Decided to check out their new Santee location. Staff were all friendly and helpful, coming around several times to see if we needed anything or if they could take something away to help clear our table. Great prices for the generous sandwich sizes compared to many of their competitors. Even better prices for beer at only $3/glass for all microbrews during the month of July! I've always loved the Del Mar location, but this location is hit or miss. Ordered an Italian sub tonight and it was completely missing meat by the time I got halfway through the sandwich. My husband's was the same way. Seems pretty dishonest, they know what they're doing packing the front lol. I actually loved their Sweet & Sour dressing. I was weary how it will taste on a sub... I learned I leave that to the professionals. It was perfect! Everything was fresh, unlike some chain sub places where the veggies may be wilted or been out too long. Everything was crisp and fresh! Loved the vibe of the place. Seemed like a nice joint for the locals to grab a beer and enjoy a nice sandwich with good conversation. It seemed very laid back and just a nice place to relax and enjoy a cold one. Workers were courteous and took our order concisely. We had special request to have the sweet & sour on the side as I was questioning the combination. Heard it was amazing from pretty much everyone in Santee and it always looks busy while driving by. Figured it was time to give it a shot. Will not be going back, lol. Very small venue so be prepared to not have a seat or have to sit outside on 100 degree day. We finally got a seat, but even next to the window it was hot with the shades drawn. Ordered two sandwiches and two beers and the total was a shade over $40...I had the Italian and the wife had the French dip or whatever hip name they try to give it...inquired about fries as they would go good with sandwich but limited to chips or potato salad. So a limited menu, limited seating availability and steep prices for a beer and a sandwich. Quality of food was good and service was good, but overall, there are just too many other better options I'd be willing to go with for the price and experience. read more

Hello Yelpers Unfortunately, I am really disappointed in this location. Board and Brew have always been my favorite sandwich place. This location and the Pacific beach location have been going down hill. The employees are very rude and not help at all. We ordered two separate orders on New Years Eve through the online pick up. The order that we placed online came with a confirmation and a time to pick up. We live about 15 minutes away from this location. We went to go pick up our order that we placed online. This location was closed and no one was answering the phone. We did not receive a phone call, notification, or email regarding them closing early. We called the next day to speak with a manager for the inconvenience. The manager said the only thing they could do for us would be to refund the money. It's unfortunate that we had to drive all the way over there and did not even receive a phone call or notification. They should be taking better care of their customers. read more

This place always has a great selection of beer, they normally have a rotation of quality craft beers also there is a cider and kombucha on tap normally. They have a happy hour which includes ALL drinks for 4 dollars, you can't beat that. The food is always freshly made to order and the portions are always great. The staff here have always been friendly and outgoing they ask how your day was etc. They have a small bar with a few locals that are normally there for happy hour and they always have been very welcoming and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place either for happy hour or a place to grab a great sandwhich and not to mention it's cheaper than subway. read more

The only reason this review is getting 2 stars is because the food was great. I've been frequently coming to this bored and brew since it's opened a couple years ago. But this review is low because of the customer service. I've been very disappointed the last few times I've come in. I basically am getting ignored the whole time I'm there. I like to sit at the bar because it's easy to order a beer and food while sitting and watching a game. I have employees walk pass me multiple times while sitting there with an empty beer glass, I have to either get up and go to the register and order or say excuse me usually a couple times to get someone's attention. I have heard many people talk & compare B & B with other franchise sub & sandwich places, but what many people don't realize is how fresh & local everything is that B & B uses. The vegetables are freshly cut & prepared in the morning, as are the meats, the bread is fresh & you can taste that quality in every sandwich or wrap that you get. The casual & fun atmosphere makes it a great casual place to dine, & the staff is very friendly, accomodating & will often come to check to see if you need anything else while you're dining there. The sandwiches are by far one of my favorites & the secret sauce makes it a must to accompany your sandwich. you can easily split a sandwich with someone if you're not super hungry or wrap it up & eat it later ! You can also swap out your bread choices or pay extra for a Spinach Wrap or GF Wrap, add or substitute veggies to your preferences. The Spinach really allowed me to finish it versus being filled up faster with the baguette. My Favorite: Turkey Club + Cucumbers + Cream Cheese & substitute the bread with a Spinach Wrap. So good ! 1st time trying Board & Brew... Went inside, ordered some sammys to take home to my fam. Staff was friendly when taking order and when handing my order to me. When I got home, I noticed the bottom of the bag was wet plus my car seat was moist. When I looked inside, one container of their sauce was empty. Apparently it emptied from the top of the bag all over my sandwiches down to the bottom of the bag. Now before anyone judges... I live very close to this Board & Brew location and I'm not a reckless driver. The bag was never tossed around or turned upside down. It stayed in the upright postion from the time it was handed to me from the time I reached home. I can't even speak to the quality and taste of the sandwiches because this sauce leaked inside the sandwiches. I was never even asked for these sauce cups to be included.
