3 taco special. Pork and beef
    Cheryl W.

This place is inside Glazier's Grocery store all the way in the back. I got the 3 tacos and drink special for $6.99 on Saturdays. The pork and beef were seasoned well. I highly recommend this place if you want something cheap and fast. Staff was nice.

Despite all this, the 2 cooks and Emilia and Carla working front of house kept a good attitude and served everyone as quick as they could. The portions are BIG and very filling, and the salsa verde is pretty spicy. There's a lot of good flavor in the food - we got Chilaquiles and Caldo de Rez. We wished we were more hungry to keep eating Also - they have a good selection of beers in bottles. Would recommend

From the outside, the restaurant looks like a 'sit down and be served' place, however, it is ran like a fast food restaurant. Whereas, you go up and order at the counter, and the very busy cashier, server, order taker, takes your money, and eventually will bring your food out. We lucked out and there was no one at the counter when we walked in. However, by the time we left, there was a long line waiting to order, probably about 20 minutes just to order. I only saw one cook in the back, but there may have been someone else. The food was remarkably very good. Also, this is Utah, so expect the 'third degree' and a caution to not take your beer outside should you choose to have a beer with your dinner. They ID everyone if you order a beer. You have to do your own bussing, and be prepared to sit down at a table that has not been wiped down. They need a larger staff in my view. I will probably not return as Kanab as several other options for dinning.

We stopped because the outdoor patio was full even though it was only 4pm. Our motto is, if the parking lot/patio is full, the food must be good. It proved true at Escobar's. We both enjoyed the chiles rellenos. They are made fresh to order and include a delicious sauce and onions, which is different than the ones we've had in Wickenburg and Phoenix, AZ. The rice and beans were also delicious and the prices are also very good. Although they serve bottled beer we settled for soda since we had a long drive ahead of us. Because the patio was full we ate inside. The dining room is bright and pleasant. Walls are filled with Mexican art. Service was quick and pleasant. This is definitely a great choice for Mexican food in Kanab, UT.

Anyway, these folks were really nice, typical Mexican fare, great flavors. I had the chile relleno & chicken enchilada. They make the sauce to cover the relleno with huge chunks of tomato, so that added a big hearty flavor, which I really liked. Plenty to eat, constant refills of my ice tea & everyone in there was very happy. A great place & one to revisit.

Very flavorful, proteins were moist and tender, salsas and sides were fresh. The service was great. Side note - Try the hot sauce! VERY flavorful with a little kick. Would be a 5 star experience but there's a couple of downsides: Parking the lot is very small and we ended up paying to park across the street. Since it was just the two of us, we were seated at the bar instead of the main dining room, which was a bit tight on space but manageable. I enjoyed the blueberry fruit lemonade. Chips, guacamole, and queso were also devoured. The sweet potato tamales were excellent (pork), and we loved the entrées so much we ordered TWO of these. We also tried 3 tacos (blackened shrimp, al pastor, lime grilled chicken). The shrimp was good, but the others were average and not something we'd order again. Black beans and mixed greens that come with many entrées were both surprisingly good. Dessert was also a great choice! The Chocolate Pecan Brownie Crème Brûlée was the clear winner, and the mixed berry crisp with vanilla bean ice cream was good, but we'd definitely choose the crème brûlée again.
