Dr. Ficklin performed knee surgery on our St. Bernard in early fall of 2024. From the initial diagnosis to determining the necessary repairs and guiding us through surgery and recovery, Dr. Ficklin was outstanding in every way. It took several months for our dog to regain full confidence in her knee, but she is now doing great and back to her rambunctious self. The care and professionalism of Dr. Ficklin and his staff were exceptional from start to finish. We are incredibly grateful for their expertise and support. On Feb. 13th, my vet saw my 5-year-old Sheltie for dehydration and not eating. By midmorning, he transferred him to Blue Pearl Spring, diagnosed with ideopathic IMHA (no underlying conditions) and a coagulation issue, and in dire need of a blood transfusion. Several days later, he was stable and armed with a large medication protocol he came home. With an appt x1 week for more BW, and more to follow. March 1st, he was in respiratory distress and I rushed him back. They stabilized him with O2, and x-rays showed a small blood clot in his lower lungs. We agreed he would stay the night, wean him off the O2 and meet him with Dr. Dropkin the next morning. I got the call at 3am that he passed away (alone) they advised me to take a couple of days and call and let them know what I wanted to do. So I called, I think, about 24- 48 hours later, when I thought I could have a coherent conversation about it. They explained the options, I chose private cremation & memorial package, i waa told it would take about 2 weeks. I advised them to send me the invoice, and said I need to move some $$ around and would take care of it by the end of the month, not a problem. (Between both vets, two ER visits, a hospital stay with blood transfusion, follow up appts, and his multiple (6)  prescriptions at CVS with no insurance, I was already out over $10,000 in a matter of 2 -2.5 weeks). A couple of days later, I received a very sincere message from Dr. Dropkin, he was on her mind that evening, she wished we had a different outcome, and she assured me that she saw and knew and we did all we could we for him and she knows that he was LOVED and we would have continued to do whatever it took to save him (it was so kind I saved it). I sent her and the staff a heartfelt thank you note and my favorite pic of Ghost playing in the pool. I told them I wish they could have seen or known him before this happened. March 20 I received a TEXT (not a phone call) from Jazmyne in their office stating since I haven't paid his invoice (another $900, small compared to what I've paid to date) HE WOULD GO OUT THAT DAY FOR COMMUNAL CREMATION AND I WOULDN'T GET ANY AHSES OR MEMORIAL FOR HIM. SHE would adjust my invoice and email, if I had questions, call her. I immediately called and simultaneously paid the invoice, Jazmyne was not available. The woman who answered the phone assured me she updated the computer, and he would be sent out for PRIVATE CREMATION, everything was fine. She apologized and said, "Don't worry, it's all taken care of." Even text me the same. Yesterday, I reread rhe text and thought. NOPE-NOT SATISFIED. So I called and spoke to the PM. When I read the TEXT to her, she was appalled and truly apologetic this happened and pulled up my account to take a look. I mentioned, I have never received an invoice for the March ER/hospital and memorial paid for. She then told me NOONE updated the account the day before, and my dog was still flagged for COMMUNAL CREMATION... I told her I need verification they have my dog, and if not, I'm on my way to their office. She called back and assured me he was there. I could tell she was beside herself over the whole situation and assured me she will get this all taken care of, and had me forward the text message string starting with Jazmyne's message etc. However, by then (hysterically crying again) I told her I need proof it's him, I can't believe anything at this point, please send a pic of his paws, which she did. I asked if he would go out today, Wednesday, & she thought so but would be in contact. The PM has been sympathetic, helpful, and very apologetic, but this NEVER SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED. I have spent the evening, spiraling, crying again because it is just a cluster at this point.It's like I just lost him all over again. They  NEVER said he would sit their until I paid that invoice. They just assured me it would all be taken care of and take about 2 weeks. I decided, if they can't GAURANTEE he is going out today, I would arrange for his pick up today and processed on my own, and I get him back in a matter of days, not two weeks. I called the provider, who was highly recommended as soon as they opened. She assured me he was already picked up and on his way. Later, there were still no invoices, I asked the PM about them and double-checked that he was gone. Her reply was, "He would be picked tomorrow, blah blah." I replied,"Really? I already contacted the crematorium and confirmed he went today." She said oh I just asked what our