Been quite a while (several years) since I've had a truly good breakfast at Bob Evans (BE). My wife and I used to enjoy their omelets, particularly the previously offered border scramble omelet. Decent size and bold flavor. This disappeared from the menu either after BE was bought out by Golden Gate Capital in 2017 or after Post Holding bought out the now spun-off restaurant side of the BE business. Nevertheless, we decided to give our local BE another chance today, Valentine's Day. Should have known better and dined at First Watch instead. We were initially optimistic when we saw the Rio Grande omelet on the BE menu, thinking they had brought back the border scramble omelet under a different name. We were wrong. The omelets were smaller (a 3-egg omelet ostensibly, must be sparrow eggs), barely warm (heat-wise, slab of apparent provolone cheese tossed in like an afterthought and still solid), bland tasting (none of the previous spicy ground beef-based topping and cheddar cheese, just a bit of cold salsa and a small spoonful of sour cream). The eggs didn't seem to be fresh scrambled, possibly something akin to Eggbeaters. Had the strange texture and consistency of Nutrisystem omelets. Led us to wonder if the omelets came pre-packaged and were merely microwaved on site. OK, moving on to the "brioche stye" French toast. Mmm, not so much. Just normal thin-sliced white bread. The slices were overcooked (slightly blackened on one side) and undercooked (if flipped at all) on the other side. This left a slightly bitter taste on one side with the overall internal texture being soggy or doughy. I probably might have been better off with a slice of pie and a couple cups of coffee. I understand some of the fault here may have been in the local preparation and not entirely a result of corporate recipe choices, but as far as BE in Cuyahoga Falls, OH is concerned, I cannot recommend this breakfast combination. On a positive note, we were seated quickly, the restaurant was clean, waitress was friendly and attentive, and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. So, not an entirely bad experience. This may have been a one off based more on kitchen staff performance. Might be worth trying a different, perhaps more rural location. read more

I was in town for my wife's graduation. She is from Arizona so had never seen or been to a Bob Evans so figured she should try it out. Nothing much has changed - still kind of got that old diner feel. Had a regular chatting me up about my girls. Food was ok - nothing to write home about. Took a hot minute to get seated. read more

Very poorly managed. Even when trying to pay the bill, management decides it is a good time to either do inventory or place an order for the candy upfront and ignore us standing there waiting to pay. Sadly this restaurant location really shouldn't be in business read more

I am a DoorDash driver and this Bob Evans shows me nothing good. The worst spot on my route! Always rude and seldom on time. Yet again today I was displeased with the treatment I received... and the order was late. It's not personal--- it's just sloppiness. When someone finally spoke to me, they instantly told me "that'll be awhile." Meanwhile, another driver came in. She was told that her pickup would "be awhile." She went into the bathroom and her pickup was instantly up. Just sloppy. These people treat drivers as if we are an intrusion. :/ read more

