What you would expect from a. Hai restaurant not great but not bad at all. Ordered the French toast and chicken. Food was hot and chicken was tasty but French toast lacked some of the traditional flavors. Pretty good service and atmosphere is fine. read more

Bob Evans - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Coldwater, Michigan

The following review is based on experiences before the COVID-19 pandemic: Stopped by this Bob Evans on my way up to Toronto before the pandemic hit. I've been to several Bob Evans locations across the nation and was pleasantly surprised by my visit. I experienced friendly service in a comfortable dining room with clean tables and not too much noise from other diners. Like every Bob Evans location, I love the combination of low prices and abundance of choice available. Here's my thoughts on the different items I tried: Chicken fried steak - Super creamy sauce on nice tender pork with a light breading that doesn't distract from the flavor. Rolls - Super fluffy and full of butter Garden salad - Was nice and fresh though I wish the lettuce as a little more crisp. The croutons were very crunch and I liked how the honey mustard dressing was not too sweet. Green beans - A bit on the soft side, not a huge fan Mashed potatoes - The consistency was a bit gritty for me but it had just the right amount of butter and pepper. Fried chicken - Super crispy and marinated with the right amount of saltiness with a good flavor of buttermilk Hash browns - Cooked nice and meaty with a good crisp Mac and cheese - Tender noodles though the sauce was a bit thin for me Banana bread - Slightly chewy with a strong butter flavor, good amount of nuts Reese's cookie - Large soft cookie with nice aromatic peanut butter infused in the dough and in the candy bit. Overall, the food was served at a fairly good temperature with good prices and large portions. The flavors and textures were a bit better than some other Bob Evans locations I've been to and the service was friendly. read more

Missing food and the soup was so salty I had to throw it out. I tried to call and tell them it was wrong and all they had to say was oh sorry read more

It was cold enough for a jacket. The oil should've been changed in the fryer. We won't be going back.

I stopped here after a trip to Nashville with my family. This BE is conveniently located just off I-69 on US-12 in Coldwater. This is pretty much a typical Bob Evans. Our waitress Lora Sue was nice and had a very funny laugh. The food was good and it was everything that you would expect. read more

See all

The food was decent and the staff was friendly but items were missing from the meal that weren't replaced until our meal was almost done.

Very good service and food was very warm and delicious! Good atmosphere like most Bob Evan's restaurants with clean tables and the waitress was great! read more

This location needs to close. The management clearly can't do their jobs. The last three times we ordered, nothing was right. As bad as McDonalds is with ensuring orders are correct, this location of Bob Evans is far worse. They always make excuses for incorrect orders, when there are ZERO excuses. Everything is printed out. Close this location. You are far better off going elsewhere for dining out. Three strikes and your out. read more

Ok. Food was ok, nothing special. Glad we ordered take out, seems they have some staffing issues. Guests in lobby were not happy.

Would definitely come back to visit again. Darlynn was aboslutely phenomenal and amazing customer service as well as an amazing attitude about life and living! She made our morning with her positivity! read more

It was busy which was a good sign. However the hostess was completely disinterested. I get that it's hard to hire people right now and I figure they couldn't be choosy but I left without waiting. Went down the street to Coldwater Garden and the hostesses and wait staff actually seemed happy to see me. A bit difference. read more

I always enjoy breakfast at Bob Evans in Jackson and Coldwater Michigan. The service and food is good, at these locations. I enjoy the biscuits and gravy, satisfying and filling. read more

Best Bob Evans meal I've ever had in Coldwater. Some times in the past our dining experiences at this location have been ok or a little lacking, but today was FANTASTIC. Mikayla was our server and she was just GREAT. Very friendly, attentive and efficient. Thanks for a wonderful breakfast on the FIRST day of my vacation. read more

The food tasted like typical Bob Evans food but the service here is atrocious. There were five employees visible and 7 tables full. I waited over 5 minutes with no greeting to be seated. And I had to wait 20 minutes to get my bill after I asked. In between was bad as well. i do not recommend this restaurant. The employees are not service focused and seem like they are not interested in being at work at all. read more

Had to run into Coldwater to get some materials for a job I was working on and I wanted to get something carryout that I could eat later when I got home. As I was going to jump on I-69 to travel south, I decided that some Bob Evans chicken and noodles soup would do the job. At least I hoped it would as I was going to drve by a dozen restaraunts. I was about ten minutes away from Bob Evans and figured I would call in an order, pick it up, and hop back on the highway to head back. Google gave me the number, they answered quick, offered rolls with it as an upgrade, and told me it would be ten minutes; perfection I thought. So I left the store I was at, got caught up at a few lights, and still made it to Bob Evans right on time. I thought they might be closed as it looked like there wasn't a car in the parking lot. Thinking my order would be ready was a mistake because they hadn't even started filling it and it took another ten minutes in the store. I hate to give Bob Evans a two rating but there is no excuse for the time it took to get a container, open the warmer, and use the ladle to fill it full of soup. They did not make it special for me as I watched them fill it as I was standing around. If they were busy I would understand the delay, but they weren't and I was annoyed. There was no apology for the wait or my delay which would have made me feel a little better. I like Bob Evans and I did not like the service at the Coldwater location. The chicken and noodles was tasty but it was made at a factory somewhere and not at the store itself so I can't speak to how well they do in their kitchen, just that they know how to warm something up and slowly serve it to you. read more

I would recommend not going to this bob evans because of the lack of quality in the food. They did not cook the pancakes and the vegetables all the way, the food was very greasy and me and my family did not enjoy eating at this restaurant. I feel like if they actually cooked the food all the way people would come more often to eat at this restaurant, I've seen better and I would not eat here again. Overall the people were very nice but it seemed to be they were very lazy and did not take the time to cook me and my family's food all the way through. read more