pick up days were and told you that, but have now checked the freezer and they are empty! Needlessto say, I called back to crematorium, and verified him by breed, and markings, she also marked him high priority and he will be delivered to MY vet asap. Again, the care we received 100% satisfied. The front desk, accounting. and especially  Jazmyne should not be dealing with grieving parents. I can't say good enough things about BluePearl-Spring My dog tore her ACL and required TPLO surgery. She's a very anxious dog and I'm a very anxious dog mom. Her consultation was great with Dr. Hinton. Not only was she so sweet to my dog but she was very thorough in explaining why she needed the surgery and how the surgery would go. During and after the surgery the staff sent me text updates and photos of my girl. They seem to truly care about animals and making them feel better. And not just the animals - their owners too. Believe it or not I've been to animal hospitals and veterinary offices that I will never return to bc we felt like just another dollar bill and not patients. But, not at BluePearl. After having a nightmare experience at Gulf Coast Emergency Vet, we were hoping this would be better and overall it was. Any emergency vet will come with a long wait. We knew that already, but the staff here does their best to get everyone in as quick as possible based on severity of each patient. I want to give a special shout out to Kassie, one of the vet techs who graciously and kindly took our dog back for a second round of vitals while we waited to see the doctor. After reporting our dog's vitals had improved and her overall condition was improving, we decided to leave to monitor her at home since we had already waited for almost 3 hours. Nobody forced us to stay and noone forced us to leave our dog in the back in a cage while we waited unlike Gulf Coast. An emergency with your pet is stressful, uncomfortable and nerve wracking but this place does their absolute best to alleviate those things and you don't get the icky feeling that they only want to run your bill up. read more

If I could go lower than 1, i would. This place is absolutely horrible. They will destroy you. Long story, but I need people to know mine. On Dec 2nd, 2024, my weenie dog was let out to potty and got attacked (in a fenced-in yard). I got to her wrapped her up and took off to our vet. Our vet assessed her, took x-rays, and decided he was not equipped to perform the surgery she needed. Her jaw was severely broken in 4/5 places. The rest of her overall was well. He called Blue Pearl and let them know he is sending us to the he gave her a sedative to keep her comfortable and sent all the xrays to them. So we took off to bluepearl, which is about an hr from us. Upon arrival, we checked in and was told to sit down. My dog is bleeding everywhere about 45 mins later they came and got her, and I was told to wait. I waited 4.5 hrs of just dread. They have 2 glass rooms and a lady was in one with her pet and they put it to sleep right there for everyone to see this poor lady holding her baby cry im scared to death and just cry even more. Finally, someone came and pulled me to a room. The dr came in and said that they really haven't looked at her yet but based on everything 5am tue morning they will sedate her do a ct to make sure they are not missing anything and take her straight back into surgery. I questioned her overall well-being if she would have a good quality of life. I was assured that even though all surgery's are risky, she overall is healthy and everything else looks great they see no reason she wouldn't do wonderful. I was told the surgery and everything she needs will be 6000-6500, and I agree to anything for her. They came back in with the paperwork any told me I have to pay now but it will be 8000$ and could go up to 10000$ I couldn't understand this but kept being told this is what you have to do. I was already in a horrible state, so I was worried about her. I paid the $ 8000 that night. 5am tue comes im holding my phone waiting for the call she is in surgery I get nothing till 9 am a text that she is stable and comfortable and they will be starting the surgery soon. 1pm come haven't heard anything so I call. The surgery still hasn't been done and moved to Wednesday at 5am. Mind you, her jaw is just kinda hanging there she cannot eat or drink. I'm heartbroken knowing she is just in a cage alone and scared. I want to be there, but an hr away with children is hard. I told them to please keep me updated that I will be there when she gets out of surgery in the morning. Again, I ask if she will have a great chance of recovery, and he says yes, she is strong and healthy, just a broken jaw, nothing else. Wednesday, Dec 4th. 5am comes, i haven't slept any waiting for the text. I finally get an update that she is doing good and went out to potty. Everything is looking great, and they will get her ready for surgery. At this point, they have me full of hope hope that my baby will come home and be ok. I hope that she is in