Literally the best waffles I have ever had!!! Can't even put into words how decadent they were. Gently Crisp exterior with sweet delicious fluffy inside. They were so magnificent you could annoy without any syrup and they'd still be amazing. These came with fresh berries and I ordered a side of bacon which was basic as expected. The sausage egg and cheese on brioche was outstanding. Hand crafted sausage patty that was as thick as a giant burger. It was so tasty and rich. The portion was generous and let's not forget the house made potatoes. So yummy!!!!!! This restaurant was a great find. Shady siding outside, nice Neighbrohood, outstanding service with friendly waiter. I asked if they had chocolate milk. Thursday did not but he insisted on making it from scratch. What a pain it must have been but he was determined to give me my first choice of beverage. It was delicious. Lots of people dining at tables near us were locals unlike us. The singer form the jazz club we went to last night was there with his partner. Such a friendly vibe all around. Would highly recommend

Croque Monsieur

Loved our experience here! The inside is small and the tables are all two tops as it's a cafe. The staff was so accommodating with us as a group of 6 letting us put tables together & helped us get situated. They were so friendly and our waitress and the chef remembered us each time we came in during our trip. From breakfast to lunch everyone left more than satisfied! The coffee was great. Our top favorites were the croque monsieur, Maine lobster omelette, & French toast. Don't miss the daily specials & soups too!

I stumbled into this cute locally owned cafe when staying in the area and wow was I impressed. From the politeness of the staff, the tasty coffee and food but also the owner herself was present. If you are in the area stop in for a fantastic cup of coffee and a meal. I purchased the Chèvre Frittata which does take about 20 minutes to cook but it was well worth the wait!! I will absolutely be back!

Croque Madame

I liked my Croque Madame My expectations for my first visit to Blvd Café were high. While those were not quite reached, I can say my Croque Madame was really good, the cheese abundant and flavorful, the egg on top made it an attractive breakfast. The one thin slice of ham was fine, I have vacationed in France and that is how I remember it done. That it took over 25 minutes from the time I ordered it until I got it was too long. Keeping with the food, it comes with French fries but we were able to substitute with their potatoes. My wife was looking for a healthier side and that wasn't it, just deep fried potato in a different shape. She did ask about a small salad, which she could have gotten but would have come with a $4 upcharge. In Europe having a little salad on the same plate is quite common, so this varied from that. Prices were already a bit high at around $17. I say around because they assess a 4% fee if you use a credit card, so the bill has both a cash and a credit total. Anyway, that encourages people to pay cash, as we did. I liked the French music playing in the background. Blvd Café is a small place, small tables inside either separate or combined to seat more people. They also have a few tables outside where I watched happy diners and dogs interacting.

Ample and wonderful parking nearby and no charge in Sarasota. (smile) The building and restaurant are crispy new and the inside is operating room quality clean and sanitary. Very well equipped. Various good quality coffees including decaf with Oat Milk and Dairy creams and milks. Endless water that was cold and refreshing. This was a great first visit and we enjoyed the magnificent service, seating and the other diners seemed to be regulars and very happy. A few mis-steps that can easily be addressed but a good experience here for sure. We (wife & I) went with the special Eggs Benedict w/ham and Eggs Benedict Florentine w/ home-style potatoes and 'split" them one each. Our eggs were yoke firm 50% overcooked. The ham was okay, more like a thin sliced lunch-meat - a few thicker sliced Canadian bacon slices would have been heartier and more flavorful? The Hollandaise sauce was fairly bland and flavorless. Maybe the most obvious dislike was the 'English muffin' was very dense and tough. Possibly thawed and it was difficult to cut even with a knife and chewy. Slight toasted might have made this better. Not horrible, just not great or exceptional. My daughter went for the Apple smoked bacon cheddar cheese on a brioche bun/roll with home-style potatoes. She enjoyed it and gave it good marks. Eggs cooked properly and potatoes cooked well and with a slight crisp - perfect. The roll was over toasted (a trace burned) on the top, but ok. To summarize, great place/facility, fantastic service and staff, the ambiance and fellow diners were cheery and happy, and the food was good and does warrant a return trip in the future. (OR your first visit!!! (smile))

Braided Brioche French Toast

By far one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. Who knew that scrambled eggs and cheese could be that incredible. My son and I ordered the same thing, scrambled cheese with eggs, breakfast potatoes and sausage patties and we shared the French toast. Those eggs were so moist and tasty. I am still wondering how eggs can be that good. I had a few bites and said to my husband, these eggs are so good. My son was in total agreement. The potatoes were perfectly cooked and seasoned. I don't eat pork sausage so I passed those off to my husband. The French toast...oh man! It is so thick but so fluffy. The cinnamon flavor is powerful which I really enjoyed. And the fresh fruit on the top is a perfect compliment to it all. We got up the next day and both my son and I wanted so badly to go back for round two of breakfast but couldn't make it work in our schedule. This is a definite must go to restaurant. FANTASTIC!