Overall the food was pretty good, however service was rather slow and my moms meal was forgotten and my sisters was the wrong Oder. Tho are waitress was very apologetic for her mistakes and made up for them read more

DO NOT EAT here, food was truly disgusting and uneatable, floors were dirty, service was bad!!! Manager did not even come to ask what was wrong when we sent our food back, we were offered different food but we waiting over 20 mins the first time and had NO hope anything else would be better, when we paid and asked to speak to manager she was very rude and just made excuses. Avoid this Bob Evans!!! read more

Bob Evans - Found out after we ate there why there weren't many ppl there, it's truly awful! - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Coldwater, Michigan

Ordered a family size cheddar potato soup. It used to be good. This time it tasted like it was out of a can and there was no bacon. I could have bought a can of Progresso for 1/4 the cost. read more

We were hoping for a nice Sunday morning breakfast. After waiting 10 plus minutes after being seated with no service we approached the manager and told him we hadn't been waited on. There tables all around us that were being tended to. He acted like we were lying and was content to let us walk out the door. No offers to correct the situation. read more

Stopped in after running some errands in town. The Wife had blackened salmon, broccoli, and A baked potato. I subscribed to one of their famous breakfasts served all day long. I chose the country fried steak & eggs over medium with a little Tabasco pepper sauce on the side. We were happy with both entrees.the service was excellent and supersonic. read more

Stopped here on a holiday weekend returning to Michigan from the Indy 500. The line to get in was long despite the fact that half the restaurant was empty. There were 4 servers for the entire restaurant, so they and the manager took turns seating diners and cashing them out. The set-up was dysfunctional and customers were visibly annoyed. When we ordered, the server was courteous; however, it was clear that the restaurant was under-staffed. Requests required 15+ minutes to be met. The food was served luke warm and became cold while waiting for a request to be met. Overall, the food itself was what you would expect for a Bob Evans. Already prepared frozen components of dishes re-heated for service. Nothing was made from scratch or "home style". Honestly, if you are looking for a place to sit down and talk with family and friends and you don't mind waiting, then this place is ideal. If you are in a hurry or if you are expecting a better-than-fast-food quality meal, then this is not the place for you. Lastly, our server was an amazing, sweet, experienced lady. You won't have problems with customer service, but do expect a wait. read more

This food was OK, however the service sucked. My food was not on time, and I could tell they warmed it up in the microwave. The cheese on top was cold, and not even melted. I also found a pubic hair in my food. read more

Very, very, very slow service. The food is not or miss most of the time. Just depends on how busy they are or who cooks. If you're looking to eat in a hurry I wouldn't ever advice eating here. read more

We normally go to another location but we were in Coldwater and decided to try this one. My chicken pot pie was overcooked and had about 1/2 cup of filling under an enormous crust. My husband had dry, overcooked stuffing with his turkey. We showed the waitress the missing filling under the crust and her response was, "Oh, weird!" She didn't offer to make it right. Upon checkout when asked how everything was, we said, "Disappointing". The hostess said "Sorry to hear that, please put your credit card in the scanner." I know we will never come back! read more

Waited 45 minutes for them to bring out just 2 kid meals. Another 15 for 2 adult entrees. Server blamed it in a huge catering order. Guess that was our fault. She was very monotone. Other tables however came and left after and before us. We asked for a Manager and NEVER seen one. This was by far the worst breakfast service and poor management I have seen! read more

A couple that was seated before us received food before us. We waited over 20 minutes to get our food, once it arrived it was barely warm. The waitress did not apologize. We had to ask for coffee, butter and syrup. They overcharged us on our bill, that we had to get removed. Then when the manager handed us our bill the second time he said "it was a pleasure". No it was not. Will not be back to that bob evans. It was a terrible way to start off my birthday, day. read more

We went there for a carry out breakfast, quality was below terrible. We understand these trying times. We are traveling from Alabama to our home in Michigan. Long trying trip. Bob Evans has the worst quality of anyone for the 4 day, 2 meals a day trip. read more

This place is nothing like it was a few years ago. We can blame this on a steady cycle of "new management" every few months and with that comes a "new and fantastic way to run the restaurant". Basically it comes down to if you enjoy having breakfast at any time of the day. If you do, you will probably enjoy eating here. As far as price goes, this place is pretty average compared to other places around coldwater. You arent going to come here for 5 star service, but most of the workers at the coldwater location actually do care about the customer. read more

Ordered lunch for carry out. The order was ready on time and everything was in the bag! Much better service than previous visits. Staff was friendly and speedy! Much appreciated!!! read more

Slow! Waited for service and waited for food even longer! Food was good when it finally came. If you're in a hurry, go elsewhere.

Went for Sunday brunch at the steak and eggs home fries and rye toast the food was pretty good and so was the service definitely come back again maybe for dinner. read more

Would of gave no stars but they did seat me and give me a menu. But that's it. Had waitress in front of me thought it was more important to clean off the table than to be of service for me. I blame this totally on a bad manager.... Oh yea, he wasn't there! Silly me! Had to go to Applebee's down the street! No wonder this chain is going under. read more

We have been going to this restaurant for over 10 years and it was good. Now the last several times, it has been horrible food. We used to love the meatloaf..not anymore. Recipe has changed and it is salty with an off taste. Coconut creme pie used to be a favorite..not anymore. Tastes like chemicals not pure ingredients. Used to like the breakfast..not anymore. Everything this last time was so burned and we saw two other tables send burnt food back! We complained and were offered cookies...not accepted. We will not go again unless BE gets back to GOOD food. Service has been fine, that's the ONLY good point anymore. read more