the best hands. An hour later, I get a call from the vet that I need to come in. I was already heading that way, thinking surely the surgery is done it's after 1 pm. I'll never forget being set down in the waiting room for an hr and then finally pulled back and being told they will need more money I told them I do not have anymore I just gave them 8k why do they need more if you quoted me 6-6500 originally. They still haven't done the surgery for 3 days she has sat with her jaw broken in 5 places 2 days she has sat alone in a cage. 2 days of being confused and in pain. They never even cleaned the blood off of her. I was then told that all the sudden her brain is swelling, and she just needed to be put down. I was hysterical all this hope you filled me with for you to just leave her there and never even attempt the surgery. Why? My son and I are sitting in this room holding our baby crying. Behind the door all we can hear is the drs making fun of someone (i just pray it wasnt my son)saying that's a country fed boy a nurse is cracking up and saying it's corn fed and they are just loudly laughing. And I understand that life goes and and people do there on thing but them and the dr and nurse should have more respect for their patients. They come in and give her the medicine, and she goes to sleep forever in my arms. Then come back with the bill and says well it wasn't quite 8000 so we will refund you that little bit, but why if you never even done the surgery was it over 7k when I was originally quoted 6-65k. This place will stab you when you are already down they will fill you with hope just to brutally rip it from you. They will take every dime you have and just say o well when you have nomore to give. I recently had to take my dog, Sam, to Blue Pearl Pet Hospital, and my experiences with them have been truly mixed. When Sam was hospitalized from Wednesday, October 9th, to Sunday, October 13th, I was very impressed with the compassionate care he received. I could tell the team genuinely cared for him, and it made a difficult time much easier. Dr. Nguyen, Dr. Gardner, and the care staff, particularly Dunaway and her team, went above and beyond. Dunaway left a lasting impression on me--her empathy and dedication were clear, not just in the way she handled cost discussions but in how she connected with Sam. She even held my hand during tough moments, showing true compassion and sensitivity. However, my opinion of Blue Pearl took a sharp turn when I returned with Sam on October 29th at around 2:30 a.m. The experience that night felt like a completely different hospital. The person handling the estimates was cold and seemed almost indifferent to the gravity of the situation. When I decided against euthanizing Sam there, she appeared upset and even rude, particularly in her blunt comment about CPR having only a 5% chance to live. It was heart-wrenching to be in a situation where I didn't know if I would be bringing Sam home, yet the staff's approach made me feel unsupported and isolated. Another concern is the hospital's internal communication. They use radios for constant updates, and it was unsettling to hear announcements about payments or account statuses over the radios. This transparency felt out of place and added a layer of discomfort. At one point, I was sent a payment link after forgetting my credit card and was told that treatment wouldn't start until payment was confirmed, which left me confused and worried--what would they do for Sam if the payment didn't go through immediately? It seems that the priority is getting the money and then we'll worry about the pet later. Blue Pearl also seems to operate heavily on financial transactions rather than compassionate care. It seems everyone has a number, here were ours. My first hospitalization costs for Sam totaled $6,000, with additional payments of $1,007 and $1,078. This was just for his initial visit. When I returned the second time, I spent $900 just to pick him up and take him to his final place, only to be told at the end that the total was actually $922--so I had to swipe my card for another $22. It's disheartening to see how they seem to play on people's love for their pets. There was no room for installment payments, no flexibility if I couldn't pay on the spot, and no understanding if my funds weren't immediately available. If I hadn't been able to cover these costs right away, I don't know what would have happened to Sam. Well, actually that's not true, he would have passed before hospitalization. In summary, Blue Pearl has some incredibly compassionate staff who seem to truly care about their patients and their owners. But my later experience raised serious concerns about their policies and handling of sensitive situations. I walked away feeling like every interaction was a transaction, and any trust I had in them was lost. Training in compassion, better communication, and a more humane approach to payment policies would greatly benefit their team and the clients who come to them in times of distress. read more

