Can't wait to go back! Tried this place for the first time and absolutely loved it! We ordered 2 platters to go, one with the sweet sauce, the other with the Smokey sauce. The meats were excellent! Cornbread and Mac and Cheese tasted home made, Cole slaw was very fresh, beans - yummy! We also ordered the Sweet potatoes and they were like dessert - but not that overly sugary taste. We stopped here on our way home from the Hocking Hills and it was a great find! We had the Monte Cristo and the Reuben and both were delicious. They offer a large and small option and the small was plenty for each of us for dinner. Place was clean and is trying very hard to keep everyone separated and safe during COVID. First impression was good as it was clean and neat upon arrival. As far as the bbq, it was pretty good. The brisket was a nice portion and most of the fat was trimmed off. The mac & cheese was good, but not near as good as I've ever eaten. Wish their fries were more like you'd get at the fair, but they were also good. The three sauces were good, but I preferred the smoky-flavored one. I'll probably be back sometime in the future to try the other meats and cobbler. read more

Man was I misinformed before with a 4 star review. Bob came back to work today, and I'm joyous he did. With my first-choice food truck amongst the missing (side-eye to you, Angry Weiner...), I opted for the Mac and Moo again. Best. sandwich. ever. It was freaking delicious. Being right downtown, parking can be an issue, but on our first visit we got lucky and got a spot right in front of the door. The entrance and restaurant is clean and simply decorated. Modest seating gives plenty of room for comfort. Take out orders are welcome. We ordered take out and had our food in less than 10 minutes. The woman who took our order was friendly and answered our questions about the menu and the platter meals. The fries were hot and fresh, very tasty. The slaw was fresh and my husband enjoyed it. I got the Mac n cheese, which was obviously homemade, but was a little bland. We both ordered beef brisket with the Lancaster sauce. I expected a "saucy" meat, but it was more like a rubbed meat. The flavor was good and savory, a nice blend of whatever Bob uses, without being sweet or spicy. The meat was tender, falling apart, and a little on the fatty side. We also got a pulled pork sandwich. The sandwiches are made on Texas toast, which is a nice switch from the usual buns, and there is a hearty serving of meat in your sandwich. I suggest if you order to go sandwich that you get the bread separate from the meat because by the time we got home (less than 10 minutes) the bottom bread was soggy. Overall, it was an enjoyable meal and as long as we can find a place to park we will probably eat there again. read more

Well what can I say. I was not very impressed. When you're a barbecue place and your sides were way way better than your meat I see that as a problem. The brisket Wes pretty good. The chicken was terrible. No flavor wet just sucked. The wings were not good either. In my opinion wings are a big seller I think if worked on your wings it could do really well for your business. Being down town at lunch time I think you could sell a lot of them. They should be made at time of order deep fried tossed in sauce I know you're business is smoking meat which is fine. But not for wings. You work on putting out a kick ass wing I think you will benefit from it . Just my opinion. read more

I just finished a long 63 mile bike ride terminating in Lancaster Ohio, and I had a hankering for some Barbecue. Did a Google Search, and happened upon Bob's. What a FANTASTIC find!!! They have their roots in food truck food. Wow! I REALLY enjoyed my food. I had a twist on the traditional Reuben, they call a BBB Reuben. Pulled-pork topped with Cici's Sweet Sauce, sauteed onions, Swiss cheese, coleslaw and Spicy stone-ground mustard mayo, on Texas Toast. Very Tasty!!! I will definitely have to make a return trip, and try something else. Love it! read more

EXCELLENT FOOD and great service. So many different sauces to choose from to suit everyone. I couldn't get enough of the mustard based one; and I don't prefer mustard over tangy or spicy. I was a little hesitant after reading some reviews. So glad my husband and I gave Bob's a chance! We both love barbecue and the brisket was fantastic! My husband had the pulled pork sundae! So yummy. This was our 1st time here and we thought it was good. I ordered the Beef Brisket with the sweet sauce and I got a side of Mac n cheese and a side of coleslaw and a drink. My fiancée got Pulled Pork with a side of Mac n Cheese and fries and a drink. Your 1st side is $1.50 with a purchase and each side after that is $2.00. Total for 2 sandwiches, 4 sides, and 2 drinks was $28.00. Not too bad. Their portions fill you up. They also have platters you can choose 1 meat & 2 sides for about $9 or 2 meats & 2 sides for $11 or 3 meats w/2 sides for $13. Probably the better way to go next time is to get a platter. The food tastes good. We love their Mac n Cheese and I really liked their Coleslaw. We will go back and try it again. read more

First I have to say that I just spent 11 years in Texas eating barbecue at least once a week. At festivals other people's homes birthday parties it's just what you do in Texas. This is a lovely little restaurant very clean the staff is friendly. Prices are high. The chicken is definitely mediocre does not taste like it's been barbecued more like baked and then shredded the actual brisket itself is shredded and placed on your plate portions do not satisfy a craving as well portions don't equal the price. They also don't give you bread if you want a slice of bread they charge you extra. Your brisket meal $11 should come with a slice of bread. Had sides coleslaw pretty flavorless the macaroni baked tastes a little bit strange..like plastic, but as far as it goes it's a decent restaurant just not really enough for the price and the barbecue is not truly authentic brisket barbecue. read more

The pulled pork was awesome but I was thoroughly disappointed with the Mac and cheese. Extremely bland with over cooked noodles with clumps of processed cheese. It tasted like leftover Mac and cheese they microwaved. Had a few bites of mush and had to put it down. read more

I had the pulled pork with mac-n-cheese. Simply excellent. The pork was cooked perfectly. No need for bbq sauce, but they have smokey, sweet, and spicy sauce. I tried all three. All were very good. If I had to pick a favorite, spicy is it followed closely by smokey. Mac-n-cheese was also very good - like homemade good. I recommend it. Back to the pork. Very tender and juicy with excellent flavor. It was served on Texas toast style bread, which makes for a great sandwich. The restaurant itself is simple and clean. The service was very good. I've had bbq in the Carolinas, Nashville, and Austin (haven't made it to Memphis and Kansas City yet). I would easily put Bob's and Maggie's bbq and sauces up against any I've had in these other "famous" bbq locations. Go get some Bob's Backyard Barbecue! read more
