Back to my fav breakfast place- variety thus suited for everyone- cashier always friendly as are the waitress- today I had the BEST veggie omelet with goat cheese, had to eat half and take remainder home along with hash browns and toast. Literally twisted in a corkscrew shape, they were yummy and the cheese wasn't super stringy. Not choking on cheese is always a bonus. I ordered the Strawberry Bacon Salad. Mixed greens with grilled chicken, bacon, strawberries, honey-roasted pecans, red onions (which I removed), and it comes with a warm bacon dressing. All the ingredients together are very sweet. There was a little confusion going on when I came to pick up the Turkey Family feast for our Christmas dinner, but we got everything straightened out, The turkey wasn't very flavorful but most of the other sides were very good. Discovered when we started to prepare that there was no pumpkin bread as promised. Called and were told that we could come by and pick it up and thay would give us some gift certificates for our trouble. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with this place. I have passed it multiple times but never had the desire to stop. We decided to have breakfast there today and it was wonderful! The staff were all friendly and the food was great. I was under the impression this was more like an ihop type place but I was wrong. It has a country feel with way better food that ihop. Their prices are also really reasonable and you get a ton of food. They also serve lunch and dinner which by the looks of the menu looked good as well. I went to this Bob Evan's for breakfast this morning and ordered the steak and eggs for my meal. The steak tasted spoiled to me, so I informed my waitress that the steak smelled and tasted spoiled. I ordered a Thanksgiving Meal for my sweet elderly mother to be delivered from her local Bob Evans in Jacksonville Florida. After paying for this meal. I've called and called with no responses. It's Thanksgiving day and she's about to try and drive across town to see if she can retrieve the meal on her own. It was supposed to be delivered as advertised. I understand that it's different with Covid-19, but if you're continuing to operate please have some type of customer service. Any customer service (perhaps someone or even an automated bot) to help customers that place orders online would be appreciated. We don't have one of these down in Miami, so whenever I visit up here I make sure to stop by. The food is pretty average. It's good but not fantastic. And yes, it's not fresh food. I'm almost certain everything is boxed, canned or instant except maybe for a couple of things. Not a biggie. It's not like this is food to eat every day. The service on this particular Sunday was very slow. My favorite village and had closed and therefore I redirected to the Hartley Rd. Bob Evans across the street. My friend and I were seated immediately; we were served a coffee immediately. It took our waitress 10 minutes to return to the table to take our order. 20 minutes we received our food. Another 10 minutes past before our waitress came to refill our coffees. All in all I doubt will be back. On the plus side the atmosphere is homey, familiar and reeks of great southern hospitality. Met a friend for breakfast this morning. Have been to Bob Evans many times before (not this location) and have always had a good experience. Today I ordered the mini-sampler with an extra egg and biscuit. The waitress said the "Rise and Shine" was exactly that. It was early for me and I didn't check. My friend ordered the double meat breakfast. The food served was just okay. First, they do not have butter. They serve country crock margarine which does not melt. What's the point. I couldn't eat either of my biscuits...DRY and cold. Were they even made today? The hashbrowns (in the past, they have been AWESOME) were old and cold. They looked brown, but it was only brown on one side and should never have been served. My friend's eggs (sunny side up) were barely cooked...more uncooked than cooked. Neither of us finished....The waitress (she was friendly and always ready to give more coffee!) noticed I did not touch the biscuits, hashbrowns and left 2 sausage links. She never offered a to-go box. Finally one of the waitresses came and took the plate, saying, "I doubt you want to take it home." She was right. The bill was over $30. It was a hardy serving and that large serving of french toast made my day. If you get there after 9 AM on a Sunday morning there can be a wait. There is wait seating inside and outside. On April 17 of this year, I decided to come to this restaurant for the first time with my mother to have a relaxing morning after a bright and early doctors appointment. Our server, whose name I unfortunately do not remember, was very polite and delightful from the start. She accommodated us well especially since I was in a wheelchair due to an accident that I suffered from a couple months ago. It wasn't until our orders were taken where things started to go downhill. Our food, which consisted of a western omelette for me and a farmer's choice breakfast with hotcakes for my mother, took about 40 minutes to arrive to our table. This was a bit irksome since the restaurant did not seem busy at all. Our server was apologizing for the wait once bringing our food, but my mother's order was still not complete as her hotcakes were still not ready. Dismissing this, we decide to go ahead and eat since we were already starving from the wait. It was till another 20 minutes my mom finally received her hotcakes after already finishing more than half her plate. To our disappointment, my mom found her hotcakes to be completely under cooked where the inside of the pancakes was gooey. This just told us that these pancakes were rushed out to us without a bother to properly make them. Once our server came back to check on us we told and showed her that my mother's pancakes were poorly made. She responded by apologizing and stating "I will go yell at the cook to make sure it doesn't happen again." This took us completely off guard and did not fix the problem whatsoever. If this is the employee protocol that Bob Evan's restaurant has for dealing with bad orders then at least allow your customers to yell at the cook for themselves since that would be more satisfying. In addition, our server came back to tell us that she successfully yelled at the cook for us... Upon receiving the check, we expressed our disappointment with our first experience dining at Bob Evan's to which our apologetic server replied "I'm sorry I will make sure your next time is much better." Lastly, as we were leaving we noticed another lady looking and approaching toward us who seemed to be the manager. She appeared to back away and just kept eyeing at us. This was disappointing since we believed she was going to formally apologize on behalf of the restaurant. She did not, and on top of that my mother and I had to leave with no help at the door. The manager Tara kept slamming dishes after being washed. This was done three times so loud I could not carry on a conversation with my son who I had driven 1 hour to see. This started a big argument because I told the waitress to please tell the person to stop slamming the damn dishes. When I told Tara the "pseudo manager" about this, she was not empathetic and replied unprofessionally and with an attitude, "I'm sorry but this is a business and nobody else is bothered by it." I've worked in restaurants and placing or stacking dishes is normal, but this was extremely loud to the point that I could not hear or carry on a conversation. The manger was rude and uncaring. My server was great and understood. When checking out, I was second in line yet I was the last to be serviced. Nobody seems to care anymore about doing things right, getting things right, making things right and I was very disappointed that Bob Evans would even have a manager with such poor people skills.
