Classes are taught by the excellent Mark Gucciardi, a former teacher at the Florence Art Academy, teaching in the Florence tradition. He has a fabulous eye and never runs out of suggestions and techniques, yet he remains kind and encouraging. At first I wondered if this training would be a good idea, as I've always enjoyed making art that does not look classical. But what I've found is that my eye is getting better and that what I am learning here is strengthening my more abstract work. I also love that the artists taking the class are focused and dedicated, another source of inspiration. Most of them work full time, so the fact that they are making time for this activity shows a degree of commitment that is energizing to be around. Pascale Ropert runs the school with passion and intelligence.

I even wanted to show support for the gallery by purchasing the supplies from the instructor and she refused to sell me supplies and was just awful. I don't think I've ever given my money to a human being that treated me worse. If I could stand at the door now in 2020 I would to tell people what happened. 2 years later this still leaves a nasty taste in my mouth.

The session felt a little more intimate and one-on-one since it was only my sister and I. Although we took longer than the time allowed, we were able to finish the charcuterie board with no rush. Lee said not to worry about the resin, since we ran out of time. Lee finished the resin for us and the boards were ready to be picked up after 2 days. Plenty of parking since the establishment is within a shopping center. The only detail is the shop is upstairs of the shopping center.

My sister and I were the only ones for the Charcuterie board so it felt like a private party just for us as we were hosted in a smaller room away from a kids birthday party they were having. Overall, such a great time. Board came out great and the vibes were amazing. I love how they have a variety of different options other than painting canvases. They offer Charcuterie boards, wine glasses, knit a blanket, coasters, ornaments etc. Definetly returning to create some more amazing pieces. They are opening another location in Matthews. This is off East Blvd in a shopping center. They have plenty of parking.

A photography gallery in Uptown, right next to the 7th Street LYNX Station. When I arrived, the…read moreplace was quite desolate. The security guard had me wait in the lobby while he went in to the gallery to turn the lights on. I got the impression that there wasn't a whole lot going on here. It's a good thing that it's free, because 30 minutes of looking at pictures wouldn't have been worth much. And even at 30 minutes, I was still moving pretty slow. When I visited, the exhibit was "Streetwise", a collection of pictures of America's troubled 60's. Capturing images of not just our troubled times, including Boston's "Combat Zone" and close-ups of the Black Panthers, there were also shots of just regular people and places. All in black and white, which gave it a feel of being very like a documentary. Pictures of the pictures are not permitted, but I took that as meaning not taking a picture of the individual pictures. Instead, my wide shot of the gallery doesn't give away the detail but helps you see what you're going to see there. I might come back for the next exhibit, but I think this is a "See it once" kind of thing.

Was a neat activity to do! The problem I have is with the customer service. I went to pick it up…read moreand item was being fired again because of an issue with it. This is after I received an email it was ready. I drove the 45 minutes to pick it up, so wasted trip. I asked if they could ship it for free after not having item ready and being defective. They said No and it would cost me 18.00 , I had already paid over 100 to create item. I will say when I had to go back they gave the one we did and a new one they created. But after the lack of consumer service after an issue I would not go back.