An ER vet is never a place you want to go. I've been lucky to find my way to some top notch ones thanks to my journeys with Anna. But BluePearl may take the cake. It is so stressful as a pet owner to not be able to go in to the vet with your babies. However, I totally understand the caution during these times and appreciate the approach to avoiding the spread of Covid. The team at BluePearl does a great job of staying in touch along the way to make sure you know what's going on and how everything is going. Both the tech and the vet went on and on about how sweet Anna was... like, I had to make sure they were giving me the right cat back. She is usually quite scared of strangers, so I know their handling technique is top notch if she was calm the whole time. Cost is average for an emergency vet. Earlier today, we had to say goodbye to our sweet Chevelle after nearly 15 years. We had prolonged the inevitable and found ourselves in an emergency situation. With COVID, our expectations of holding her paw as she crosses the rainbow bridge were shattered. In place of that expectation was so much more. The car evaluation quickly led to a sedation to stop the seizures. The staff prepped her for crossing while i arrived. They let my husband and i say our goodbyes privately at the employee entrance. We were not rushed. Every person we spoke to was so very compassionate and apologetic for our loss. My husband and i are so grateful that a difficult experience was met with such a level of care. After we said our goodbyes, we paid via phone. The individual we spoke with quickly identified that there was a planned service on our bill that we hadn't received due to her advanced condition. She reprocessed our invoice and ensured we only paid for what was appropriate. For some, this may be a base expectation. For us, it was an additional consideration in a difficult time. You are not let inside the building so a nurse has to meet you outside after they get your info. I went early enough on a Sunday morning so I was seen within an hour. Wait time, exam, and treatment was about 3 hours. Luckily she didn't need any stitches so exam and prescriptions (antibiotic and pain med) were around $200. I brought my 1 y/o pitbull here to make sure a scratch on his neck was not infected and I am not happy about my experience. These people put a rope around his neck immediately when we were approached by the nurse. I tried to trust it, but the nurse came out after 5 minutes saying he was not trusting of them and that he needed to be muzzled. I should have trusted my gut because he's never been muzzled, not even by his primary veterinarian, but I really wanted to make sure he had not gotten an infection. The nurse sends him back out after 3 minutes saying they couldn't do the exam because he was "skiddish", but I was horrified. Because they did not prioritize his comfort, my dog's eyes were a bloody red, and his nose was bleeding. These people are not knowledgable in keeping an animal as calm as possible. The nurse asked me does he act this way with his vet and I said no, he loves his vet. They tried to treat my dog as an aggressive dog the entire time, and I can only imagine the methodologies once they take them to the back. Bottom line, NEVER BEING YOUR DOG HERE. We took our 7 year old mini whoodle, Addy here after she became ill and wouldn't eat or drink. She has been so healthy her entire life. After staying in critical care and receiving treatment over several days, we were told there was basically nothing we could do. Everyone was very compassionate for the most part. The problem and the reason for my low score is how they treat their patients/families after they receive their money. A week after losing Addy, I noticed my 3 year old toddler was getting baby formula out and our other dog was getting into it. After doing some research online it seemed possible this could have been the cause. I wanted to speak with Addy's doctor who treated her and see if this was a potential cause not only to receive closure but also to be aware so this wouldn't happen to our other dog. I made the call which was worthless, first a doctor wouldn't even take my call, they said to call my vet. I said for $8k I'd hope someone would take my call. Come to find out, the doctor treating Addy is an intern and not on their regular rotation and didn't know if or when he'd be in again. That would have been really nice to know upfront when you are entrusting someone with your family member's life. I was on hold for about 20 minutes. Someone took my call and immediately said I know this is hard to accept sometimes, it's not your fault etc. and I'll have to refer you to poison control. I wish I would have known these things up front. We probably most definitely would have taken our Addy girl somewhere else and maybe she'd actually be back home with us right now. read more

