You've done it, BMC Market. Another restaurant added to my exclusive 5-star category thanks to a combination of excellent food at incredible value. I'm someone who's a bit vary of Mexican food, mainly cause my spice tolerance is quite low. However my friend who's knowledgable of Mexican cuisine took me to this place, and promised me the tacos here would fit to my tastes. Sure enough it did. Did I mention the value for the tacos? You can order three tacos for as low as $5, and they fill you up very well. I had the lengua, carnitas, and barbacoa tacos, which were the beef tongue (weekend only), pulled pork, and braised beef tacos. These tacos were $6 combined, and they were extremely tasty. I was so full at the end that I was surprised my dinner was under $10. Decor is quite nice inside, although the place is quite small. Take out is available though, however I'm not too fond of having tacos for takeout since they can get soggy. Excellent place, will definitely return!

Imho, BMC has the BEST tacos and quesadillas in the city. It's authentic and it's very affordable too. The place has a cozy atmosphere. I'd recommend trying it all. My personal fave is the chicken quesadilla.

You can taste the heart they put into their food, but found that the portion sizes were way too small for my liking. It's defiantly worth trying if you're in the area. Thing is you can get bigger at other places. read more

This was the worst Mexican food I have ever eaten. I have had Mexican in Mexico ,Texas , California and Colorado and if you served them this ,they would hurt you badly and you would deserve it. My friends and I ordered the beef tacos ,cheese quesadillas and beef quesadillas. Sides were carrot salad, Mexican rice and beans with mild and hot salsa. All 3 main dishes were virtually tasteless. The carrot salad was just shredded carrots and tasteless. Worst stuff was the salsa. It looked like they had strained the salsa as all we got was coloured water. Mild or hot it was also tasteless. The only thing remotely edible was the Mexican rice. If you want Mexican ,go to Taco Bell, you will be happier. read more

$5 for 3 tacos - what a deal! Cute family own taco shop on south Osborne. This place no longer sells grocery items as they expanded it all for dine in tables. There's about 5 or 6 tables, menu is small with different taco fillings - chicken, chorizo, beef, chicken and vegetarian. The couple of who run the place are really nice.The corn tortilla shells are fairly thick and there's a lot of filling. I had the chorizo, beef and chicken - favourite was the chicken as it had some nice flavour to it. The hot sauce was not spicy at all. Overall, nice place to grab an inexpensive and quick lunch. Don't let the exterior or interior appearance of this place deter you from enjoying an excellent meal. Travelling across Canada, we're always looking for good but inexpensive food. Trusting the good reviews on line we went searching. Taken aback by the outward appearance, lack of parking (we parked across the street) and the bare-bones interior we nonetheless intrepidly placed our order. It was clear from the beginning of the conversation that these are very nice, authentic people. 3 tacos for $5 was very appealing. We ordered the Rajas (veggie) tacos and some chips with Pico de Gallo along with a cold Dos Equis Ambar. Yes, it's served on paper and plastic but the taste!! It's OMG good! If you want some authentic tasting food, don't miss BMC Market. The name is misleading, I admit, but the food that we had was outrageously good. read more

I miss authentic Mexican food! My husband and I have been back to BMC a couple of times and so far so good. Their chips are good but I wish their salsa would have a little heat to it. I've always ordered the el pastor tacos. The restaurant is kept clean if they're not too busy. Not really that great for a huge crowd because their seating area is very limited. But you can always take it home with you. read more

They really emphasize "skipping the dishes". Paper plates. Too much plastic(cups, utensils). No sour cream for the quesadilla. Only one veggie option. Mushroom taco. read more

Their tacos are amazing! We often get take out for supper and have always been really impressed with the food. Everything has a ton of flavor and the staff are always lovely. Our favorites are the chorizo, and barbacoa. We also love how they come with cilantro, onion, lime and different salsa options! read more

BMC is a small Mexican restaurant/market located across from Safeway/Husky in South Osborne. This place has the cheapest tacos in the city: 3 tacos for $5. What a deal! I do find that the menu is quite limited. There are only a few selections to pick from. At my most recent visit, I had the Beef, Chicken, Pork tacos and a bowl of Tortilla Soup. The food was alright...The soup was mostly filled with broth, which was kind of disappointing. I don't think I will go out of my way to come here again but if it's on the way, I'll definitely come back simply the deal is too hard to pass up on! read more

If you are searching for real Mexican food Winnipergers this is the place to go. The tortillas are made as you order, tacos, quesadillas, are excellent!, and truly authentic. The owner is friendly, always makes you feel welcomed, and her pozole is to die for! This is one of my favorite places to go, I tell everyone about it. The lady who world's up front most of the time is super friendly and really nice. There are a couple different kinds of tacos/quesadillas to choose from and the tacos are only 3 for 5 dollars. Everything is made fresh in house and is delicious. The horchata and agua de jamica are both extremely tasty beverages. Highly recommended! read more

No idea why people have given this place good reviews. They probably have never had a real taco besides something from taco bell. I went there with my friend visiting from Mexico and could not eat my meal. The tortillas are raw! The "chorizo" taste moldy and was just not satisfied. Tacos are supposed to be cheap but delicious these are just bad. I have still to find a good taco place here in the city. - coming from a Mexican who lived in Mexico. read more
