Had it several times. I'm picky and I would not return if I was not impressed. Will definitely keep it on my burger fix list.

After eating about 5 veggie burgers in the last month (at Boon's) I had to balance it off with a…read more"real" burger. So I splurged (calorically speaking) on a burger at Mrs. Mikes. I don't really give out 5 stars that often but this place really deserves it. I am still shocked and amazed at how good their burger is! I ordered the cheeseburger ($5) - kinda pricey compared to VJ's. But Mrs. Mike's burgers are bigger comparatively speaking. The cheeseburger is on a sesame bun, probably the size of a whopper. The patty is just slightly bigger than the bun and cooked with a slight crisp on the outside but still juicy inside - I love that! The flavour of the beef patty is perfectly seasoned and balances so well with the cheese, pickle, chili, onion and mustard. They don't put too much chili on their burgers so it's not as messy to eat but you still get the chili flavour. Of course I had to order their fries ($3). Now I'm torn on their fries because I was expecting the type of home cut fries (with the skin on) like at VJs but the ones here look and taste like McDonald's fries (although they taste a bit better than McDs). I have my moments when I love McD fries but when I am going to a local burger joint, I totally expect more "homestyle" fries. So maybe that pulls them down to 4.5??? I don't know...it's all subjective anyways and I'm neurotic enough to get a cheeseburger here and drive down to Broadway to get the fries at VJs. LOL. I was pretty full after finishing the cheeseburger and eating half the fries but I didn't feel too gross. You know that feeling when you've stuffed yourself with too much greasy food. So 5 stars for the cheeseburger and 4 stars for the fries = 4.5 stars, but I gave them the 5. The place seems pretty clean and organized in the kitchen. I was a little confused about where I was suppose to place my order as there are 2 widows (one in the front and one on the side). For the most part, it seemed like you order at the front, then wait for your order and then pick up and pay on the side window but then again some people did it differently. This place closes in the winter and closes at 7 pm so it's not a late night burger joint. There is no indoor seating as there are only picnic tables on the right side, which is about as scenic as a parking lot/alley - I took mine to go. All the prices listed on the board include taxes so it'll be a round number when you pay (CASH ONLY). They have a king burger (which I'm curious to what in includes), no fat boy but maybe the king burger is their version of one??? They also serve chili fries, milkshakes, and chicken fingers. Note: they are open seasonally (closes for the winter). Tues-Sat 11 am to 7 pm.

There were three that were open, but two were covered in dirty plates and the other was reserved for staff only. The food was meh and the garlic in the tzatziki was non existent and there was so much of it in the pita it was barely edible. George's on McPhillips is much better. I gave it two stars because the salad was good. I was generous.

It was floppy and gave no pleasure associated with masticating a burger. The only reason it's not a 1 is because it's possible that those grilled random chicken pieces are less unhealthy thana fried chicken patty would be. Completely unsatisfied and realizing I wouldn't get any reading done in such an ugly dive with its bad smells and TV blaring, I ordered fries to go and went home to eat them with a quick curry mayo I whipped up. Unfortunately, the fries were not fresh, they had been cooked earlier, were leftover and fried a second time. When you can't get the basics like fries down there's no point going there at all. I didn't even order water as all they had was styrofoam cups and those waxy fountain cups you'd expect to get at a beachside kiosk or at the Ex. It's a throwback to the 1980s, a relic that evokes no nostalgia, only the wonder of how it has survived. It's probably for desperately hungry workers at noon, since it's on Henderson, and incredibly drunk people at night who have drunk past the point of discernment, with its weekend closing time of 3 am.