I frequent Bob Evans often, and I love their salads. Specifically their Wildfire Chicken Salad. I ordered this salad on March 8,2022 and found a long black hair in my salad. After dealing with a manager who hung up on me mid call and only offered to remake my food, I was very frustrated. I work in food service and understand accidents happen, so I let it go. Today (March 17, 2022) I ordered this salad again. And once again, found a LONG BLACK HAIR IN MY FOOD. I already ate half of it before I noticed and am unsure of what else I ingested. I will never give this location my business again. If I could give 0 stars I would, and I have taken it upon myself to report this to the Health Department. We ate at 4pm and the place was pretty empty, it was clean and the people were very nice althought our waiter could have been more friendly but service was on point. We each had chicken dinners, the honey chicken & a biscut and a breaded chicken breast dinner. Here is the issue, the quality of the chicken was garbage, a rubbery texture, and I could not get through the 2nd piece of meat & forced myself to eat one. Yuck the best thing I had there was the mashed potatoes. Bob Evans use to be a place I frequently ate, and always had a good home cooked feel to it. Went into this establishment as a customer, 3 employees walked right past me didn't ask if I needed help or anything. I stood there for another 10 mins. Meanwhile two other couples walk in and were sat at a table. When I finally noticed the manager and I said "excuse me"? Without even even asking what I needed he said "DoorDash and Pick ups are on the table" and walked away. I was not there for any DoorDash or pick up orders. I don't work for any of those companies. Ordered take out. It was ready and waiting when I arrived. Staff was helpful and friendly. BUT, I ordered 2 turkey meals with gravy on the side and they forgot the gravy entirely. I had the new protein veggie bowl and it was soggy ( I also thought big globs of steamed spinach inside the bowl didn't work in this dish). My guess is that they packaged it up right away and it got too steamy making everything in the bowl soggy by the time I picked it up. The pick area was very clean and tidy. My husband and I entered this location at 4:30 pm. We stood at the hostess desk several minutes as the manager and an employee chatted. No, We'll be right with you...I finally asked if we should just seat ourselves. The employee seated us with menus and Silverware. No one came for 15 minutes to ask about drinks or our order. If circumstances were different and the place was busy, I could understand the mix up; but I ordered two orders of home fries slightly burnt & received one order of cold and barely toasted hashbrowns. Our waitress was polite but not really all there...but I get it. I used to work from 6am to 1:10 am (usually 2am the next day) if I was lucky @ the Bainbridge location; Bob Evans is one of those jobs that will suck the life out of you. But regardless of which location I've visited (Streetsboro, Kent, Twinsburg included) they're all terrible. Every food item is so bland and the staff always seems sad & depressed. But again, I give these people credit- if you tip them using a credit/debit card they never get 100% of their hard earned tip. And if you use cash, it's not much better, they only get a small percentage.If I only made roughly $4.00 hourly and maybe got tipped I'd be dead inside too. read more

