Tips: - The washroom requires a code. Keep your receipt to…read moreprove that you're a paying customer before you obtain the code from a staff member. - More of a fact, but this Jollibee is the largest one out of the three locations in Winnipeg. - It has a drive-thru, as with all three Jollibee locations. I have had the goal of visiting all three Jollibee locations in Winnipeg for at least a year. The easiest one for me was visiting the Ellice Avenue location, the first one in Canada, as it's by the airport. I often land, fetch my luggage, rent a vehicle, and drive over to that location to get my fix. I'm ready for a meal by the time I make it to Winnipeg. Last summer, I managed to get to Winnipeg's third location on Nairn Avenue. I squeezed that visit in towards the end of my vacation. On Sunday, I landed in Winnipeg, fetched my luggage, grabbed a rental vehicle, and drove up to this location at Northgate Mall instead of heading to the Ellice Avenue location. I was thrilled to finally achieve my Jollibee goal. Northgate Mall has changed quite a bit since I was here several years ago. It's now an outdoor mall that's more like a plaza. I had no problem finding a parking spot. I pulled into a spot and walked in to Jollibee. There are two sets of doors. The flow is to enter the doors on the left when you face the eatery and leave through the doors with the mascot on the right. I will admit that I only went to the latter doors to take a photo of the mascot, but exited through the entrance because I'm a tourist. Anyway, I lined up to place an order. I looked at the menu to figure out what I wanted. Luckily, the folks in front of me allowed me some time. I got the nicest man at the order area and got the following items: - Two burger steaks with rice - A side order of spaghetti - Pineapple drink - Peach mango pie I got a beeper to let me know when my order was ready. I got my pineapple drink. As I was sipping my drink and trying to find a table, the beeper went off. I wasn't even halfway walking through this restaurant because it's so huge! I put my drink down on a table and headed back to the order area. I got my tray of goodies, thanked the man who gave it to me, and headed to my table to eat. I love the burger steaks. It's the gravy that you mix in with the rice and the pure yumminess of the burger steaks that make this dish so comforting. It's a mushroom gravy that is delicious with the flavourful burger steaks. The rice was fluffy and the burger steaks with the gravy made me so happy. I love spaghetti. Filipino spaghetti is tangy and sweet. There were little slices of hot dog and ground meat, along with cheese on top. I always look forward to having the right amount of it as a side. The spaghetti was al dente. It was delicious that it looked like I had licked the container clean when I was done. The pineapple drink is a must. Sure, it's sweet. It's refreshing and yummy. It was on the smaller side that I ended up filling my cup up with Diet Pepsi. The fountain drink machine is great. The peach mango pie was the perfect ending to my meal. The exterior was crispy. The peach mango filling was bright and packed with fruit. Yum! I needed to use the washroom. I headed back to the order area to ask what the code was. Washrooms are only for paying customers. The man asked me for my receipt and seemed rather apologetic to ask. He clearly saw my Jollibee cup with Diet Coke in my hand. I said to him that it was a good thing that I didn't throw out my receipt. That thought had crossed my mind. I showed him my receipt and he nodded with a smile. He was great telling me how to use the code. I don't know how often it's changed, but it was 1127* for the women's washroom that day. You basically enter in the passcode followed by the * and the door opens. You then lock it to use the single stall. The washroom was clean. I had no issues with it. This eatery has a drive-thru. It had a steady flow of vehicles. I love that all three Winnipeg Jollibee locations come with a drive-thru. The greater Toronto area seems to be anti-drive-thru, except for the one in Ajax. I feel accomplished getting a late lunch here and being able to now say that I've visited all three Jollibee locations in Winnipeg. I need to now do the same with the GTA. I'll be back when I'm in the area. (227)

