Worst place I took my car. Went in for a leaking seal got my car back with all my lights on my dashboard. Employees are doing drugs in the parking lot. They messed my car up not once but twice.

I was once told by a dealer's service department where I bought the car that my car needed brakes and it was unsafe to drive home. This didn't sit well given the car's mileage so I took the car to Spaanstra Bros. They showed me that my brakes were well within the safe operating level. Ten thousand miles later, I had the brakes done and they were still good although getting close to needing replacement. Of the repairs and service I've had done here over the years, they may not be the least expensive, but I feel I'm receiving value as a result of their competence and honesty. Highly recommended.

Good car guys, I trust them. I'm really glad I found this place. I used to worry about being…read moreovercharged (and I know nothing about cars, so that would be easy!) Spaanstra Brothers is nothing flashy, but they're easy to work with and fair with the quote. I hope I don't need car repairs anytime soon, but if I do, I'll take my car there. Don't expect to just drive up and get service, they're a small shop and if they're busy, they'll tell you. (That's okay by me, it means they they're busy because they're good! Also, I've had that bad experience where a place takes your car and takes way longer than they say they would, this place will be honest up front.) Note: It's super easy to get Spaanstra Brothers confused with Veenstra's Garage, which is just down the road across the street.

If you're reading this, you're probably looking for a mechanic. Look no further--meet The Better…read moreMechanic! Hunter will ruin your car, steal your parts, take 4+ months to finish what should've been an 8-hour job, and masterfully dodge your calls the whole time. He might even glue your car back together and swear it's "just fine." You'll likely need a tow truck to drop it off AND to pick it up, because it may only drive ten minutes before breaking down again. The Stats: * Lying - (5 stars) * Stealing - (5 stars) * Gaslighting - (5 stars) * Communication - (1star) * Accountability - not even once My Experience: I'm an international college student who brought my car to Hunter in December for a simple timing chain replacement. We agreed: I supply the parts, he does the labour. I finally got my car back on May 30th. In that time, Hunter: * Stole parts from my engine bay * Kept brand-new parts I gave him to install (NGK coils, spark plugs, ECS intake... gone!) * Got evicted from his original shop and moved my car 45+ minutes away, refusing to tell me where it was for over a month * Broke components and then tried to superglue them together instead of replacing them * Only started replying when I told him I'd see him in small claims court (where he seems to be a frequent flyer) Oh--and at one point, when dodging my calls, he claimed he was hospitalised and semi-conscious on a drip... from a two-week flu. I wish I was joking. Honestly? No woman will ever gaslight me again--Hunter trained me well. For that alone, 5 stars. Final Thoughts: This winter, I walked to school. I lost money. I lost time. I lost valuable parts. What I gained? A crash course in lies, theft, and mechanical malpractice. If you're wondering why there's no listed location--that's probably because he's avoiding being served. Don't be his next "lesson learned." I'll be filing complaints with the BBB and small claims court (not for money, but principle)--and based on other reviews, I won't be alone I'll update my review after the process and what the court decides...I got time.

Wasted my time. Installed the part wrong the first time and kept stalling the warranty repair to…read morethe point of me giving up and taking my business elsewhere.
