I visited Bob Evans for breakfast with my wife and we had a pleasant experience. The restaurant was clean and cozy, and the staff was friendly and attentive. Sam was awesome. We ordered the Double Blueberry Hotcakes. The food was delicious and satisfying, and the portions were generous. They were loaded with blueberries and topped with whipped cream. This restaurant is conveniently located a short walk from Holiday Inn Express & Suites, where we were staying. Overall, our meals were good. The banana bread was excellent. The carrots and broccoli were good. The grilled chicken breasts were flavorful but tough. Our waitress, Madison ("Madi"), had the best qualities of a server: attentive listener, efficient service, friendly smile, positive attitude. We questioned the gal who rang up our meals after her name appeared at the top of our receipt, replacing Madi's name as server (as was listed on the original ticket). We were concerned that Madi might not receive the well-deserved tip specified for her, but both gals assured us that she would. read more

What I can say about a Bob Evans is that I find it better than a Perkins or a Dennys though all are pretty much the same. As for this particular one, it falls into that "same as the rest" category with nothing of note setting it apart from any of the other Bob Evans I've been at. I was here for breakfast and had their "Country Fried Steak & Farm Fresh Eggs." Though I thought it rather skimpy on the country gravy, it was overall rather good in taste, flavor and texture. And though there was no way for me to determine whether or not the eggs were "farm fresh," I had them poached and found them to have been nicely done. read more

This place is NASTY. I love Bob Evans in Niles but ordered a door dash from this location. The food was thrown in the bag and not cared about. The food was inedible!!! My French toast had several HAIRS in it. The turkey sausage exploded and smelled rancid. The sunshine skillet was not nearly as big as you get in store. The hashbrowns were burnt. We did not even eat our food!! Thankfully door dash gave us our money back but I would highly recommend going somewhere else!!! read more

Dad and I visited this location after traveling around the backroad looking for garage sales. Instantly slow seating w zero people in line. The kicker is four or five employees standing behind the counter area debating about tables . I don't want to walk or be In a restaurant debating about table coverage. Our server was sporadic and was very active and then very lazy. This could be why despite it being 1245 on a sat for lunch the location is slow. Our food was the norm for bob Evans however it was Luke warm which leads me to think they were debating about who was going to bring our food to us as we witnessed it sitting to be brought out. read more

Got the job done for a good, quick breakfast. Came here for breakfast this morning. Got the farmers special (eggs, pancakes, grits & sausage). All was well as expected. Pancakes were not dry or overcooked, the grits were well cooked and the sausage was perfectly cooked as I would expect from a Bob Evans. My only complaint, food wise, was the eggs. It seemed like a small amount for two eggs and they were almost a bit overcooked. The waitress was ok. She wasn't the best person I ever had but she wasn't terrible either. We went to Bob Evans for Thanksgiving and was very satisfying. They were super busy but kept up. We didn't get our cranberry sauce or unlimited bread but our waitress was literally running. Food was on the warm side (not hot) but the flavor was outstanding. Would recommend any time. read more

Bob Evans, IMO, is like an East/Midwest version of a Coco's. Their claim to fame is that everything is farm-fresh. We both ordered the salad and soup lunch. My cheese potato soup was just ok; potatoes needed to be cooked a little bit longer to incorporate into the soup better. The balsamic dressing on my salad was very nice. the salad itself was nothing special - romaine, sad-looking (and way too thick) slices of red onion, grape tomatoes, and cucumber slices. My husband tried the chili (just okay) and the bean soup (which he loved). The banana bread was good, but did not have that home-made feel (my mom bakes amazing banana bread and it no where compared to hers). Everyone raves about their biscuits; to tell you the truth, the flavor on them was mediocre and the texture was just all-wrong for a biscuit: way too chewy, sort of like a cross between a biscuit and Wonder Bread. UNFORTUNATELY, we had the occassion to eat at another Bob Evans the next day (much to my obvious dismay); I ordered a chicken sandwich without the chicken (I don't eat meat); it was supposed to come with cheese, spinach, and portabella mushrooms on ciabatta. Well...they brought it out with a few leaves of spinach and some par-melted cheese; no portabellas; the ciabatta was hysterical - something that looks like ciabatta, but with the taste of Wonder bread. They did, however, honor my request for a side of fresh banana slices and grapes. I guess if you like bland, stodgy food, then this place is probably considered to be excellent; however, coming from California, I found this place to be your run-of-the-mill family style restaurant. You could always rely on a certain quality but the the last few times we visited it's just not the same! 1st of all the place was sloppy, metal baskets stacked up on counter, service was good but food fell short! I was disappointed in my last few visits to this Bob Evans. We went for a late breakfast. We were seated right away and given coffee by the hostess. After that, the waitress never came and we had to flag down a lady bussing tables to ask for our waitress. She came and took our order and we didn't see her again until the food was ready. We never got a drink refill while we waited. I ordered the Meat Omelette. It was a nice size but very plain. It didn't seem to have any seasoning. I would not order it again. I think after the experience of my last few visits I will not go back to this location. read more

