Twice before, I have been a customer of the Bobb-Boyd, Lincoln of Columbus, body shop. So on this most recent visit, I thought I was getting superior service. As it turned out, I couldn't have been more WRONG!!! Late one Wednesday evening, I backed into a short stone wall. So on Thursday morning I took it to Bobb-Boyd's body shop. On both previous visits older, experienced men wrote up the required paperwork and set my level of expectations at a point they knew the team behind them could surpass. Both previous visits were professional and exceptional. Both surpassed my expectations. Lincoln hit home runs with the bases loaded! My recent experience was totally, a polar opposite. The moment I walked into the office of the body shop and saw a very young (read that, INEXPERIENCED) man at his desk, my heart sank. But our conversation went well. I told him I had an important appointment the following Wednesday evening in West Jefferson, OH, and if my car could be done by noon on that Wednesday, I'd be thrilled. On the body shop calendar, he wrote 12 noon on my requested Wednesday and I then waited for my rental car to show up. The week passes. I was never contacted by the body shop even once! So on that Wednesday I call them around 9 am. My opening statement was that I'd become available earlier than what I'd projected for that Wednesday and I could be there at 9:30 am, if my car was in fact ready. At that moment, everything went straight to Hades. "Mr. Wheatley, we haven't even started on your car yet! We're waiting on your insurance company. And we've gotta hope your parts don't come in broken--we've had a lot of that lately!" I exploded. "You never thought of contacting me so I could get my insurance company 'in gear?' I've been a customer of theirs for 30 years and they're never put me off! My car's not even STARTED??!!??" When the lying started it was clear my conversation was going nowhere. Frankly, the last straw was when "Mr. Inexperienced," laughed out loud at my frustration. I told Bill, I think his name is, that I was hanging up. Through Buick, Cadillac, Audi, Volvo and Benz dealerships, I've never been treated so poorly, so rudely, or so unprofessionally. Lincoln lost. Bobb-Boyd lost; sales and service and body shop lost. Too bad for Lincoln and for me that Bobb-Boyd is their only dealer in town. One bad apple CAN spoil the whole bunch. The receptionist, one day, got the body shop manager on the line. He was nice. My car got done. Customer Service training is long overdue in his department. Because companies so seldom spend time and effort on new employee training, we, the customers, become the victims of poorly trained individuals and companies shoot themselves in the foot and wonder WHY they are bleeding. I had the best experience at Bob-Boyd Lincoln recently. Stanton Kesler was amazing!! This is the best customer service ever! I have a 2013 Lincoln MKZ that I bought from Bob-Boyd Lincoln. We were having an issue with the car not recognizing one of the key fobs. We were told to replace the battery but the issue continued. I also felt the car was shifting hard. We took the car in and Stanton listened to both my issues and said he would call me after they looked at the car. The key fob issue was quickly resolved as one of the batteries was showing low even though it was new. The transmission person drove the car and said we needed major work on the transmission. The transmission people are also to be commended - I believe this problem was in the early stages and to have caught it so soon is such a relief. The car was still under warranty so the work was performed with no cost to me. Stanton called me every day to update me and let me know exactly where they were on the car and what they were doing. When we picked the car up, he explained that the transmission would take a little while to learn my driving habits again. I was so pleased that he listened to my concerns and addressed them and went the extra mile to make sure I knew he cared about getting our car fixed. He did a wonderful job of representing your company. I love my Lincoln but I think this visit has convinced me to become a life time customer at Bob-Boyd Lincoln. read more

I recently had an exceptional experience working with Leo, the salesman, and Chris, the Finance Director, at Bob-Boyd Lincoln in Columbus, OH. Leo was fantastic from start to finish. He kept things low-pressure, to the point, and was always responsive throughout the entire sales process. His professionalism and customer-focused approach made the entire experience seamless. I do recommend you to my family, friends and co-workers. The work was done fast and things that are not needed are not added into you may need or you do need just to raise the price. It is refreshing to only have to pay for what is needed (honest work- WOW!!). The only thing is I see there are two recalls on my MKX and I would like to know if they were taken care of for my MKX and if not to get them done. I feel you should check when you have a car/suv brought in to see if there are any recalls and let the owner know of the recalls. Then correct them while the customer is in the shop. Unless it is something that may take longer and ask to schedule a time to have that taken care of. I do have two recalls on my SUV and I need for them to be addressed, please. I continue to be impressed with not only the Service team at Bob Boyd Lincoln, but also with the Sales and Finance teams. This dealership is absolutely top notch, and I would highly recommend them if you are looking for a new car. Amber (my sales associate) was patient and helpful without being pushy. She brought all of the appropriate resources together to make my buying experience smooth and pleasant. The service department is great about following up, honoring commitments and being engaged and empathetic when there are problems to be solved. This is really my first review of a car dealership. The automobile service is superior! But what's more, the experience doesn't have any of the negative memories of previous dealership service experiences--especially Ricart. Bob-Boyd's Rob Beacom is usually able to arrange for a great Lincoln loaner car if I have an extended repair situation. When it's just a quick service job, I enjoy the fresh Keurig Coffee, homemade cookies, fresh bottled water in the kitchen, then relax in the service lounge enjoying the big-screen HD TV, comfortable chairs, and nostalgic Lincoln automobile photos on the wall. They also have great Wi-Fi and three desks if I need to get some work done on my laptop. If that weren't special enough, when they're done with my car it's usually been washed! read more

I recently purchased a 1999 Mercury Marquis from an elderly lady. It had not been driven much and though it only had 58,000 original miles, I wanted a bumper to bumper inspection done. Expecting to get a call that this and that had rotted and dried up and I needed to replace this and that, I got a call that said you should change out the differential fluid, flush the radiator and and put in new fluids, change the oil and all filters and replace the brake fluid, since it was all 17 years old and never replaced. That with an oil change, tire rotation and complete checkup, $450.00 I was amazed. The service was top notch and Sam Messina made me feel as important as if I were driving a new MKZ. read more

Researched Audi, Cadillac & Lincoln for my new CPO sport sedan. Lincoln MKZ was best value for the money, handsomely equipped over the competition and for less money. We drove 200 miles to review 2 in particular with John Dillion, who turned out to be knowledgeable and friendly, taking his time while we drove 3 cars total. Came to agreement and settled the deal that day. John & the staff stayed way past closing on a Saturday night to wrap it all up. (8pm) Follow up has been good from John as well. Best service department in Columbus. Very accommodating and fair pricing. I bought a CPO MKZ from Bob Boyd and I'd take my non Lincoln vehicles here too. I don't get the usual "you need a new PCV valve" when I get the oil changed, and I've never had to take the car back to have them finish doing the job. They always wash the car when they're done and they ask before they do it too. read more
