What has happened to the chicken noodle soup? Ordered a bowl. No chicken, not chicken broth. Broth tasted more like onions than chicken, a few carrot were the only vegetables. Overall an odd taste. This place is a joke. Continue to attempt to give this place another chance but get disappointed. We have eaten here for 30plus yrs. I even used to work there in the 90's. Ordered two turkey and dressing dinners, mashed potatoes one dinner side carrot's one order of green beans. Two salads two strawberry pie and extra gravy specifically on the side. The first issue was on pick up the manager was checking out in house guests with a lengthy line, that continued, it was a Sunday after church. I was only carry out and my food was on the counter ready, so getting cold as I waited for in house line. No acknowledgment from manager. Finally another gal came from back and checked me out and I always dble check orders anymore. She specifically stated oh the gravy is on the meal instead of on side. Ok. Got home not enough turkey between the two meals to make one serving, literally two small bites of turkey. No extra gravy at all, carrots were hard. Strawberry pie was not the old full strawberries in pie that Bob Evans was known for. My pie had one quarter of a berry in the red strawberry glaze, for the whole piece. I don't know what happened to this corp or this store but its sad and disappointing. Go to Texas Roadhouse much better! read more

My husband and I have given this place way too many chances. The last time was it. No more! We both ordered the honey chicken, mine with green beans, and his with corn, and both asked for the banana bread instead of rolls. The banana bread came out, and it was very doughy, not quite cooked all the way. The "butter" tasted off. It was so gross! The waitress brought our meal, and our plates were both swimming in broth from the green beans. That meant that the biscuits that the chicken was on top of were getting soaked from all the broth. It was after 8pm, and if we hadn't been starving, and were on our way to work, we would've just left. We soaked up the broth the best we could with napkins, but the damage had been done to the biscuits. Waitress had vanished. Never saw her again. No clue why the vegetables weren't in their own side bowl like usual! The chicken had a very odd texture, and I forced one piece down, but could not stomach the rest. It was rubbery, but squeaky and felt weird on our teeth. We actually wondered if it was lab meat, cause it did not feel like chicken. I was done. I have never left so much food on a plate at any restaurant ever. When we went to pay, the manager asked how everything was. We told him that honestly, it was the worst meal we ever had there, and the last several times had been bad, but this time was one we just couldn't get past. I mentioned the butter tasted off. He said "That's because it isn't butter. It's made with canola oil. They don't let us use real butter anymore ". I said, " Well, it's rancid! No one should eat it, cause it gone bad. ". Then I told him the chicken texture was very gross, rubbery and squeaky, felt odd in our mouths, and we couldn't finish it.". He told us that was because it is hand breaded now, and it didn't matter that the frozen chicken was what everyone liked, they had to do hand breaded. He went on to say that they only make it in the morning, so what we ate was old by then, and to only order it early in the day. That was his excuses, and he wasn't about to comp us anything, so I didn't even bother mention the rest. Just told him that we wouldn't be back. Prices are too much for such poor quality, and he obviously didn't care to fix anything. He said he hated it there now, had been 35 years with the company, and couldn't wait to leave. Lovely. He's perfectly content to let it run into the pits. Stay far far away!!! Edit 9/10/25 My in-laws have had dinner twice there lately, and both times their pricing was different depending on the waitress they had. They've had this happen previously, as well, but hoped it was fixed. One waitress charges extra for more rolls or extra dressing, and another doesn't. Guess who gets a tip. They did comment that the food quality has gone way down, but because of lack of other places to eat, they still go there. read more

I got the Hot Dang Chicken dinner with fries and broccoli. It was really good, the chicken was nice and Spivey which was offset with the fresh banana bread. Our server, whom I'm embarrassed to say I forgot her name was awesome and very attentive. She was young with black hair. The restaurant overall was nice and clean. Bob Evans are notoriously hit or miss. This one was just ok. The food was, thankfully, very good. I got the Country Biscuit Breakfast. It was hot and tasted fresh. My server wasn't fresh. She barely spoke. She acted as if she hated life and didn't want to be serving me breakfast...which was probably true. If there is one thing that I could say to all Bob Evan's it's, "CLEAN YOUR FREAKING BATHROOMS!!" The grime that was built up in the men's room was intense. This bathroom was as bad as that gas station bathroom in the bad part of town. You know, the one where you have to get the key from the attendant and it's attached to a hubcap? The floor was sticky with urine. The toilet seat had feces on it. Grimy hand prints were everywhere...EVERYWHERE. I felt like I needed to be in a hazmat suit just to wash my hands. This location absolutely fails with restroom cleanliness. read more

The waitress we had took our order and we didn't get our food till an hour later. Looking at the food you could tell it had been sitting back there for a long time because the pancakes my family ordered were cold and had a weird film on top of the blueberry syrup. My meal was cold and the waitress was very rude and disrespectful. The manager was really nice and brought us the water we had asked our waitress for several times after he gave her a talking too. The poor manager also was going around having to clean up tables she was supposed to be cleaning and taking orders. Overall not a good experience. If I ever go back I will make sure to ask for a different waitress. read more

