I purchased a very expensive painting from them and l still haven't received it due to their inexperience! Firstly, their very young employee Emma took it upon herself to send the painting via UPS Saturday delivery! She never once asked me if this was okay and the shipping fees were absolutely astronomical! I use a business address for shipping and Saturday delivery isn't even possible! ALWAYS CHECK WITH THE CUSTOMER FIRST BEFORE MAKING SUCH BIG DECISIONS! I requested a refund for the shipping charges, but Emma refused! Young Emma kept promising me that she had followed up with UPS to reschedule delivery, but sadly, l had to keep following up with her as she never followed up with me directly! I kept tracking the package and there were even more hiccups! The package was never placed on the delivery truck for the supposed rescheduled delivery of yesterday. Today l wait and wait, At 4:37 p.m. l tracked the package again only to find that the wrong address is on the shipping label! Where is my painting? I will never know and will file a dispute with my cc company. Just a warning to please avoid SOCO at all costs for anything of value!

I thought the art was really interesting and some of the pieces I would actually put in my home. Not all of them, but there were some nice ones. It's a lovely space and they have good art. With many local artists represented, the marketplace a place where over 40 different vendors come together to make for a fantastic leisurely shopping day. If you live in either the SouthPark area or East Charlotte, it is super convenient for that last minute gift for anyone-whether it be the reclaimed wood picture frame or the AMAZING Ella.B Pure candles all named after different areas of Charlotte. and don't forget a precious handmade felt card by Bobbin! If you looking to change up your dining room, Cotswold Marketplace is the spot for you as well. If the fabulous mix of mid-century modern, Asian, art deco, and more overwhelm you, they have experienced interior decorators who have vendor spaces as well. The refurbished and repurposed antiques are not what most of us would find in grandma's attic; These fabulous finds are a quite a bit more classy than your Saturday yard sale finds. If I am looking for a place to splurge, this is where I go for that one statement piece that is going to transform a room. On the flip side, this place is as southern as you get. I mean where else can you get a pair of running shorts with your initials monogrammed on them? Or maybe you want Fido to have a chevon printed collar. As you can see, the vendors greatly vary which makes for a surprise around every turn! Happy hunting!

The marketplace is filled with tacky trinkets, bad artwork and eclectic throw pillows-all ridiculously overpriced! Most of the items sit on the floor for months if not years. Miserable staff, low quality and overpriced merchandise: Don't waste your time or money here!

But my college age son got a student rate and my husband was free. Nice perk, they also do this on Mother's Day, in case you didn't know for next year. I didn't take too many photos of the artwork. The special exhibit is quite large and there is a lot to see. There are two floors full of different types of art and sculptures. Really has so much to see here. I love where the Mint is located, too. Across the street is a green space with a few restaurants and a beautiful church that we visited while waiting for the museum to open at 1pm. Sunday. The entrance fee is good for two consecutive days so if you are staying close by, go back and walk through again. Lots to see. There is also a restaurant attached to the building that was very busy. They had live music as well.

It had something for everybody, even had a lighting exhibit, and I'm all about the lighting. We spent a good two hours here. It's in the middle of the city, so you can go to restaurants and shops when you're done or before. It was a $18 entrance fee for me, and they offered a senior discount as well for anyone 65 and older.

More than a few years back I had some work done - some mountains on my shoulder - that I was not happy with... at all. A few years later I got it reworked over a few sessions and it looked better, but it still wasn't great. I had more or less given up, resigning myself to a tattoo that looked like nothing I wanted and that I would always have to explain as a mistake. It sucked. Fast forward to the summer of '18. I had moved to NC from UT a couple years earlier. I started contacting artists in Charlotte, Greensboro, and Asheville. I sent pictures of what I had and described what I was looking for. Most places never returned my message or call and if they did they more or less said, "I can make it look better, but it will never look like you want". Then I messaged Mike. A day or two later I got a very enthusiastic message saying he would love to work on it and he was confident he could make it look a lot better. We exchanged messages and eventually discussed it over the phone. I came down to Charlotte (still cautions in my optimism). Again, he was supremely confident that he could make it happen. I set up an appointment and went in. My appointment took most of the day, but time flew by. I was more nervous than anything (this was my last chance), which made me more squirmy than normal, but Mike was super patient and kept telling me it was going to be fine. We chatted all day about everything under the sun, told some jokes, watched some TV, enjoyed some Korean food during breaks... all while he worked through a back injury to fix my tattoo. As it turns out, he was 100% right. Not only did he fix the piece, he exceeded my expectations. It was truly incredible. I could not have been happier with the outcome, with what he could do. There is often an intense sense of appreciation when someone does good work on your body bc it ain't going anywhere, but when someone fixes something that has been there for years that you weren't proud of... man, I can't thank Mike enough. Mike even followed up and asked how things were healing. He genuinely cared about the work. He wanted me to be happy. If I could give this place 100 stars I would. Go here to get your tattoos.
