Million dollar view and exceptional baked goods but that's where it stops. Check in and stay reminds one at visiting a Royal Farms store. Bathrooms are RV sized, beds r 4 tossing, and there's no real beach. Good value for just a short stay and go.

The view from Cabin #6

Can I give more than 5 stars?? Starting with the cabin, we stayed in #6 and had the best view of Mount Desert island and all the small islands in between. Everything was just the necessities, which was great for a peaceful getaway, no TV which basically forced us to continually explore (which is exactly what we needed). Don has to be one of the nicest and helpful inn keepers. One of the days it was down-pouring and he gave us a day trip recommendation that turned out to be one of our favorite days here. We'd been to Mount Desert before to visit Acadia a couple years ago and wanted to see the Schoodic district of the park and this is only 15 minutes from that, we still went over to the main island and was an easy 1 hour drive. I cannot wait to come back here!

The views were stunning. We really enjoyed relaxing on the balcony in the morning and evening to watch the sunrise and sunset. The owner was very friendly and helped us plan our hikes and daily itinerary. We found Bar Harbor to be somewhat crowded this time of year, and enjoyed retreating back to this peaceful place.

Sunset on the deck- enjoying with a cold beer on tap.

We recommend to skip the crowds and stay at this relaxed inn with a stunning view and the friendliest service around! We stayed in one of the private (dog-friendly) cabins and had the most stress-free day's imaginable. The breakfast was wonderful and there is cold beer on tap for cool evenings on the deck watching the sunset. Truly, the owners could not be more accommodating. We loved the opportunity to casually interact with other guests in the common areas, as well, including a fire pit for all to enjoy. There is a take out seafood restaurant down the street where you can get cooked lobsters- bring back to enjoy on the deck overlooking the ocean. Pure paradise!

This place felt like home away from home. If you want to get away and disconnect, this place is where to go. From the continental breakfast where the owner will help you plan your day to the views from around the property, it's perfect.

So we went here for Lobster summer roll after a long day of hiking...thinking it would be a lobster…read moreroll. Good thing we asked the waitress about it- I think we would have been surprised by what it actually is (more of a sushi type thing). We ended up skipping the lobster summer roll and instead got the grilled artichokes, chicken piccata, and the paella. All of the food (and drinks) were SO good. Absolutely amazing food we were blown away! The chicken piccata was perfectly cooked (I'm picky about my chicken) and the sauce was absolutely perfect for the meal. My boyfriend's paella was also amazing- he said it was the best he's had over here! The food and overall experience were great- we loved the vibe of the place and was the perfect dinner for the end of our vacation. Service was also great and quick- next time we're in the area we'll be stopping by again!

Arriving a little late, Chef was gracious enough to allow us to order a pinch behind normal kitchen closing, and everyone serving us was a ridiculously sweet, funny, helpful delight. Our food- 100/10. Tender lobster in the truffle risotto, smashing burger, perfect mussels, to die for appetizers and quick service. I loved my pineapple spicy margarita as well! Coming in as a highlight on our Maine trip so far- nothing but vibes from the people, the place, the plates and everything in between.

There's so much character and thought placed into designing every nook and cranny of this Inn. The front desk lady was very friendly and accommodating. Our room was quite small - barely fitting a queen size bed in the room, leaving minimal walking space. Our bathroom was also very small. It had a toilet, a small sink, and a very narrow shower. We didn't mind the size of the room because we spent most of our time hiking around Acadia. The staff at Maples Inn was very kind and shared some of their favorite hikes and their tips and tricks into finding the best experiences. The lobby also has a few snacks that are perfect grab and go for the trails. Their breakfast is also tasty, delicious and cooked on order! One thing to note is that they have 2 small, gravel parking spots on either side of the inn. They will also provide a parking permit for your car that will cover street parking during the dates of your stay at the inn. During peak season, I can only imagine how hard it must be to find parking nearby though.

If you're a history buff, you'll love catching up on some of the details about the construction and design of the property, including the quarry from where the stone for the facade came from. Really cool to check out a place built more than a century ago. The rooms we stayed in came equipped with a few modern touches. My husband and I stayed in the Chatswold, with body jets in the shower. My parents went with the Tallyrand and loved the built-in steam room after the weather turned and we got rained out coming back from brunch. The only downside to the room was that the bathroom door didn't shut completely and would swing a little ajar. One perk of a B&B that I always like is the innkeepers' little touches. The one breakfast we did try - scones and huevo rancheros - was absolutely delicious, big kudos to Brad and Nadine for making everything from scratch. I could have eaten five more of the scones. The warm chocolate chip cookies put out every afternoon were also very much welcomed. There were also bananas and cold bottled tap water. Super convenient location - the downtown strip is only a minute away and you're smack dab in between a ton of great restaurants (Havana and Peekytoe are a few steps down, Choco Latte has great muffins and coffee). Would definitely love to come back.

Lompoc is one of the most vegetarian friendly dinner spots in Bar Harbor…read more They don't take reservations and offer three seating arrangements: the patio, the bar, and a small inside area with four or so tables. I would have liked to sit outside on their cute patio, but it was full and the hostess said it would be a long wait, so we decided to eat inside. At first she directed us to a table in the bar but realized it was very loud (music and patrons) so offered to seat us in the other inside section. We had a view of a bocce match and the patio--definitely better than the bar, but not as nice as the patio. They were playing classic rock and the people at the table next to us asked to turn it down, and they were accommodated, which made for a nicer experience for us as well. The falafel wrap and Banh Mi (v) were very good and the chips can be substituted for a house salad or fries, which we did. The dressing was light and I enjoyed it. The highlight of the experience at Lompoc was dessert. Although there was nothing vegan on the dessert menu, our server suggested an "off the menu" rhubarb raspberry sorbet, which was excellent! And doesn't it enhance the experience when you feel like they're letting you in on something special?! I'd definitely return and try to get there early (4:30) to be able to sit outside.

The staff is always exceptionally kind and forthcoming with their opinions on the food which makes it known they genuinely enjoy it too. The last time I was here I got the bang bang chicken and was able to even get the spicy sauce in the side so I could control my spice level. The true winner for the night was a chocolate carrot cake from a local bakery in town. It was decadent yet well balanced and a hefty portion that I would have regretted if I finished entirely. This place has a unique vibe compared to all the other spots in Bar Harbor and has something for everyone. Do not miss this place when in town.
