had proper ventilation, I would give them an extra star. But nope. 2. Every time someone lit those fiery "candles" paired with a bottle of champagne, it released a very toxic gas. I don't know what gas, but it did not smell good and clogged up my lungs. I wasn't smelling the shisha smoke, I was smelling this whoknowswhat toxic fume from a lighter. I swear, shouldn't there be some regulation for indoor air quality for hookah venues? There is seating outdoors, which might be a little better. But still... 3. Bathrooms were filthy. Ladies room downstairs, men's room upstairs. The floor was so wet, covered in water - it's like someone decided to wash the floor or pee on it? I don't know. Come on Awtar. As for the mens restroom, every time some did a #2, the table sitting next to the men's restroom could smell it. Not pleasant at all. Would you want to smell someone else's business while taking a smoke? I don't think so. I'll end this review with one positive - for the one star, and that is, the blueberry mint shisha is a good solid flavor. Otherwise, if you don't want to get lung cancer, STAY AWAY!

The shisha definitely had a fruity flavor to it, but it didn't taste distinctively like it was strawberry. It just kind of tasted like fruit in general, though that seems to be the case for most of the shisha that I have tried. My mojito was very minty and refreshing, and I liked that it had a pretty strong lime taste. It was just the right amount of potent too. One thing that bothered me about Beirut, or rather, about where we were sitting, was that it made talking to each other really hard. It was a bar table so we were sitting next to each other. There were five of us in total, and since I was sitting on the very right, I really could only talk to the friend next to me. It made conversation across all five of us impossible and I wish we had been given a table instead (though to be fair, none were available at the time we came). If it was just you and a friend here, the bar table is fine, but any number upwards of two, I wouldn't recommend getting a seat at the bar table. I had a look at the food menu and it seemed pretty good - it was classic middle eastern and everything looked pretty appetizing. If you are looking for a more lively night, go Wednesday - Saturday when they have a live DJ, and Thursday is Arabic Night with belly dancers. They also have a hookah bar, and since it's "al fresco" the smoke doesn't really bother any other of the guests. After ordering one hookah (300 HKD) and one corona beer, the manager came up to us trying to push us to buy drinks for their "**mandatory** one drink per person" (does not state this anywhere in their menu. After denying their offer, the manager seemed to be upset and shook her head in denial, with another employee pushing her to let us go without buying drinks. Fair enough, she left. When we received our hookah, it was immediately disappointing. It felt as if it was true vapor - with HARDLY any nicotine. Normally, it takes me a few hits, but I never felt anything. In my personal opinion, because we didn't comply to their instruction of buying one drink per person, they put absolutely barely any tobacco in our hookah. Our hookah ran out with normal intakes in approximately 30 minutes (one to a few puffs per minute).
