Could never understand how shisha could be such a hip thing - until Kevin brought us here. So it's not only gimmick. Besides the glowing shisha pot which changes colors, the menu is impressive. There are a lot of choices and most of them are new to me. And there are a lot of cocktails which are all excellent match with shisha. We have ordered the VLT pitcher and the pineapple shisha - tropical and fruity. The shisha is indeed very good - smelt and tasted so organic and fresh from the fruit. The vibe is excellent, packed with hipsters and everyone is chilled and happy. We really had a great Friday night here. :)

BEST. SHISHA. IN. TOWN. Hands down…read more Coming from LA, Boba Bear carries some heavy expectation when it lands on Elgin Street. You probably won't notice it when you walk past, as it keeps a minimalistic design, but you will spot it from the beginning of the street from 8pm, seeing a long queue waiting for seats. Now first, know about the house rules. No reservations but you leave your name and phone number to get call when seats are available. All people in your party have to be present, or you won't get seated. And after you get seated, you cannot add more people in your table. It is some sort of some kind of cheat-proof mechanism, and is much needed for a shisha bar. After all you can't really have an accurate estimate of people staying around. So observing these rules seem like the only practical way to keep things simple and keep things running. We planned ahead quite a few times, and it finally worked out as we pulled an early night sitting in at 8:30pm. Funny we ran into a couple of friends after 9pm and they were way behind a long queue and waited for 2 hours to get a call. The hype is real man. Shisha. They have the most choices of favors I have seen in Hong Kong, maybe on par with Vibes. You have the choice of an art hookah or a usual hookah, which is more or less about a fancy glowing light underneath the pipe. People love it though, so can't really complain at all. We got pineapple mint, and it lasted almost 3 hours. The coconut charcoal was quite unique - it burned slower but smoother, so it didn't give the "choky" feeling when the charcoal burned out. The shisha took a few of us quite lightheaded, and to be fair we were all quite "experienced" shisha smokers, so it was a pleasant surprise. Drinks tasted well, and, as an after-fact, were surprisingly strong. Quite a few of them were milk-based cocktails (but we didn't order), which I suspected it had to do with mixing well with the shisha. One minor nitpicking was that the servers were quite actively asking if we needed more drinks. We were drinking at quite a pace already, but I guess pushing for buying more drinks was the only way to break-even. Lastly - try the instant Instagram / Twitter feed upload, pics and tweets will show up at their TV immediately.

So we walked down to LKF to Beirut, a middle eastern bar and restaurant that, with its prime location on D'aguilar street, you will no doubt have walked (stumbled?) past several times if you've been to LKF. It was around 9:30 and Beirut was pretty full. From the outside, it didn't look like there was a vacant table in sight, but we were brought in anyway to the bar table. We decided to go for the strawberry shisha, and were glad to know that there's no additional charge for coal refills. We ordered some drinks as well - I decided to go with a good old-fashioned mojito. The shisha here is not extremely potent, but it's not weak to the point of being nothing. The shisha definitely had a fruity flavor to it, but it didn't taste distinctively like it was strawberry. It just kind of tasted like fruit in general, though that seems to be the case for most of the shisha that I have tried. My mojito was very minty and refreshing, and I liked that it had a pretty strong lime taste. It was just the right amount of potent too. One thing that bothered me about Beirut, or rather, about where we were sitting, was that it made talking to each other really hard. It was a bar table so we were sitting next to each other. There were five of us in total, and since I was sitting on the very right, I really could only talk to the friend next to me. It made conversation across all five of us impossible and I wish we had been given a table instead (though to be fair, none were available at the time we came). If it was just you and a friend here, the bar table is fine, but any number upwards of two, I wouldn't recommend getting a seat at the bar table. I had a look at the food menu and it seemed pretty good - it was classic middle eastern and everything looked pretty appetizing. We were too full to eat by then though, but I would love to swing by for lunch sometime.

This is a very relaxing, informal atmosphere. It's located on the 5th floor of the Mira Hotel. Sofas and comfortable chairs, accompanied by low tables, metal lotus flower, and bamboo stocks, give a calming vibe to everyone there. The drinks are strong, delicious and refreshing. Appetizers are really good, we love the French fries. I know, you may think "you can get French fries anywhere" but these are excellent. The Quesadillas are good too. If you are looking for a more lively night, go Wednesday - Saturday when they have a live DJ, and Thursday is Arabic Night with belly dancers. They also have a hookah bar, and since it's "al fresco" the smoke doesn't really bother any other of the guests. During the day is a nice place to relax but, at night it's fun, upbeat, and great spot to meet people for a "pre-game" drink or two.

Hype for nothing…read more.. Lang Kwai Fung is known for their exceptional clubs and hookah lounge/bars, but this one is definitely not on my list - and shouldn't be on yours. Let me tell you why: First, I searched this place up on google, and it had great reviews! (4-5 stars) With such good feedback, I decided to visit with a group of friends that are occasional hookah lounge visitors. After ordering one hookah (300 HKD) and one corona beer, the manager came up to us trying to push us to buy drinks for their "**mandatory** one drink per person" (does not state this anywhere in their menu. After denying their offer, the manager seemed to be upset and shook her head in denial, with another employee pushing her to let us go without buying drinks. Fair enough, she left. When we received our hookah, it was immediately disappointing. It felt as if it was true vapor - with HARDLY any nicotine. Normally, it takes me a few hits, but I never felt anything. In my personal opinion, because we didn't comply to their instruction of buying one drink per person, they put absolutely barely any tobacco in our hookah. Our hookah ran out with normal intakes in approximately 30 minutes (one to a few puffs per minute). This place looked like a great visit, but would like to point out to all yelp users how covert it is. It felt as if I was smoking air.

We had to walk into the building and look at the directory, but definitely worth the hunt. We wanted to relax from all the heat and walking, and this was the perfect spot. They have the A.C. blasting, music playing, and best of all the glass hookah was really good. I'm always skeptical about trying new hookah places because there aren't many out there- especially when travelling. We noticed that charcoal had glass hookah, and we prefer it because of the clean & crisp taste. We got the fumari glass hookah and played it safe with fumari white gummy lemon mint. It didn't disappoint me at all. Service and ambience was great! I'd definitely come here again when in HK.
