The following review is based on experiences before the COVID-19 pandemic: Stopped by this Bob Evans on my way up to Toronto before the pandemic hit. I've been to several Bob Evans locations across the nation and was pleasantly surprised by my visit. I experienced friendly service in a comfortable dining room with clean tables and not too much noise from other diners. Like every Bob Evans location, I love the combination of low prices and abundance of choice available. Here's my thoughts on the different items I tried: Chicken fried steak - Super creamy sauce on nice tender pork with a light breading that doesn't distract from the flavor. Rolls - Super fluffy and full of butter Garden salad - Was nice and fresh though I wish the lettuce as a little more crisp. The croutons were very crunch and I liked how the honey mustard dressing was not too sweet. Green beans - A bit on the soft side, not a huge fan Mashed potatoes - The consistency was a bit gritty for me but it had just the right amount of butter and pepper. Fried chicken - Super crispy and marinated with the right amount of saltiness with a good flavor of buttermilk Hash browns - Cooked nice and meaty with a good crisp Mac and cheese - Tender noodles though the sauce was a bit thin for me Banana bread - Slightly chewy with a strong butter flavor, good amount of nuts Reese's cookie - Large soft cookie with nice aromatic peanut butter infused in the dough and in the candy bit. Overall, the food was served at a fairly good temperature with good prices and large portions. As bad as McDonalds is with ensuring orders are correct, this location of Bob Evans is far worse. They always make excuses for incorrect orders, when there are ZERO excuses. I stopped here after a trip to Nashville with my family. This BE is conveniently located just off I-69 on US-12 in Coldwater. This is pretty much a typical Bob Evans. Our waitress Lora Sue was nice and had a very funny laugh. The food was good and it was everything that you would expect. read more

The food tasted like typical Bob Evans food but the service here is atrocious. There were five employees visible and 7 tables full. I waited over 5 minutes with no greeting to be seated. And I had to wait 20 minutes to get my bill after I asked. In between was bad as well. i do not recommend this restaurant. Had to run into Coldwater to get some materials for a job I was working on and I wanted to get something carryout that I could eat later when I got home. As I was going to jump on I-69 to travel south, I decided that some Bob Evans chicken and noodles soup would do the job. At least I hoped it would as I was going to drve by a dozen restaraunts. I was about ten minutes away from Bob Evans and figured I would call in an order, pick it up, and hop back on the highway to head back. Google gave me the number, they answered quick, offered rolls with it as an upgrade, and told me it would be ten minutes; perfection I thought. So I left the store I was at, got caught up at a few lights, and still made it to Bob Evans right on time. I thought they might be closed as it looked like there wasn't a car in the parking lot. Thinking my order would be ready was a mistake because they hadn't even started filling it and it took another ten minutes in the store. I hate to give Bob Evans a two rating but there is no excuse for the time it took to get a container, open the warmer, and use the ladle to fill it full of soup. They did not make it special for me as I watched them fill it as I was standing around. If they were busy I would understand the delay, but they weren't and I was annoyed. There was no apology for the wait or my delay which would have made me feel a little better. I like Bob Evans and I did not like the service at the Coldwater location. The chicken and noodles was tasty but it was made at a factory somewhere and not at the store itself so I can't speak to how well they do in their kitchen, just that they know how to warm something up and slowly serve it to you. read more

I would recommend not going to this bob evans because of the lack of quality in the food. They did not cook the pancakes and the vegetables all the way, the food was very greasy and me and my family did not enjoy eating at this restaurant. I feel like if they actually cooked the food all the way people would come more often to eat at this restaurant, I've seen better and I would not eat here again. Stopped here on a holiday weekend returning to Michigan from the Indy 500. The line to get in was long despite the fact that half the restaurant was empty. There were 4 servers for the entire restaurant, so they and the manager took turns seating diners and cashing them out. The set-up was dysfunctional and customers were visibly annoyed. When we ordered, the server was courteous; however, it was clear that the restaurant was under-staffed. Requests required 15+ minutes to be met. The food was served luke warm and became cold while waiting for a request to be met. Overall, the food itself was what you would expect for a Bob Evans. Already prepared frozen components of dishes re-heated for service. Nothing was made from scratch or "home style". Honestly, if you are looking for a place to sit down and talk with family and friends and you don't mind waiting, then this place is ideal. If you are in a hurry or if you are expecting a better-than-fast-food quality meal, then this is not the place for you. Lastly, our server was an amazing, sweet, experienced lady. We normally go to another location but we were in Coldwater and decided to try this one. My chicken pot pie was overcooked and had about 1/2 cup of filling under an enormous crust. My husband had dry, overcooked stuffing with his turkey. We showed the waitress the missing filling under the crust and her response was, "Oh, weird!" She didn't offer to make it right. This place is nothing like it was a few years ago. We can blame this on a steady cycle of "new management" every few months and with that comes a "new and fantastic way to run the restaurant". Basically it comes down to if you enjoy having breakfast at any time of the day. If you do, you will probably enjoy eating here. I left this place yesterday and was still starving.I asked for a turkey dinner STAT and was given a kiddie looking tray. I told my waitress that I didn't want the bread just turkey, dressing and potatoes. I didn't know you could get the dinner size. My plate had 3 slices of turkey, and a half Pound of dressing on the left and a half pound of mashed potatoes on the right with one ounce of gravy.Not a TUrKEy dinner.
