This place took over an old dairy milk store a while ago and converted it into a drive-thru boba shop for use during the day time. With the pandemic outbreak, the drive-thru line has reached around the corner like an In N Out line - all waiting for their sweet boba drinks in the safety of their car. The Almond Milk Tea and Hokkaido Milk Tea are my favorites from the menu. The almond drink bares quite a sweet and rich taste of almonds, while the Hokkaidodraws a toffeed creamy taste. Skipping the 30-minute wait by opting to order at the walk-in counter also sped up my order with friendly and quick service. read more

A boba drive thru...what??? Only in Boba Land can you experience something like this. But instead of doing that, I parked my car and wanted to go inside to order and take pics for Yelp. Due to the pandemic, you are not allowed to. The guy actually asked if I was from the health department. When I asked one more time if I can run in quick to take a look he politely asked again, are you sure you're not from the health dept.? I wish! What a fun job that would be. Very limited milk tea menu. I had Hokkaido Milk Tea at Boba Ave 8090 in San Gabriel before and I loved it. So I decided to order the same here. I asked for 25% sugar level with grass jelly. Upon first sip, it was still overly sweet for me and IT IS NOT THE SAME. I can't put my finger on it but I had a hard time drinking it, it did not taste like tea. I only took a few sips and threw the whole drink away. There is a mural when you exit the drive thru that says..."Put Your Boba Up MADAFAKAS". Ms. Bobalicious would have gladly given up her boba drink. Super friendly service: the guy was really helpful at the window. Boba Ave Express is the way to go if it's late at night and your looking to fulfill that boba fix. Their Hokkaido Milk Tea was so delicious and yummy, and they cooked their boba to a great, chewy texture. I love how this boba place is drive-thru. It's a really fun experience with friends if it's late at night and you don't want to get out of your car to get boba. The only times I've been were after the 626 Night Market, so of course the line was a bit long. However, I don't regret going as I enjoyed waiting with my boyfriend and knew I was going to get great quality boba. Definitely better than anything at the 626 Night Market. Would come here again! I was in the area and found this place, so I decided to try out some Boba drinks. I then checked the reviews before I ordered so that I have an idea of what they have. One thing I did like is that they ask you how much sugar you want (i.e., 25%, 50%, 75%, & 100%). Then they asked amount of ice, light or regular. Not sure about the rest of you but I don't like my drinks to sweet and not too much ice. So we went with 25% sugar and light ice. We order the brown sugar boba milk tea and jasmine green milk tea with boba. Of course the creamer is a non-dairy creamer (This is great for vegans or plant based people). One good thing that's come out of this quarantine so far is that I've been exploring more local businesses. And by local, I mean VERY local. Arcadia only. I pass by this place daily but it wasn't until recent that it caught my attention. I've been seeing cars lined up in their drive thru on my drives home from work and decided to give it a try on one of my days off. I originally wanted the messy brown sugar grass jelly but it wasn't on their current menu so I got their brown sugar boba milk tea instead. Order and pay at the first window, pick up drinks at the second window. Service was fast and efficient. As for the drink, sweetness and ice levels were good without adjusments. Boba had a good, chewy consistency and the milk tea tasted fresh. They used an organic milk that didn't upset my lactose sensitive stomach, thumbs up to that. Can't believe I waited so long to give this place a try. Will definitely be back to try their other drinks and snacks! read more

It makes total sense for a drive thru boba joint to exist, but Boba Ave Express does not do this right. The wait is too slow. I am surprised that the city even allows a line to form on the street. I went on a weekday evening thinking that it was a opportune moment (less of a wait than a weekend) to try this place out, but the 4 cars in front of me equated to a 45 minute wait. When I got to the first window to order, the cashier had no knowledge of the menu. I ordered a passion fruit green tea and a Hokkaido milk tea with pudding. The cashier asked me, "what kind of pudding?" ..There's only one type of pudding. Once I was done with my order, the cashier asked me if I wanted my receipt printed, text or emailed; I ask for a printed receipt, but the cashier remembered that they ran our of paper once he confirmed the selection. At the 2nd window, they accidently made a Peach & Passion Fruit Green Tea. The drinks were a little too sweet for my liking. I couldn't taste any tea. Great spot to sit and do homework, there are 3 small tables inside and a couple more outside on the patio area. Even better? They have a freaking drive thru!! Like what the heck!! warning: you will be waiting in a long line for mediocre boba! There is always a line here, so normally I would park my car and order in person to skip the wait (they use to have this option). However they got rid of the ability to order in person completely around 2 months ago so now it's exclusively a drive through. I didn't know about this, so I went recently when I was craving popcorn, chicken and Boba, so I went here, and after waiting in the drive-through line for about 20 minutes, I finally get to the ordering window only to be told that popcorn chicken will take an additional 25 minutes How insane. So I had to go somewhere and couldn't wait for popcorn chicken but in total I would've waited almost 1 hour if I did get that. There's so many other better boba spots + popcorn chicken around. I had good experience the first two times as the drink was 50% less sugar. Today was different. I forgot to ask 50% less sugar at the window. As I came around the window,l (about 2 minutes later) I apologized and immediately asked to make my drink 50% less sugar. I was told the drink was made 50% less sugar but it tastes very sweet.