The service was so slow, we sat 40 minutes waiting on 3 biscuit breakfasts. Not many people in the restaurant but all they worried about was carry out. Slow on pouring coffee refills. Has really gone downhill. The food was good when we finally got it tho. read more

Very unwelcoming environment. You're not greeted when you walk into the facility (not for dine-in or carryout). I had a pickup order, and I witnessed staff bickering and having a poor attitude toward each other. No one said hello or asked why I was waiting at the counter. The employee, who should have been helping me, was so focused on proving a point with her co-worker that she dropped my order on the counter in front of me and then turned around to her co-worker and said, "there... done," and walked away. No greeting, no asking if I needed anything else, and no "have a nice day." Being kind and respectful (toward co-workers and customer) isn't a hard thing to do. It's part of customer service. Oh, and my carryout order had no utensils or napkins. Food is typical Bob Evans food--but the attitude of staff and overall service needs work. read more

I like this particular restaurant and always have. Again, growing up with this location, my home town. It has always felt comfortable, warm, and inviting to me. The food is always prepared how I expect it to be. I love the pancakes and I love the French dressing for the salad. They have many delicious entrees and the biscuits and gravy is always delicious. read more

On Monday, March 12 at 8:40 pm, a group approximately 15 people (myself and my husband included) showed up at this restaurant. You see, that evening, we'd all been at a local funeral home for the visitation/calling hours before our grandfather's funeral the next day. After calling hours were over, we asked our grandmother where she'd like to eat and decompress. She asked us to join her at Bob Evans, so we searched for the closest and drove there in groups. My husband and I were the first to arrive and went in to talk to the manager on duty, Todd. See, we knew the restaurant closed at 9 and wanted to see if they could accommodate us. My husband worked in the service industry for 20+ years and knew that our arrival could be met with resistance or annoyance, and the size of our group was asking a lot. After explaining the situation to Todd, he assured us that his restaurant would be happy to take care of us, and started setting up a table for our group. We were at that restaurant until probably 10:15 or 10:30 and received amazing service from the team. Our waitress Courtnie was incredibly attentive, efficient, managed our party with ease, and made sure that our experience was pleasant. We did not have a chance to get the names of anyone who worked in the kitchen that night, but our food was delicious, fast, and very well made, which isn't always the case at that time of night in any restaurant. Todd and other team members checked out as periodically to make sure we had what we needed. We couldn't have asked for more. After an emotionally difficult and exhausting day, the team at this Bob Evans stepped up to give our family the opportunity to connect, break bread, and relax a little. They didn't have to take care of us the way they did, and we are grateful for their willingness to accommodate us at the hour they did. This team deserves the recognition they should get for going above and beyond, and we are all very grateful. read more

The waitress was really good. But the food was not the greatest. I got the mini sampler 1 egg hashbrowns, bacon and toast. I asked for the hashbrowns to be extra crisp. Rubbery would describe them better. Egg and bacon was perfectly cooked but cold. We were a party of 8. But the food sat in the window for 10 mins before delivery to us. This restaurant is one of my all time favorites. I've been to many Bob Evans in various locations, and I always like to compare them to this one. The staff is friendly most of the time, the food is usually done, and the wait time is not that bad. You also see the manager out serving people and asking or opinions which is great. We chose to have a late breakfast while in the area today (10/7/14 arriving at 10:30) and chose Bob Evans simply because it was closer than Shoney's a few blocks further down the street. It took nearly five minutes to be seated and the restaurant wasn't even half full. Only when the hostess came did we notice that she was standing talking to another employee a mere 10 ft in front of us while she occasionally glanced in our direction. After we got seated the server did arrive after a few minutes and took our order. Unfortunately we had to remind her to bring our toast, then she forgot our butter and she never did bring any jelly or jam. My wife relayed to me that the grits were flavorless, quite runny and lacked any seasoning. I think the last response from the cashier (who may also have been the manager) really topped off a bad experience. When I mentioned the blandness and lack of seasoning of the grits, she brushed it off by stating that grits were bland by nature and most people put maple syrup on them to give them flavor! Next time we'll drive past this restaurant and try Shoney's after all! read more

I used Dover Ohio Bob Evens, catering for a Christmas party. I can not tell you what a wonderful experience it was. I could not have made that food for the price of 109.00 dollar. We got turkey, ham, mash. pots.,green bean,corn, stuffing,cranberry sauce, rolls,pumpkin bread, pumpkin pie, whipped cream and an apple pie. It was such a wonderful experience. The food was out of this world good. No fussing over a hot stove for me. The best part of leaving the cooking to Bob Even is amazing food and more time with your family. Thank you Bob Evens for a wonderful Christmas party dinner!!!! Would HIGHLY recommend leaving the cooking to Bob Evans!!! read more