They were very caring and compassionate during our beloved Golden Retrievers last moments. They charge a lot (They asked for $800 at check in and if any special treatment needs done it goes up from there), but our dog pretty much expired as they were wheeling her in the back so they only charged us for the cremation which was much appreciated. It can be expensive, but the staff were very compassionate and I feel like they will do the absolute best they can to ease the suffering of your furry friends. One star. It should be less. We brought our 15mth old American Bully to this facility (Spring, TX). They took her back immediately. We appreciated that, but once in the room that is when things went down hill. The vet came in and was not personable. She gave us a very shallow description of what was going on with our girl. She offered no hope. Instead she said how our AB organs were "probably" failing. I asked her twice "How do you know without test?". She diverted from my questions. She left the room and later came back telling us how she was doing well, she did advise we not take her, but we had already had a horrible experience a year prior. We'd paid $1500 & our male died 5 days later. After she told us nothing...She sent a black nurse in to do damage control. She basically talked us into putting her down. No one gave detailed descriptions of what was going on with her. The doctor NEVER came back. There are still so many unanswered questions...but I'm sure that will cost $140 just to talk to the doctor. I know people say this all the time, but African Americans do get treated differently...And us having an American Bully was another strike against us. The vets at this place is horrible. We know that some are still training, but it doesn't mean they cannot be personable or sincere. We paid $393 & 10minutes later she was put down. No refund, no explanations, no sincere treatment. I am so impressed with this facility, the Technician was incredible. I told her my kitten was regorging her food and she asked me about when and how; when I told her it was sometimes up to 10 hours after eating, but she wretched when she did it. She said that was vomiting, not regorging as we first thought.. The Internist, Dr. Hamme who flies in from Colorado to work here on a rotation sort type basis, well, I am beyond words in how to describe her. Brilliant, isn't enough. She sent medical notes to my email and said to call her in Colorado if I needed her before she came back again. It started with my Birthday gift from my hub's and daughter's family of a former rescue, then adopted 7 month old Siamese kitten. I have had 6 Siamese in my life, and missed the one I lost some yrs ago, but this little kitty had special needs, we learned the first night. Well, as I am required to take my pet within 30 days for a Vet check up for Pet Insurance. I did. I told our Vet we free fed her the first night and she at so much she vomited. Lesson learned..My daughter told me I should not do it, but did I listen? The Vet changed her food and declared her healthy. Well, we portioned out her food and she keep vomiting usually up to 10 hours later, but she likes to eat plastic. So, a few weeks later I took her for a weight check and she had lost weight. Vet did blood work, took xrays and ruled out Megaesphagus and there might be a foreign body in her stomach, referred to Internist at Blue Pearl for a Scope. I was told they contact you to make an appt. So in the meantime, from an online Vet, I feed her only Gerber Chicken and Gravy. Her vomiting was much less. Finally, I called Blue Pearl because I hadn't heard from them and they said I was misinformed about them calling patients to schedule so I made one then. SO, SO grateful I did because Dr. Hamme doesn't feel like scoping cats is worth the money when she can see what she needs on an ultrasound. No foreign body, no abnormalities. She did feel my pet had food allergies. She put her on prescription cat food slowly tapering from the Baby Food percentage wise and while my kitten still wants to eat like I was feeding her with her bowl (incase it was Megaesphagus) on the 2nd run of a stepup ladder, she has not vomited in 3 days. She said the Pica, eating plastic, licking it, etc. was because she wasn't getting the nutrients she needed. She weighed in at 6.5lbs by just eating Chicken Baby Food, up from 4.2lbs. Can't recommend this place enough. Pet friendly, child friendly and people friendly. Huge operation nearly emcompassing nearly the entire strip center. Impressive. read more