My husband and I went to this Bob Evans with family when we were in town for 4th of July 2 years ago. The food and service were excellent. We had to wait for a table, but on a Saturday morning that is to be expected and the wait wasn't that long. There were 9 in our party so they needed 2 tables. I typically love Bob Evans for eat in breakfast. Take out orders are a different story. Often items are not included so check your bags before you leave. Just stopped by to pick up a salad they forgot to include yesterday. Good customer service would dictate the offer of a gift card or small item to compensate me for my inconvenience. Absolutely horrible. I went there with my fiancée for dinner, and the service was just ridiculous. We ordered the smokehouse burger and turkey dinner and the turkey dinner came out cold and the stuffing looked like vomit, and tasted nothing better than vomit as well. The burger was fine but nothing special. Took the server 15 minutes to get me ketchup when there's no one else they're serving. We questioned why the turkey didn't taste good and her response was "I don't know why they don't taste that good today" she also dipped her finger in my coleslaw while giving me a dirty look. We finished up and went to pay for our dinner via credit card and the cashier slammed the pen and receipt on the table for me to sign. From start to finish was a upsetting experience. It started with the hostess. The lobby was empty when I showed up on a Friday morning but I still had to wait. The hostess neglected to tell me how long the wait was for 5 ppl. Irritating but not a deal breaker. The food came for everyone else at the table besides me. I ordered the farmers choice. I came here for dinner with my two kids. They ordered kids meals and I ordered the sirloin steak. I wish I could post a picture on yelp! My "steak" looked like the neck of a turkey that is pulled from the carcass. I told the waitress "I'm sorry but I can't eat this" the girl said "eww! I'm sorry Ill get my manager". The manager came over and said "we've been having really bad problems with our meat distributor lately." Seriously?!! What manager in their right mind would let food that awful looking to be served, but then admits that they have problems with their meat?! So he took the steak off of my bill (but charged me with the mediocre soup) and he added a side of bacon and a strawberry iced tea (both were never ordered) to my bill to make up for the amount!!!! I told the waitress I didn't order these so that same manager took off the tea but moved the bacon to under one of the kids meals on the check! Like I wouldn't notice! So they took off the imaginary side of bacon, dropped off the check, without an apology and didn't return to the table. I was not rude to any of the employees yet still I had to stand up like an idiot until I could get the attention of a girl bussing tables to ask her for a box for my daughters strawberry bread (which was the only success for the day). A friend and I did 'curb side pick up' a few weeks ago. We ordered the Broasted Chicken Sandwich and 2 Cobb Salads. The final bill was well over $20.00. When we got home, my friend started on their Chicken Sandwich and then asked me what broasted Chicken was. I explained and they said that's what they thought it was but their sandwich wasn't broasted chicken, it was fried. I told them to call Bob Evan's but they said no and that it was okay. The following day when I opened a Cobb Salad for dinner, I noticed it was NOT a Cobb Salad. I opened the second salad and it was NOT a Cobb Salad either! I paid over $9.00 a piece for these salads and half the toppings were missing! The salads did have chicken, bacon and tomatoes but neither salad had bleu cheese, scallions, a boiled egg or cheddar cheese!! I literally got less than half the salad I ordered and paid OVER $9.00 a piece for it!! I was furious!! To make matters worse, I went online to submit a complaint and was unable to do tht!! When you click on the page to submit a complaint, the page is conveniently 'unavailable!' I loved Bob Evan's Cobb Salads but I will NEVER order one again unless I'm seated inside the restaurant where I can send something as simple as a salad back to the kitchen four times until they get it right!! Bob Evans is a good place to go to get a decent meal at a decent price. Nothing fancy but homey. I like the country fried steak the best. The quality is consistent. I went to the location in C Falls today. Our server was nice but inattentive. It took 5 minutes for her to acknowledge us and take our order. It took another 10 minutes to get our drinks. She was very nice, though and did thank us at the end for our patience. The thing is, the restaurant was not busy at the time. My husband had the cole slaw and the recipe was a little bit off from the usual. The rest of the meal was pretty much the same as usual. My experience today at this Bob Evans would actually warrant a score of zero (0) stars if it were possible to give one. I arrived at the restaurant at approximately 9:30 am. The restaurant was not that busy and many tables were open. I was almost immediately seated, and shortly after that a waitress approached the table and took my drink order. She returned with my water in short order and took my food order. Approximately 20 minutes later, a different waitress brought my French toast to the table. As I was buttering the French toast, the original waitress came by the table to check on my opinion of the food and said something to the effect that I had not yet taken my first bite of the food. I informed her that I had just gotten the food and she kept moving. I took my first bite and it was lukewarm. Not wanting to assume that it was all lukewarm, I took another bite and it was also not very warm. So I tried to get the attention of a waitress but could not without yelling so I took my plate up to the counter and asked if someone could heat (microwave) the food so that I could eat it. The original waitress then appeared from somewhere and asked if I wanted to get fresh food. I told her that I would eat the original food if I could get it heated. I gave the plate back to the waitress who brought the food to my table and waited at the counter for her to bring it back out to me. It didn't take long to get it back and I went back to my table to eat. I ate one piece which had been warmed up but the second piece was still just lukewarm so I didn't eat that piece. I sat at the table for another 15-20 minutes waiting for my check. (Really, the only reason that I waited so long was to see how long it would take to get someone to stop by the table.) Finally, the original waitress came to take the order of another table of "customers" who had just been seated nearby and, after taking their order, turned around to me as I was just rising to go to the cash register as I had reached the end of my patience, to tell me to tell the guy at the register that I was at table 23. At 10:30, I was at the register and the waitress was there giving the guy at the register my check. I was virtually ignored for the my entire extended time at this restaurant. I believe that my food sat for an extended period of time waiting to be brought to my table by a person who was not the least bit interested in getting it to me. I hope that the management of this restaurant will take heed to their reviews and address the issues that have been sited in them. read more

I get breakfast every now and then, and I'm only ever there in the morning. I'm rating this place 3 stars because the food is good, the environment is as good as you can expect from a restaurant, and I've only had a problem once before. If I had to choose between Denny's and Bob Evans, I would choose this. read more
