I dinged my prop this weekend and they got me in for their prop exchange today (which i was…read morethankful for). They switched out my prop and thats when the real fun began! My cell phone dropped in a small slot in between the seats right when I got out past the fuel dock and went below deck (one in a million times this could have happened....). I heard a clunk and for the life of me could not find the phone. I was like, you have to be kidding me right? I came back after searching madly for my phone and showed up again... Here I am! Guess what? I dropped my cell between the seats and cannot locate it! William Sims literally climbed in to the smallest space where I store my fenders and undid a few screws. The phone was below deck in the most impossible place a phone could have landed. A half hour later, screw drivers, other tools, and lots of sweat later the phone was located. He never gave up! Another nice guy came in at the end as his arms were longer and was the one who actually retrieved the phone. I literally was ready to go to Apple and make a claim and buy a new phone. I can't say how relieved I was. That was what I call above and beyond service. Hats off to William and the other chap with the long arms. And Kenji for taking my panicked call a few days before when I realized my prop was dinged and then Greer who got me in so i could use my boat. Bravo!

I can't say enough great things about Parker at Seattle Boat! Not only did he answer every one of my (many!) questions along the way, but he also personally arranged delivery from Seattle to Lake Chelan, directly to my boat slip, making the entire experience seamless and stress-free. Parker truly went above and beyond, and I'm so grateful for his professionalism, dedication, and genuine care throughout the process. If you're looking for someone who really puts the customer first, Parker is your guy!

Finding a good mobile mechanic that will work on stern drives is difficult in this area. Most of…read morethe greats are retired as this technology is getting long in the tooth. I was very pleased to find Lakeside Boat would visit my marina and work on my motor. The scheduling was hard to get done though - I was ready to find another mechanic before we started. Once the work was on the schedule, I felt good - going to get some maintenance (tune up/oil change) and have my manifolds replaced as they were getting on 5 years (routine to change them on that interval). Josh sent me a bill for parts estimated - and I know that that will vary to some degree once the work starts. Paid it right away because I wanted to get the boat in tip top again. During the day of the service, I got a call - a part was not anticipated, and it would add $900 to the bill. Ok. At that point, I'm kind of committed so I said OK. I didn't realize I was going to pay shop labor rate for Josh to drive to Kent to pick up those parts and then drive them to Edmonds. That added $1000 to the bill for delivery and then Josh waiting around. At the end of the day, I got the call that the boat was done - and because it would not start (it had been running for me reliably until then) another part was needed. Again, at that point I'm committed. Got the final bill via the online portal - and paid it right away even though I was at that point in total sticker shock. The total price came in over $5,000. I had questions. I finally got Josh on the phone - he's disappointed, I'm disappointed - because I've had mobile work done on my boat for years and years - and never had this feeling that I got fleeced. After the phone call... I still feel like I got fleeced. I inspected the work - it looks solid. They have a good mechanic. I question the business ethic however. Still waiting for an itemized bill.

I would be very careful trusting online reviews about this company. It seems like the positive…read morereviews on yelp and google come from recently opened accounts of family friends who obviously have little to no reviews. The reviews are also very vague with little to no details, which is consistent with fabricated reviews. We came in and asked for a quote on building some wood cabinets on our 28' constellation. Right off the bat, they were annoyed with us for dropping in unexpectedly without calling. When we parked in their gravel lot, a middle aged brownish blonde haired man came out and pointed at us saying "this isn't hospital parking you need to leave right now." We were stunned. I answered "we're not visiting the hospital...." I was annoyed with his attitude and gave him an attitude right back. It was ridiculous the way he greeted us with such hostility without even knowing why we were there. So what if we didn't call ahead? We were in the area and wanted to drop by because we wanted to know how much it would cost to replace the cabinets in our boat. Once he realized we were there to talk business he explained that their company has been there for nearly a hundred years and that a lot of people from UWMC and surrounding businesses park in their lot. "It's an ongoing battle we're sick and tired of" he says to us. Well guess what? That's not a very bright idea to translate your personal issues onto customers now is it?? What kind of business model is that? At that point we already knew there wasn't a chance in hell we would go with these guys. I'm sure the employee knew as well, which is why his tone continued to grow increasingly impatient when we asked for a quote. Granted, we only wanted a quote at that point to compare prices. He saw this as a waste of his time. "That's a small project and we're busy this time of year. Can't help ya." That was his answer, without seeing or visualizing what we were even asking for. Then he turned his back on us and went back inside. These guys make their money from wealthy loyal customers who understand that this is a rare niche to fill when it comes to wood boats. However, their ego and method of dealing with potential customers is inexcusable. What a disgrace.
