We have been coming to the Bethany beach boardwalk for a long time. And boardwalk fries are just one of those stops you have to make for a snack every once in awhile during a beach day. They're are hot crispy and perfectly salted. We usually get one bucket for about $12 that will feed 4-5 people pretty easily. We stick to the fries but they also serve other food that looks good just haven't tried it. Make sure if you get a fountain soda - know it's not refillable. Service was pretty quick, did not have to wait for long. They're definitely pretty mediocre fries for a spot that specializes in French fries. I wouldn't personally order again. They were definitely fresh and pipping hot, but just not cooked to my liking--not crispy enough, too potato-y. read more

As a General Manager of high end restaurants I had to post something I encountered yesterday morning. I was with the wife and 2 kids. 4 and 2. I told them we could get some fries because they have never had boardwalk fries. We were at the beach very early because of the kids. When I approached the window I saw Jack. It was 9:30 and I asked him if they were open. His response was outstanding. He said "Absolutely sir" Why is this a big deal? Boardwalk Fries is just an generic boardwalk establishment to get a quick bite to eat. I ordered the chicken tenders with fries and it was fine. The chicken tenders were generic tenders, but they were juicy and crispy. The fries were pretty good. They were flavorful and crunchy, but they loaded them with salt. I like salt, but they definitely put too much on the fries. Also, the price came to about $11 which I thought was a little too high. I have to agree with all the other reviews on this place - go here if you don't want to walk more than a couple steps from the beach, but if you're willing to go more than a block, go elsewhere. A medium-sized boat of fries costs nearly $8 here, and they weren't even good. The fries were average and the vinegar was very mediocre. If you're going to charge this much for fries, they better be crispy, fresh, and piping hot! I suggest going to DB Fries just a couple minutes farther for both better quality food and a greater variety of offerings. It's not Thrashers, but nicely salted fries and very conveniently located on the beach. I would just stick with fries, nothing else I've seen or tasted from here is great. Corn dog was not fried. It tasted warm and soggy...probably microwaved. The nacho chips were stale and the cheese was cold and lumpy. The lemonade was disgusting. First off, of course it's expensive, it's the beach! We eat here every summer. The fries are delicious. The spray bottle vinager makes it easy for my kids to fix their fries the way they like them. All 3 of my kids love the chicken fingers, soft pretzels, and chicken fingers. I love the fried pickels and mozzerella sticks. They even habe GLUTEN FREE OPTIONS!! Hi! My son and I were interested to see what the Yelp review must be on this place speculating that it must be one star and we were right! Seemed appropriate to reinforce it. We just got some fries from this overpriced establishment - 11 bucks for a bucket! In all fairness anything on the board walk is overpriced. Anyway we have sixteen people in our group so we paid 33 dollars for 3 buckets (33 dollars for about 4 dollars worth of fries...) but they only gave us 2... and we had to ARGUE with them to get the third... and then we could see and hear the employee continue to argue angrily about it with the rest of the staff... really? Last year we were standing there (minding our business cause we're chill) and another customer complained that the staff was rude and the owner said "I don't need your money I got plenty" so anyway class act all around at that place. I bet the owner is a millionaire and who checks Yelp before they buy fries at a fry stand... but delighted to reinforce a solid one star rating regardless. :) read more

i have been coming to this beach ever since i was a baby. i learned to walk on bethany beach and i will cherish that boardwalk for the rest of my life. the ocean is beautiful, but i must say the real highlight of this beach is boardwalk fries. i wouldn't say i'm a fry connoisseur, but i wouldn't reject the title if it happened to be bestowed upon me. this fine establishment has the best fries i've ever tasted. in fact, i would almost caution you when eating here because the fries make you want to continue eating them until a sudden roar rushes over you and tells you you will throw up if you keep eating. i say almost because the crisp, salty, potato pods of heaven are most definitely worth the fear of barfing all over the beach and watching seagulls flock to your regurgitated embodiment of money well spent. the crispness- perfectly crisp. the cut- not too thick, not too thin (they know what's up). the flavor- potato to the max. and finally, the area where other restaurants seem to fail, saltiness. the salt is pure excellence. not too much, not too little. there is nothing worse than swimming all day in the blazing sun only to bite into a fry to realize that there is no flavor and you might as well dip that sad excuse for a fry in the ocean. boardwalk fries have it. best. fries. ever. they have fries worth fighting the seagulls for, maybe even humans. actually no don't fight humans just eat the fries. read more
