Food and service is always 5 stars. Love the seasonal pumpkin bread. I had the small portion Turkey and dressing with mashed potatoes. The cranberry relish is totally delicious. I don't recall ever having any better at another restaurant. Today there is also Cinnamon Coffee Cake available. It smells so good. This restuarant is clean. There is always someone cleaning. The staff are friendly and welcome you as soon as you enter the building. The sweet tea is always fresh brewed and sweetened to perfection. If you are looking to buy a quick gift. This is the place. GREAT STAFF. POOR MANAGEMENT. We waited several minutes to be seated. We waited several minutes to order. It took an HOUR from the time we sat down, to get our food. Our waitress, Trinity, was top notch! She was one of two waitresses working. Two walked out and quit not long after we arrived. Once I met the manager on duty, I understood why. She had a TERRIBLE attitude. Not welcoming at all! Nor was she helping serve the guests. I saw folks get seated and leave due to how long it took to order but I cannot blame the staff. Becoming very weary in writing poor reviews for too too many restaurants today and all across Hillsboro. Could write a book on this Bob Evans but wont! Will just express my true disappointment in seeing a once family favorite restaurant go WAY down hill. But for the last at least 10 years AND ESPECIALLY the Hillsboro Ohio location the food is nothing short of slop. But when you order ANY THING, ANYTHING in person OR to go ALL is in a disarray on your plate is NOT cooked properly, looks to have been sitting ALL day AND TASTES THAT WAY! And IS JUST PLAIN SLOP. We recently moved out here, but over the years have went to the Wards Corner and the Kenwood Ohio locations and the food IS A LITTLE BETTER but NOTHING LIKE IT WAS YEARS AGO. SUCH A SHAME. One of my best friends was a waitress at the Bob Evans in Kenwood on Montgomery Road suburbs of Blue Ash Cincinnati Ohio FROM 1979 until 1999- ISH. She made great tips because the food WAS good and the waitresses were awesome! Every year at that location they had a taste test day where they offered friends of employees a 2-4 hour!!!! long sit in where they cooked us fresh meal after meal, new platters and foods and such all was free! In exchange for filling out opinion forms, etc!!!! I WENT every year for at least 6 years and looked forward to it. Also ate there at least 8 or so times every year. Back then the food was fresh, plates were plentiful, Bob Evens breakfasts and foods looked and tasted so good, REAL home cooked meals. Earlier today for a quick lunch.... I DONT KNOW WHAT THAT WAS I just paid $13.49 for!????? I ordered the Turkey and Dressing dinner ($13.49!!!) with 2 sides TO GO and was told it would be 30 minutes for rolls! So I didnt wait. The turkey was lunch meat. The dressing an absolutely flavorLESS Stove Top Stuffing. Gravy had a good taste! BUT THE Cranberry sauce it came with? YIKES! It was a somewhat cranberry tasting red liquid with just 2 chunks of I DONT KNOW WHAT. Also got the Piggy Pancakes for my grand daughter and repeated 3 TIMES.... "We want the Piggy style kids pancakes with fruit and chocolate syrup...." Yes MAAM..... We got Silver Dollar Pancakes, NO Maple Syrup, NO Chocolate Syrup. Also ordered a bowl of Biscuits and Gravy which tasted like it always did BUT it was about a CUP for $6.59 I realize to go orders can sometimes be a little on the cooler side or a bit messed up..... But for $25.00 the food we got, and how it was presented WAS WORTH NOT EVEN $5. BUCKS. I SHOULD HAVE looked thru my order THOROUGHLY but didnt. We had a busy and big Sunday and just wanted to feed the crew and relax. THAT DIDNT didnt exactly work out as planned..... Nuff said, and Thats it. I've had it. I'll never go there again. Completely awful. Me and my girlfriend wanted to eat dinner together. She was served tea with a stirring spoon that was caked in old food. Unfortunately she did not realize it until she put it in her mouth. We were then given dinner rolls that were still almost raw. They had the consistency of play dough. We finally decided to leave after over an hour of waiting and after witnessing one of the chefs drip snot all over the place where they lay the cooked food that they are about to take out. I don't even think they even started our food during that time. We agreed to get up and leave. Also witnessed the table next to us get a free meal because it took so long. The workers were having to apologize to everyone for their wait. It was ridiculous. It was not even busy; it was a Thursday evening! I can not imagine how it would be during a busy time! Patronized Bob Evans Restaurant in Hillsboro, Ohio today. I will never return! I never received my order and we waited an hour. My husband received his after 30 minutes and the family of five sitting by us that arrived 20 minutes after us got theirs before my husband and they had a lot of food. They even got refills on their drinks, we did not. The server kept saying five more minutes, five more minutes. I didnt realize a bowl of soup was going to break the kitchen! At least I got to watch my husband and the other family eat so that was fun. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone....ever! The manager on duty tonight is unprofessional. He brings our teas and makes a comment that he isn't sure if my tea is unsweet or not. As he is walking away, I said to my hubby, 'How does the manager not know what kind of tea he brought me?' He backs up and says 'It was a joke'. As he laughs. I take a drink and it's sweeter than McDs. Recently I have been told to watch my sugar so there is a health reason why I ordered unsweet. A little bit later, he brings me another tea laughing it off that he brought me the wrong one. Long story short, he really does not care about his customers and the concerns they have. While waiting for our teas to come out the first time, one of servers felt the need to sweep out our booth with a broom while we are sitting there. Been there before and it was poor, now that covid hit decided to try again. Mistake. Went in floor was a mess. There is dust and dirt all over the place. By the door where the benches are there was dirt under the benches and it had dust all over the fake wood. You would think they would put extra effort now that there is a cleaning thing going on in every place you go. Not this one. Must have a manager now that does not care. We regularly waited to be greeted by someone at least 5 minutes and the longest took us at least 20 minutes to be greeted and seated. My and my mother had came here for my graduation and were thoroughly disappointed. Bob evans is one of my favorite restaurants but I will never be going to this one ever again. I ordered the farmers choice and had asked for pancakes, and received French toast (which is one of my least favorite foods). After that I had to ask for them to get me pancakes and hadn't ended up getting them until I finished all of the other stuff on my second plate, which consisted of home fries, 3 sausage links, and 2 eggs over medium. Which mind you, when we were waiting to get seated it took 25 minutes, when we were waiting to order it took 15, and when we were waiting for our food it took 40. Not to even mention the fact that my mother got the wrong meal which was 6 dollars more than what she ordered, and with just us two it ended up being almost 45 dollars. That and the lady that served us was very rude and not once refilled our drinks even though we asked multiple times. We ended up being there for 2 hours and 30 minutes even though we are both quick eaters. I'm never going here again, that and some of my pancakes were burnt, another thing is that there was someone that dropped a glass on the floor near our seat and didn't even pick it up. read more

Bristled chicken was dry as a bone. Basically inedible. Service was horrendous and the place was filthy. Everyone had an attitude. Apparently there is no team work here as people stood around and no one cleaned the tables. I sat in a double row of booths. Each empty booth was piled with dirty dishes. If someone came in they cleaned one place and left the rest. I hate eating surrounded by dirty dishes. The waitress never cleared away my dishes and seldom came to see if I needed anything. I had to ask for everything including silverware. I got up and got my own ketchup since the one on my table was empty and the waitress never came back. Sorry I stopped here for sure. read more
