I brought my father in for Father's Day the place was packed!!! I was very impressed as the staff was on it The servers were great. The host were awesome. It was like a big family event.!!! I have ordered BobEvens takeout before and had a very nice experience l. This time was so disappointing. We ordered the pot roast meal with sides that was supposed to feed 6 people. We received enough pot roast for maybe 2 servings. The manager stated that we received the correct amount. Having ordered several meals from them before I knew this was not correct. We tend to frequent Bob Evans while on road trips, this visit was no different. At least, is stopping... service on the other hand, after being seated left a lot to be desired. We were seated very quickly, which was surprising as several vehicles arrived about the same time we did. After that, it went down hill fast. We waited about 5 minutes for a drink order, not too long. Then it was maybe 15 minutes before our drinks arrived. 1 coffee, 3 OJs. We ordered at that time. 2 kids meals (pancakes and French toast sticks) with fruit and 2 Sunrise breakfast (eggs, potato's and toast). We waited about 25 minutes for this. Food delivered, no jelly for the toast. One order of eggs was for Over-medium. Server drop and took off, did not see her again until she quickly passed by dropping the bill off. Zero coffee refills, even by other servers passing with a carafe, with us clearly holding our cup out for more. The over-medium eggs were so undercooked they were even under cooked for over-easy eggs standards. The whites were still raw. I ended up eating whatever wasn't raw because I couldn't waste any more time and we needed to get back on the road. All this still took over an hour. When we checked out, we told the cashier and she just shrugged, oh well. I'm really disappointed that this location wasn't up to typical Bob Evans standards or our experiences over the last 40+ years at other Bob Evans around the US. read more

The staff was awesome. The food was terrible, unhealthy, and overpriced and the music was hokey. Due to being on a somewhat restricted diet for medical reasons, I ordered the healthiest looking breakfast option - steel cut oatmeal with strawberries and bananas - and it came with candied pecans and strawberry syrup. My little guy really liked his pig face pancakes, I'll admit that was cute. Don't eat here, but if you do eat here, be nice to the staff. They were working hard, and the service was flawless. The waitress took forever to take our drink order and had a nasty attitude. She acted like she didn't wanna be there. I asked for pancakes. It was RAW. Raw food isn't good for you. My Dad and I stopped here for Sunday breakfast on the way out to a Buffalo Bills game. After a 10 minute wait, we were seated and ordered two hot coffees. The hot coffee was not too strong, nor too weak. The place was very busy, but the service was still decent. I got plenty of coffee refills (I needed them for the drive). I ordered the very filling Border Scramble Omelet (I had this Mexican omelet substituted with Egg Beaters) and served with home fries and biscuits. In area for business. Bob Evans is walking distance from hotel. My first visit to a Bob Evans. Basically the same as an iHop. Food was quick- 2 eggs over easy w/chicken fried steak & gravy. Eggs was done well, Chicken Fry maybe a little over done. Since I was not in mood to drive downtown to restaurant row, it was okay. Normally this would not be 1st choice while traveling. Cracker Barrel would be better choice if location was available. If you not looking for anything special and eggs will satisfy your hunger, try it. If not, head downtown to restaurant row. read more

Welcomed with the intense smell of urine when we walked in, however, rest room door is adjacent to the entrance so I let it go but the food was terrible. My husband ate two bites of his steak tip omelette and said something wasn't right with it and it tasted rancid so he pushed it aside and moved to his sausage add-on, which tasted like perfume or cleaning solution. (I tried a bite to confirm.) Needless to say, he left hungry. Quite a wait even though it wasn't busy and waitress served everyone's meals and only half of mine then forgot about the rest of it. $80 for a family of four (plus tip) for terrible food and service, you can do better, Bob. When waitress served my bacon, her coworker came out and shouted at her, "You took the rest of the bacon!" Waitress didn't question the untouched food and my husband wasn't going to say anything, but I kindly mentioned the sausage from a safety concern for other patrons. We went on a VERY slow Tuesday evening at 6:15 and there was only one other table eating and another on the way out (should've recognized this as a bad sign). A friend and I recently visited this Bob Evans in Corning, NY. I have been a huge fan of Bob Evans since living in Florida for 13-years, however the meal we had was well below my expectations. We met at 2:00 pm so ordered lunch type meals. I ordered a Swiss mushroom burger that comes with french fries. The burger was just ok but when the fries arrived, they were brown and very crunchy. I do like my fries on the crunchy side, but these fries were way over done. I frankly couldn't believe the cook would send them out or that the waitress would deliver them to our table. I did ask for a different plate which came to me the way I like them. I'm giving them a three because if you go at breakfast or order off the breakfast menu you are almost always guaranteed a good meal. I'm thinking next time my friend and I meet it will be at Friendly's or Panera's. read more

