I also did the DMV brush-up with him and passed my behind-the-wheel test with only 1 error! Highly recommend him for anyone wanting to pass! I give him 5/5 stars and the company 4/5 stars. The company owner, Wally, is great however I had to reschedule my DMV behind-the-wheel test due to the company booking me for the wrong day despite double checking with them if it was confirmed. Since my rescheduled appointment was two weeks after my original test, I had asked them for a discounted 2-hr brush up lesson. They offered me a lesson at the price of $100 instead of the usual $160.

AP Driving School was very responsive at getting back to me and answering my questions. Their prices were overall very reasonable. I truly appreciate the time and effort he put into helping my son build confidence and improve his driving skills. Unfortunately, my experience with Michelle was the complete opposite. Her customer service was unprofessional, and her attitude toward parents was disappointing. She stated that parents are responsible for teaching their children how to drive. While I understand that parents should help their teens practice, that's exactly why we pay a driving school--to provide professional instruction, teach safe driving techniques, and reinforce good habits. If parents were expected to do all the teaching, there would be little reason to pay for professional driving lessons. Because of Jose's outstanding instruction, I would have rated this experience much higher. However, Michelle's poor customer service significantly affected my overall impression of the company.

Both strongly recommended contacting Stephan Niemen, the owner of DriveQuest. My experience confirmed their high opinion of him. I can't imagine that anyone in our area could be more knowledgeable about drive tests. Stephan trained as an engineer with a specialization in highways, he knows the different DMVs well, and he regularly testifies in court because of his expertise gained over many years. Equally important, he is personable, prompt, and flexible in scheduling lessons. California DMV requirements for behind-the-wheel testing have recently changed for people over 70. If you are in that age group and must take the Vision Drive Test, I recommend contacting Stephan. I can tell you that when I passed the VDT a month ago, I was very glad that I had chosen not only the best-qualified instructor but also one with consistently warm and appreciative online reviews.