This establishment has traumatized me with the absolute most disappointing experience I have ever encountered regarding health services for my pet. They do not even deserve one star for a review. My pet was referred by his vet to this hospital because he was in fact declining very fast due to being newly diagnosed with diabetes. He was experiencing a frightening medical emergency. I was in such a panic that I did not have time to search for another hospital or read reviews. I rushed to where I was referred. My dog was in desperate need of help and I had to act quickly. First and foremost, it was SO disheartening to be told that in order for my pet to begin treatment the cost would START AT $7,000. I was told this by doctor "S" as soon as I was escorted to a room. Doctor "S" casually told me this is the starting cost based on the information provided by my pet's original vet. No in-depth details or concrete treatment plan of what his care would consist of. This was rude and very unexpected. Obviously, I was taken aback and in my frustration the doctor readily suggested euthanasia. I thought that was a very poor demonstration of compassion. I was so emotional and so heartbroken; nonetheless, I wanted my pet to have a fighting chance at healthy survival. My pet was admitted on a Monday afternoon. When I visited my pet on Tuesday, he was doing much better and I was very grateful. On Wednesday evening he was cleared to be discharged. Again, he was just diagnosed with diabetes. He was sent home with insulin, antibiotics, a med to increase his appetite, a glucose reader and syringes. We arrived home at 5:30 pm on Wednesday. Within an hour he was lethargic, unable to stand, urinating uncontrollably and I could not believe my eyes. I called the ER nurse very upset and she simply stated to bring him back. He was there for two nights which totaled to $6200!!! After an hour of being discharged home it appeared as if he had never received any treatment. I shouted to the nurse, "Bring him back after spending $6200 and he's in this condition? I don't trust you all now!" As I type this, I cannot stop my tears. He was now on insulin and it was his specified time to eat but he couldn't eat. He could barely stand! I called the ER again and spoke to nurse "A." She put me on hold for more than 5 grueling minutes, returned to the phone and told me the doctor there said to go ahead and administer the insulin to my pet. WITHIN 3 MINUTES OF ADMINISTERING THE INSULIN (as instructed) my pet began to have shortness of breath, he DEFECATED and DIED IN MY ARMS! He was discharged at 5:30 pm and GONE by 8:40 pm. This was HORRIBLE and I'll forever live with my pet's last moments of him SUFFERING! Again, this is after paying $6200 for treatment. When I transported my pet's remains back to bluepearl, I was then told I could not be refunded for any of the supplies that I was charged for. These items were purchased 4 hours ago at the time of discharge and they were not used. That was unreasonable. Money, money, money is what this place thrives on. Also during his hospitalization, I received texts with updates on his condition with reminders of how much MORE money was due in order for treatment to continue. The doctor would text one amount then when I would call, the financial coordinator would provide a different amount. This was a very stressful ordeal that has left me with terrifying TRAUMA! I would NOT advise or recommend anyone to take a pet possum to this establishment! They are RIDULOUSLY EXPENSIVE, UNORGANIZED and I'd have to say INCOMPETENT! My pet DIED in my arms 3 hours after their "treatment" and guidance! I honestly feel that because I was very vocal about how expensive treatment was that they simply sent my pet home to die. One of the best veterinary clinics I have ever been to. I took my cat, Tiger, there when he started having breathing problems. They figured out what the problem was quickly and gave us our options. Unfortunately, the most humane course of action was to put him to sleep. These people were AMAZING. They were caring and compassionate and let me stay with him during the whole process. They even gave me some time in the room alone with him afterwards to say goodbye and grieve. I highly recommend them to anyone who truly loves their pet/furry family member. read more

The staff is nice, but I feel that they take advantage of your vulnerability at the time of our pet needs. They want to run test after test when I feel they already know the outcome of my pets. I was there today with my buddy Pup who died once we walked into my house this afternoon after leaving the hospital. On occasions, both of my pets died the same day and the following day and they wanted to do more in-depth testing which again I feel they already know the outcome. in my opinion is all about money for them, this is my opinion based on my experience. read more

I was referred to Blue Pearl to have my Maltese Lilly examined because her left leg was lame. After a 10 minute exam of walking the dog and moving her leg, Dr Latimer recommender two surgical options. he didn't do any radiographs. I talked to his receptionist who was supposed to e mail me two options he recommended and I was charged 225.00. I never heard back from them. I actually felt like I was scammed. I checked my spam mail several times nothing, no return follow up calls. I went back to the Vet office in Humble and they went out of business. I had to ask for them to give my dog something for pain and inflammation and was charged 2.00 a pill for an anti-inflammatory the other office sold me for 9.00 for 14 pills. what a rip off. read more