Cinnamon and icing on pancakes need I say more! One thing I can say is throughout all my travels any time there was a Bob Evans the food has always been consistent. There have been a few occasions where some weight times may have been longer but what do you really expect. Some people write reviews slamming Bob Evans but the reality is it's a chain semi fast food restaurant not a place that offers valet parking and baked Alaska. Get real people! I personally believe there is no breakfast like a Bob Evans breakfast. My tradition is breakfast with my step dad any Sunday that I am in town and I truly look forward to it. They make any classic breakfast food you could think of from oatmeal, any kind of eggs, pancakes, toast, potatoes, etc. I've pretty much had it all in time and like it all. Their pancakes are my favorite pancakes but occasionally have to opt out of pancakes so that I can have potatoes and a biscuit. They do get a Sunday church rush but we generally have no wait at 9:00 to 9:30. They are quick to seat you and quick to take your order and bring out your food. The two things that I don't love is that it is almost fast food but at a sit down restaurant. I often feel rushed. To that point, when the check is delivered with the meal is a turn off. If I wanted to order anything else this would pretty much keep me from ordering it. read more

I've eaten at Bob Evans before, and walked away with it's just Ok. This experience wowed my husband and I both. The service was friendly, and helpful. We got our food to go, and split a meal. We chose the 3 course turkey meal. I'm right now in a carb- coma but it was worth every bite. Turkey was tender, dressing was savory, potatoes creamy, and corn crunchy...Yum!! You also get a fresh salad, pie, and bread of your choice ( we chose pumpkin bread to save for breakfast). Now I can't stand cranberry sauce, and avoid it. I decided to try their cranberry sauce, and I have to say I could of eaten a bowl of it ... yum yum!! Bob Evans you have won me over. Again we did split the meal and I'm very satisfied. Austintown Bob Evans. On April 7th I ordered on the website 2 of the Easter Celebration meals to be delivered on Sunday. I then found out on the 9th that I needed 2 more. This time I called the Austintown Bob Evans to double my order. The girl had her manager speak to me. He was very nice and told me he would double my online order. He didn't! Door dash brought us our meals and there were only 2. I tried all day to call the restaurant but no one answered all day long. I am beyond upset. Needless to say my wife and I didn't eat. I will never give them further business and we were good customers. Never again. read more

Terrible experience. I go in and ask to be seated by a table with a wall charger because my phone was dead and I needed to check some phone emails. The hostess had a very non caring attitude , and since I saw this I told her I'd find my own table. I sit and let her know where I am sitting. I smiled and said thank you when she handed me the menu but got no response at all. I waited for almost 15 minutes and no one came. I went up to the cashier register and told the employee that I haven't been helped and I didn't want to eat there anymore, and that I was deciding whether or not to order to go. It took me 45 minutes to get a simple meal order chicken fire-roasted salad didn't even come with the items that it showed in the picture also I asked for a pot roast sandwich when the salad finally came I was irritated went and asked to speak to the manager and show them it was more arrogant and asked me what did I want him to do about it I told him I wanted him to make this at the Bob Evans way went to pay my bill in the register rang up $8 when I swipe my card became 15 was told it's because it didn't have the Pot Roast Sandwich originally on the first ticket thought maybe they took it off for screwing up my meal watch the person before me get a receipt with the survey I swear my survey was it look like it been ripped off so I asked for the corporate phone number and the manager came out again and asked what he could do to help me a lot so just give me the corporate phone number very poor service with that being said the older couple in front of me was telling me how they got bad service there before 2 read more

After 6-7 visits I can say this place consistently has problems with order accuracy, professional wait staff (mainly competency issues), and wait times. I have even seen employees ignore requests after making eye contact. I observed no team approach or desire to truly meet customer needs. The service I experienced here has been terrible every time for me and my family. It's not fully my choice to visit this restaurant (work related) otherwise I would not come back. The span of my 6-7 visits was over the last five months. Each visit has been on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday and always after 4PM. I don't want to revisit this restaurant. read more

Nothing is good here. Waited 10 minutes for hostess to even come to the door to seat us, then she started ringing people out. She finally asked for help and the large manager took his good ole time getting to the front and wiping a table. The restaurant wasn't even half full. The seating hostess came back to take drinks cause the waitress must not be able to handle 4 tables at a time. Took waitress another 5-10 minutes to take the order. Husband sat without a drink more than half the time; waitress was friends with table behind us and spent most her time looking at pictures with them or drinking at the counter. When waitress brought the check she didn't even ask or bother to help clear the table. Manager was whining to another waitress about 'if you don't want to pay someone to work at your bar, then bartend it yourself.' Management is obviously too concerned with gossip at this other bar and allows his waitresses to do bare minimum. Enjoy the $2 tip and the table I didn't pre-bus (which I always do including the stuff on the floor.) We won't be back. read more