The vacation went too fast. Atmosphere - Typical chain restaurant. Which includes tables that are way too close to each other. Food Drink - Just water as I had a lot of coffee at home already. Breakfast - My daughter and I both wanted the cinnamon pancakes but she only wanted a half over. They probably would have done two instead of four. But I decided to take two of hers for my breakfast. I took the bottom two pancakes so she could have the whip cream topping, yeah I know I a great dad. Really I just did not want the whip cream. The pancakes were as if a cinnamon roll and pancake merged. Which I love the idea. Pancake batter with large amounts of cinnamon drizzled with sour cream frosting. I also ordered a side of biscuits and gravy. Gravy comes in a bowl. For two biscuits there was not enough gravy to soak them the way I like. The gravy was just there, not enough sausage and not hot enough. Service - Our waitress and the rest of the staff are super friendly. Probably helps that my parents know them as they are regulars. As for food delivery it was a mess. She was handing food to the wrong person. Meal items were split apart. My wife's food had to be reordered from the kitchen as it never came out. I've been looking forward to trying this place someone told me they made really good food a coworker and I went to breakfast here the server was kind and very accommodating, letting us sit whatever we wanted, It seemed like like a typical diner. My coworkers fork was dirty. He asked the server for another one. She went and grabbed him one got coming back and said oh this one's dirty too, turned back around and went and got him another fork. the food was less than OK. I decided to go with the farmhand breakfast which consisted of a sausage, egg biscuit and a bacon egg biscuit with home fries and sausage gravy. The sandwiches were not too bad, but the gravy was disgusting. It was a very dark color almost tasted like a roast beef gravy. I asked the server what it was, and she assured me it was supposed to be sausage gravy, and the home fries were dark from being deep fried, I assume very dirty grease they tasted horrible. I don't get why this place has a bad review. We had a great experience and loved everything we got. I had the sunshine skillet and that was fantastic. The white gravy they put in it totally made it top notch. I like that they have the sausage ground up so you get some in every bite vs. having it in cut up pieces. The biscuits it came with were great as well. My mom had the French toast and it was also very good. A large piece of toast and it was nicely cooked and tasted great. The staff is also very nice and they all seem to enjoy their jobs there. For a chain restaurant they are great and this was actually my first time coming to a Bob Evans and I have to say that it was a great experience. read more

Stopped for lunch on our weekend get away as it's close to the interstate. It's a chain, so typical chain food. Seated right away, server was attentive although service was really slow. Used the restroom which really need a good cleaning, so not the cleanest place. Food was good, hot and fresh, and bill was ok for two of us. However after my friend came back from the bathroom, the check out person asked me if we were ready to pay. I was a little perplexed as I had just paid the bill a couple minutes prior, she actually asked to see my receipt! I obliged and we left perplexed at how the cashier could not remember two people from a couple minutes ago, probably explains the slow service! lol read more

This is the worst Bob Evans I ever ate at. We got seated and took about 10 mins before waitress came. I ordered chicken noodle soup and grill cheese sandwich. Chicken noodle soup awful. The broth was all water and the noodles were hard. Grill cheese came with one little slice of cheese and it was on the one side of the bread so the other side was only bread. I sent it back. Needed breakfast on my way home from Geneseo. My experience with Bob Evans has always been positive. They do eggs, sausage patties and hash browns well and they have good coffee. The staff has always been friendly and the service is good although on weekends when they get busy service slows down. But they are consistent from location to location. read more

My wife and I were in Corning to work on some estate papers for a deceased relative. We had arranged to meet someone from town for dinner and he picked Bob Evans. I'm not sure there are a whole lot of choices in Corning. I had previously noted that the two centers of excitement on a snowy Saturday morning were the downtown Dunkin Donuts and nearby McDonalds. With choices like that, the local population must be doing its full part to further the national obesity and prediabetic epidemics. Any way, Bob Evans is a fast food place, so I ordered an omelette with dry toast. My wife also ordered something that would be hard to get wrong. The third party, our guest, ordered some meat dish that appeared to have reduced the local woodchuck population. My food came without the toast. The waitress, who seemed bored with her job, told me there was a shift change and that her replacement would take care of my toast and dessert. The replacement eventually came over after I went looking for him. He seemed overloaded, so maybe the place was short staffed. We passed on dessert. I suggest you go with McDonalds. At least, it is predictable in terms of the food and the service, and there is just as much room to sit down. Better yet, drive to Ithaca or Elmira and find some place decent to eat. read more

As I dont want 2 meals of turkey on Thanksgiving, came to Bob Evans for a nice salad. When we arrived, they gave us a 1 page menu with a choice of turkey and ham....or turkey and country fried steak....with 3 sides, dinner bread and dessert. I asked for the typical menu and was told that is all they were serving. I asked if I could just get a salad...even a little side salad. Was told they didnt make any (?)? Apparently they need time to grow the lettuce. My daughter ordered turkey, corn and mac & cheese. The server repeated her order (but didnt write it down). The restaurant is pretty empty...maybe 2-3 other tables. The server brought out the plate with 2 dried out pieces of turkey, mac & cheese and mashed potatoes on the side. She then told us she put the gravy on the side "to be safe" because she wasn't sure if my daughter wanted it on the mashed potatoes. I said she ordered corn not potatoes so she didn't need the gravy......the server said she could keep the potatoes (that she didn't want) and brought her a bowl of corn. If they were busy, I get it. But they are empty....... Turkey was too dry to eat.....even with ketchup. read more
