If you are visiting the Bar Harbor, ME area I highly recommend Acadia Bay Inn B&B. Retired from their previous professions, Angie and Todd have chosen to share their gifts of exceptional hospitality as natural-born innkeepers...friendly, accommodating, and helpful! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with such incredible warmth that extended throughout our entire stay. After giving us a tour of the home and property, both Todd and Angie happily shared local secrets of the best places to visit in and around the area. (Do not miss Raven's Nest on the Schoodic Peninsula!) The newly-renovated Victorian-style home is flawlessly appointed with antiques--each room embracing you with comfort and serenity. When we booked, the only room available was the smallest of the 7 rooms that has a private balcony that overlooked the front of the property, but it was very cozy and comfortable with plenty of room for my husband and me. A wood-burning fireplace is the centerpiece in the living room that welcomes you in the evening after a long day of sight-seeing. The view from the back of the house is simply spectacular! A rolling hill of grass leads to the shore of Frenchman's Bay, where you can sit in any one of the comfortable chairs, or a double swing under the porch, or on the private balcony if you are in one of the rooms that overlooks the back, and enjoy a glass of wine watching the sunset. Todd is a culinary master, lovingly preparing his signature breakfasts each morning. The next time we visit, we will be sure to try their home-cooked dinners...we didn't partake this visit but those who did raved about them!! We felt like we arrived as guests and left as friends! Business blocked me on Facebook when I agreed with another poster that we do not enjoy dogs. They advertise as dog free, then they have their own dog they advertise that guests are expected to interact with and pet. They obviously block any questions or concerns about the dog. Unfortunately the grounds surrounding the property are covered in dog waste, and as a property claiming to be dog free this is disgusting. Definitely will look elsewhere for a vacation stay. read more

We stayed here for our wedding trip in July and we honestly couldn't have picked a better place to enjoy our trip. Our every need and request was attended to with warmth and hospitality. The beautiful character and charm of the premises, rooms and decor made our first look photos picturesque. The breakfasts were unique, delicious & a bright start to our day. We had such a comfortable stay, chatting with the hosts, other guests, and enjoying the waterfront views of the property. They also have a great selection of books! I love B&B's, but hubby up until this point had never been to one, so he was understandably uncertain. After a really great stay in Bar Harbor, we decided to do one day in a B&B to see what he thought, and thankfully with the awesome experience we had at Acadia Bay Inn, he's now open to future stays in B&B's. Online, this B&B really shines. I fell in love with the pictures, and was so excited to get there and experience it in person. Despite my high expectations, this experience was even BETTER than I was hoping for! We had a great pre-stay with texts from the hospitality team welcoming us in advance and giving us info on check in and arrival info. When we arrived, we were both impressed. The location is right on the water, and on an immaculately manicured plot. We were greeted heartily by Todd, and along with another couple, we were given the tour and shown around the property. Every turn seemed to hold something beautiful, and the more time we spent, the more we loved it. We stayed in the Teaberry room, which was gorgeous. The main downside of this experience was the slope of the flooring, which was hard for me with proprioception issues, especially at night. The bed however was plush and comfortable, and the room was beautifully appointed. Before dinner we took a long walk along the beachfront, and had a cocktail in the Adirondack chairs on the back lawn. We remarked multiple times that the view was so beautiful, it looked like it was fake. The cocktail was good, but the ambiance and location was top notch. While there, we were accompanied by Sophie, the grounds kitty, who made sure we were not feeling alone, and was super cute. In the morning, we got up early and watched the sun rise. Todd and Angie set out a coffee and tea station for the early birds, and we helped ourselves while we waited for breakfast. 8am sharp breakfast was served, and it was beautiful on the wraparound deck. The best part of that was the dryer-warmed blankets they wrapped around us to ward off the early morning chill. Great attention to detail. Overall, this experience was wonderful. We felt really cared for by this beautiful home, and the team that run it. Our only gripes were the flooring, which comes with the territory of an old house, and that we could only stay one night which is also understandable since they had a wedding booked that whole next weekend. You really get more bang for your buck with a B&B, and Acadia with Angie and Todd do it better than most. Would absolutely return here, and definitely recommend it. read more

