Rueben sandwich, fries and beer on draft
    Kate T.

My husband and I stopped here on our way to Amish Country and it did not disappoint. From the service, the atmosphere, and the food. It was all spot on. I got the Main Line grilled cheese with the fries. Let me tell you...I was a little leery of lobster being fresh in downtown Coshocton, but it was! The sandwich was huge and the fries were thinly sliced and fried to perfection. My husband got the Rueben and was equally as impressed. He said that the homemade Thousand Island dressing was delicious, it was obvious that the sauerkraut was homemade and not from a can. He raved about the rye bread too. It was also made in house. My only complaint is that my stomach was not large enough to eat my entire sandwich and all of my fries!! I opted for the sandwich. lol We're so glad we found this gem and will be back!

Amish Country at its best!…read more This is a gem of a restaurant. We found this place thanks to the great reviews on Yelp. We were not familiar with Baltic, Ohio, yet we were so happy we found this place. The staff was so friendly and welcoming, it felt like we were eating in someone's home. Christian, the manager, could have not done anything more to accommodate us. He really went out of his way to enhance our experience. Our waitress, Arlene, had told us she had been there for several years and you could really tell this by her ability to help us through the menu. She wanted to make sure we were completely satisfied. The menu was one like I had never seen before. Everything from a large breakfast selection to Wagyu and Prime steaks. I had the best Ruben sandwich I had ever eaten ( that is saying a lot). We also shared the Wagyu filet with hand cut fries and sweet potato fries. The steak was sautéed with fresh mushrooms and onions. The steak was seasoned to absolute perfection. You have to try this. I have posted pictures of the menu. Don't forget a side order of homemade mac & cheese. Their prices are extremely reasonable considering the quality of the food and the impeccable service. The decor is perfect. Simple yet very pretty. They even have a nice area (living room style) that we hung out in until our table was ready. This Amish restaurant is the "best of the best". I will be back in this area next year and will be sure to make this my go to restaurant. Bravo to the staff and chef, well done.

Frankly, I didn't hate or love it. I just don't see a reason to make a trip there other than a…read morelack of competition. Food = Jalapeño popper dip was good. Pork chop was cooked alright, but definitely needed a sauce to add some flavor as it was bland. Coconut mango rice was sad (my wife is filipino so she knows a bit about rice, mangoes, and coconut). I had the reuben and it was alright. I don't understand why all the steaks and fish are "market price" on the menu. This is not a fancier restaurant that serves wagyu, why can you not figure out how to price half of your meats? Service = Good with no problems. Restaurant = Stylish, Spacious, and Clean.

Now it isn't uncomfortably spicy but you get some burn. Secondly, the chili is THICK! (My pic showed my spoon standing up in the chili). The chili dog was good, probably the same chili, as it was not a coney. I'm used to a coney sauce with a bit more onion but theirs was good. Service was excellent as our waitress took care of our table and others near us. The environment was not quiet, it bordered on loud but we could carry on conversations. The real key is would I return? Yes, tomorrow would be great. Their menu has so many options I could eat here five days in a row and not get the same thing.

The place was clean and open and really big. Several older couples out having dinner. Your diner fare on the menu. My wife got the hot turkey sandwich and I got the club. We both agreed that the sandwiches were ok but not out of this world. The fries were really good. The coney dog was tasty and just the right amount of toppings to keep it from getting super sloppy. The Pies! Well, that is a different deal. We were full so we took ours to go but man...the variety of pies is great and the taste! Man oh man...they got their pie game on. Both choices we picked (Oreo and lemon meringue) were top choices. Sooooooooooo good. Again, worth the stop. Food was average but the pies...yeah, definitely worth the stop.

The greenhouse is beautifully laid out with an incredible selection of flowers, hanging baskets, annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables, shrubs, and so much more. Everywhere you look there's another burst of color, and it's obvious they take great pride in caring for their plants. Everything looked healthy, vibrant, and ready to thrive once you got it home. What I really appreciated was how peaceful the greenhouse felt. There was no pressure to hurry, so we were able to take our time walking through the aisles, admiring all the different varieties, and picking out our favorites. The staff was friendly and welcoming, answering questions without ever making us feel rushed. It's the kind of customer service you hope to find at a family-owned business. Whether you're looking to add some color to your flower beds, spruce up your porch with beautiful hanging baskets, or simply enjoy browsing one of the nicest greenhouses in Amish Country, Yoder's Greenhouse is absolutely worth the visit. We'll definitely be making another stop the next time we're in the area. If you're taking a day trip through Amish Country, be sure to add Yoder's Greenhouse to your list--you won't be disappointed!

AMISH KITCHEN COOKING…read more A big restaurant where you'll notice some Amish women working while wearing their traditional white head covering or bonnet. I visited Der Dutchman restaurant for the first time in Walnut Creek, Ohio in late July 2025 with 3 guy friends and 2 female friends. We drove down from Cleveland to visit sites in Amish Country (Millersburg and Berlin). We had just finished touring the Yoder Amish Homes property (over an hour tour in the heat) and after the fun tour we all were hungry for lunch. Der Dutchman came up on a Yelp search so we decided to visit. FOOD (see attached pics) -- Typical home cooking. Served buffet style. Reminds me of Hometown Buffet in Columbus but that restaurant doesn't exist anymore. The menu is large so you will definitely find something that you like. I got fried chicken, shredded beef, mashed potatoes, string green beans, and a side salad. I also got a second plate of food which I think was just another piece of chicken because guests can enjoy "all you can eat"; although, I didn't get too much food neither did I fill my plate up in my original serving. Plenty of options to choose from, including protein (chicken, fish, beef), salads, carbs (rice, mashed potatoes), and dessert. SERVICE -- friendly and efficient. The lunch time was busy but our waiter greeted us, brought water and bread rolls to our table and checked on our table during lunch. If you're visiting Amish country for the day like my friends and I did, then stop by Der Dutchman. It's a well talked about hometown favourite. All 6 of us enjoyed our time.