The moment you enter, you are embraced by a cascade of twinkling fairy lights that shimmer like stardust against a twilight sky. Fresh flowers bloom in every corner, their sweet fragrance mingling with the comforting aroma of steeping tea and freshly baked cakes. The menu is a delightful symphony of flavors, with each dish crafted as if by fairy hands. The tea sandwiches are dainty yet satisfying, their ingredients so fresh they seem to have been gathered from a mystical garden just moments before. The salads are vibrant and bursting with life, each leaf and garnish adding to the overall tapestry of flavors. And, of course, the cakes! The cakes are tiny works of art, each bite a burst of sweetness that leaves you floating on clouds of pure bliss. Even the soups, served in charming little teacups, are more than just a meal--they are comfort and warmth, a gentle embrace on a slow afternoon. Each spoonful is like a chapter in a story you never want to end. In this enchanting restaurant, you don't just dine--you dream. Every moment here feels like a stolen piece of a fairy tale, and you'll find yourself lingering, not wanting to break the spell. Whether you come alone to sip tea and read by the soft glow of the fairy lights or with friends to share laughter over a tray of delicate sandwiches, you'll leave with your heart a little lighter and your spirit a little brighter. To say that the owner of this enchanting establishment is just as magical as the place she's created would be an understatement. Kathryn is the heart and soul of this fairy-tale haven, a living embodiment of the kindness and beauty that fills every corner of her restaurant. Her presence is like a gentle breeze, warm and soothing, making everyone who walks through the door feel instantly at home. Her generosity is evident not just in the thoughtful touches that make each visit special--like the fresh flowers that greet you at every table or the extra care taken to ensure each dish is perfect--but in the way she treats each guest like an old friend. There's a sweetness in her smile that makes you feel as though you've known her for years, and a gentle warmth in her words that wraps around you like a comforting blanket. She moves with a quiet grace, always attentive, yet never intrusive. Whether she's offering a kind word, making sure your tea is just right, or sharing a delightful story, she does so with a lightness that leaves you feeling cherished and cared for. It's clear that this restaurant is more than just a business to her--it's a labor of love, a place where she pours her heart into every detail. In a world that often feels rushed and impersonal, the owner's presence is a reminder of the beauty of kindness and the power of a generous spirit. She has created not just a restaurant, but a sanctuary--a place where time slows down, and you can savor not just the food, but the warmth of human connection. To dine here is to be touched by her sweetness, and to leave with your heart a little fuller, your day a little brighter. Thank you, Kathryn, for creating such a beautiful safe haven for all who enter. As long as this establishment is standing, I will be there in attendance.

Walking by the…read morebuilding you are greeted by a gorgeous mural of a cat just giving you a small taste of what's inside. I really loved the theming inside the Cafe, pink is one of my favorite colors and I felt like they used the cafe space pretty well. They offer a variety of baked goods including different flavors of baklava and spinach pie. The menu also includes some fun drinks including coffee, tea and cocktails along with sorbet and gelato! We ended up trying their hot Mocha and the siamese mocktail which was ginger ale, mango, almond, vanilla and agave. We also treated ourselves to a piece of the chocolate baklava which was phenomenal, definitely give that treat a try it was a good balance of depth from the cocoa and sweetness (not pictured because we practically inhaled it). The coffee was really yummy, I did find the mocktail delicious but very sweet with my initial sips even after stirring (prior to letting the ice melt) being very syrupy (I wonder if there is a way to make it less sweet or to ask for maybe half pumps of syrups or to swap ginger ale for sparkling water), other than that the flavor combo was good just very sugary. We did purchase a day pass to play with cats which are held in a separate area visible from the cafe. I found the price of $20 for unlimited time during your stay to be pretty fair. The cats were all pretty sleepy during our visit and we anticipated a bit more cats to be present and about, (however this may be a good thing), despite this we were able to make a good time petting the cats in their perch and playing with them with the vast amount of toys available. The inside of the cat area was a bit sparse in terms of places to sit with the cats and comfy areas to lounge with them for play so that made staying an extended time a little uncomfy, we broke up our time by playing with the cats, enjoying the cafe and then playing with the cats again. Luckily re-entry was allowed in this case. We went on a Monday afternoon, so this may be due to the timing in the day but if you are expecting a place with many playful cats this may not be the place. Especially if multiple people are present you may be having to vie for attention from a few cats. However, if you are willing to move around and make your own fun and are okay with seeing cats acting in a way that is more consistent with how they would be in a normal home environment than you would have a great time, this environment is truly perfect for those looking to adopt for that reason! I appreciate the mission of Katys Cat cafe and glad I could support.