10 stars!!! I've traveled extensively and stayed in all kinds of places, but nowhere I've stayed (in 20+ countries) comes even close to Acadia Bay Inn. Not only is the B&B uniquely set in one of the most picturesque locations that you can possibly imagine, it has been thoughtfully and purposely renovated, with furnishings that stop you to admire their beauty. Yes, I did take pics of chairs. And vintage tablecloths. And teacups. And lots of food pics. But the secret ingredient to this beautiful B&B is the amazing innkeepers, Angie & Todd, who it turns out are relatively new to this sort of thing, and have such a gift in welcoming guests and making you feel as if the world of work and stress are far, far away. We were on a 3-week leaf-peepers trip in October and Acadia Bay Inn was by far the best accommodation we had during the whole trip. They have literally thought of everything. Staying here really takes you back in time, even down to the music they play. The relaxing space, atmosphere and views really encourage you to enjoy and appreciate your time here. We just came home from a wonderful time in Maine, Vermont and Quebec City. One of the highlights for us was staying at the Acadia Bay Inn. Our stay at Acadia Bay Inn was absolutely everything we hoped for! To start, the inn itself is just beautiful, both exterior and interior. Our room was impeccable, extremely clean, and all of the amenities were very nice. The decor was very charming and welcoming. Angie and Todd were the best hosts we could have asked for!! They were so warm, and welcoming, knowledgeable, and truly made our experience wonderful. Todd was able to give us great hiking tips for Acadia national park, and Angie told us about a great local blueberry field that we picked. Now, for the food, let's just say that the breakfasts Todd and Angie served at the inn were the best meals of our whole trip. Next time we will be requesting to eat dinner at the inn rather than going into town and eating at a restaurant! All of the ingredients were super fresh, the dishes were creative and unique, and you could tell they put a ton of effort and thought into it. The view from the back porch where you eat all of your meals is so beautiful and relaxing. We would sit long after our meals were done to soak the view in. The location of the inn is great. It is close to Acadia national park and Bar Harbor. It was a quick 35 minute drive into town, and it was nice staying out of the busy tourist area in Bar Harbor. We recently spent two nights at Acadia Bay Inn. This was our first B&B experience. It was absolutely perfect! Hosts Todd & Angie are very friendly and inviting and prepare wonderful breakfasts. Our room, Wisteria, has a view of Frenchmen's Bay. We were able to spend several hours relaxing on the deck since we had unseasonably warm weather in early October. We would highly recommend Acadia Bay Inn as the hosts are friendly, knowledgeable and the location is convenient for sight seeing in the area. Breakfasts are exquisite and the home is beautiful! We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful inn! Innkeepers, Anjie and Todd did everything to make our stay relaxing. The breakfast was delicious, flavorful and varied. You won't need lunch after Todds many courses. The view was breathtaking from our deck. We enjoyed lounging in the evening overlooking the bay. We saw eagles Ospreys and seals. At night the stars shown brightly and there were fireflies a below on the lawn. We will be back for sure during leaf peeping season! read more

This place is simply beautiful. The location, looking across the bay toward Mt Desert Island provided incredible views. Our room had a balcony overlooking the bay we would have liked to simply sit on and soak it in all day. If we have a regret about staying here is that it wasn't for a longer period. Angie and Todd, our hosts, were very attentive and made the stay one that felt warm and welcoming. Breakfast was on a beautiful porch, again looking at the water. The Inn is also near part of the National Park that folks do not always get to and that we hope to fully explore on our next visit if Angie and Todd will find a room for us. A 2 night, 3-day stay is not enough. Welcoming, warm, quaint, clean and I was off to a great start. Food was excellent and the presentation was amazing. Two meals a day were more than enough when Angie and Todd are cooking and serving. The ocean views of Cadillac Mountain provided the serene and quiet moments for contemplation so much appreciated and needed. The warmth of the owners is second to none. Location of the Inn makes for an easy travel from anywhere. By the time I arrived, I was already relaxed due to the easy ride. I will return again and again. Much to do in this beautiful area. My wife and I spent a week here in August. What beautiful place it is. The location is perfect and the Inn is just exactly what the location deserves. We were able to easily drive to a new site everyday to enjoy the beauty of Maine. Breakfast each day was a delicious relaxed event on the deck over looking the beautiful bay. Angie and Todd could not have been better hosts. Our room had a fantastic view of the bay and was decorated period correct (at least I think) giving it a real home feel. We will definitely go back.