I had a very disappointing experience with Jollibee Northgate about a week ago, and the way the…read moresituation was handled afterward made it even worse. I placed a mobile order and when I received it, almost my entire order had been stuffed into one single bag. The bag was clearly overloaded with heavy items, including chicken and multiple gravies that we had paid extra for. The bag was sealed and overflowing. When I was walking into my house, the bag broke because it couldn't handle the weight, and the entire order fell straight onto the ground and into the snow. The chicken, the gravies, and most of the food were completely ruined. This was not a small or cheap order either, so losing the whole thing because it was packed improperly was extremely frustrating. I called the store to explain what happened, since the issue clearly came from the way the order was assembled and packed. Instead of taking responsibility for the mistake, they only offered to replace the chicken and nothing else, even though the entire order had been lost due to their packaging. That already felt unfair considering the circumstances. On top of that, when I asked the employee for her name so I could refer to her when picking up the replacement, she refused multiple times. I had to ask about 4-5 times before she finally told me her name was Wena, who said she was the manager. When we came back about a week later to pick up the replacement, I overheard her speaking about me to other employees in Tagalog, complaining about me and referring to me as the "McDonald's lady" because I had raised the issue about how the order was packed. What she didn't realize is that just because I may look white does not mean I'm not Filipino or that I can't understand Tagalog. I am Filipino and I am completely fluent in Tagalog, so I understood exactly what she was saying. The comments were unprofessional and unnecessary. Customers should not have to hear staff or managers talking badly about them behind their backs, especially when the complaint was completely reasonable. The bag had been overloaded and sealed with heavy items placed in a way that made it almost guaranteed to break. Proper packing would have easily prevented the entire situation. I was never expecting free food or trying to take advantage of the situation. I simply expected basic accountability and professional customer service when a mistake was clearly made. As a Filipino myself, it was honestly embarrassing to see a Filipino restaurant handle customer service this way. Regardless of culture, businesses operating in Canada should be treating customers with professionalism and respect. Talking badly about customers in another language, assuming they won't understand, is not acceptable. This experience left a very negative impression, and I hope management takes this seriously and improves both their order handling and the way customers are treated at this location.

Probably one of my favorite 5 Guys locations out there. I've been to ones in different provinces and states and this one is nice. Staff were super friendly and willing to help out people ordering. Staff is pleasant here. I had the cheeseburger with lettuce, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, and BBQ sauce. No complaints at all, the patty was perfectly cooked and the toppings were fresh. There's something about that Five Guys patty that make me really love this place. I didn't end up having fries this time around as I wasn't hungry. Next time!

After fetching my luggage and rental car, I was ready for lunch at around 11 am. If anyone knows me, I tend to eat a later lunch no matter how early I am up. However, I had a long day ahead of me driving down to the Twin Cities, so I needed some nourishment. It was a no-brainer move for me to visit this Jollibee location: - It was the first one established in Canada - It has a drive-thru - I needed my Fillipino fast food fix - It's less than ten minutes away from the airport I love Jollibee. I am thrilled that the greater Toronto area (GTA) has locations. However, none of them have drive-thrus. All three Winnipeg Jollibee locations do. What is wrong with you, GTA?! I am also ecstatic that Jollibee chose Winnipeg for its first Canadian location. Winnipeg boasts the highest Filipino population per capita and has Canada's third-largest Filipino population. It truly deserved the nod. I could have dined in. I wanted to hit the drive-thru and did just that. I had the most helpful woman take my order. My order comprised these items: - Pineapple juice - Two burger steaks with steamed rice - A side of spaghetti - Peach mango tea I asked if I could do a side of spaghetti. I could. Yay! My order was over $20. I frankly don't remember the exact price, which is odd for me. I was borderline hangry. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. I got my drink and bag of food fairly quickly. I thanked the woman and headed over to an available parking spot in a vast parking lot to chow down. I love the pineapple juice. It's sweet, but not disgusting gross. It's like a cheerful burst of happiness when you sip it. My go-to meal is the two burger steaks with steamed rice. It's the mushroom gravy that makes this meal awesome. I mixed the sauce with the steamed rice and enjoyed it with the burger steaks. It's brilliant comfort food that made me so happy. I love the spaghetti. You get small slices of hot dogs in a tangy-slightly sweet sauce. The noodles were perfectly done. I loved eating it from a cup. It's nice getting drive-thru spaghetti. Fazoli's is the other chain that I know of where you can get spaghetti at a drive-thru. I normally get two peach mango pies. I decided to get one because my order was large. It hit the spot. The exterior was crispy. The peach mango filling was excellent. I was so happy. I loved this location so much that I ate here before I headed to the airport to head home to Toronto. My order was similar, except that I wasn't hangry. I omitted the pineapple juice and spaghetti. My lunch was satisfying. I probably saved a bit having comfort food at Jollibee than dining at the airport. I love this location. The food was yummy. Staff were helpful and friendly. When I'm back in town, expect my paying a visit or more here. (79)