Sad how disgraceful this place is. Money driven and unfortunately I have evidence of that. We took a puppy there we had rescued a month prior and had been fostering. This puppy suddenly became very sick after doing really well, we immediately took to our primary vet where they referred us to blue pearl, and let them know it was an emergency. We sped there, hadn't eaten all day, distraught, and we're out in a room to wait 15-20 minutes, then the vet comes in and tells us how his organs are failing and they don't know why at all, it would require test upwards of 5-6 thousand dollars. Well, we told her we could afford 2 thousand to start off, she seemed nice and optimistic. Came up with a list of test that equaled exactly that and told us to go get some coffee it could take over an hour. We left to get a bite to eat, Not even 15 minutes goes by and I receive a call saying he passed away. but somehow, all those test were done and we were still charged the FULL amount. We didn't argue, I just wanted to know our options moving forward. They offered cremation so I opted for that. I was charged over $350. A puppy that weighed around 5 pounds. **But Here's where it gets inexcusable and downright mean. Our primary vet called them, the vet spoke with them. Yet they somehow had our puppies ashes sent to a vet an over an hour away from us. A completely different vet. We drove there to get him of course. Fast forward a few months later, I unfortunately lose my Boxer to old age. The first thing I do is call fond memories to get him cremated.. I find out they price it by weight. I paid LESS. for my 60+ pound Boxer to be cremated and received extra momentums. They charged us an outrageous amount, and didn't even double check where the ashes were being sent to. This place is awful. No professionalism, no compassion. Money driven. It's sad. read more

The price gouging at this place is unreal. The only reason I took my dog here is because it was Sunday and no vet was open. After being told my dog needed surgery I left. I was told it would be $7000. On top of the $900 I had to pay for just bringing her in. I chose to take her home and call her regular vet. I had the surgery done for $2000. What a difference! I think they get a big head because the word "ER". It's actually more expensive to go here than it is taking myself to a ER. I took one of my other dogs here 3 years ago and had to pay $6000. and they misdiagnosed her. Next time I will go somewhere else. read more

My dog took a turn for the worst on Friday night. I called her veterinarian but they were closed and the answering service recommended that we call BluePearl. I explained to them that my dog was dying. They showed no mercy by telling me that if I brought her that I had to pay 195.00 up front when I entered the door. Afterwards, it could be as high as 6,000 up front, if needed. I explained to her that I didn't have that much money. In no uncertain terms, she suggested tat I NOT bring my dog. I was so helpless. Thankful for Dr. Ficklin! When our puppy, Mylo injured his leg while playing in the back yard we rushed to the closest ER to get him check out. They told us both bones in his front leg were broken & because there was no internal stability our puppy would need his leg amputated. This was devastating for us. 8am the next morning we took Mylo to his normal vet where we were given hope of a full recovery - if he had surgery. We called the list of specialist and couldn't find someone who could see him within a week or even two, as it was now considered a non emergency case. Luckily, we were able to take Mylo to Blue Pearl in spring and the surgeon (Dr. Mike Ficklin) was absolutely amazing! He said he didn't want to wait until Monday for Mylo to get surgery (as his puppy bones heal quickly) and offered to work him in. This totally meant the world to us as Mylo was in a lot of pain with even the slightest movement. Everyone we encountered was kind and compassionate. They truly made us feel he was being cared for in the best possible way. I was worried about not being by his side due to covid safety measure causing separation anxiety (mine more than his), but I felt the staff cared for Mylo just as much as I did. Thank you again for guiding us during this stressful time & helping us unsure Mylo had the best road to recovery. I truly appreciate the patience with all of my calls and follow ups. read more

Took my dog, and they're in an emergency last Saturday, the staff and veterinarian were on point, and did all of the necessary tests and dispensed medication for my dog. After not hearing from my primary care vet for follow-ups, I called today to hopefully get the prescription refilled after having paid $1466.25 for my dogs care. The answer is no, unless I want to bring my dog in and spend another large amount to have them re-examined so that they could refill the prescription. That is completely unacceptable, very disappointing, they should refill the prescriptions without having to re-examine my dog for another $1466.25. Well, I go back? Yes, if my dog has an emergency because they are the only emergency room around. Do I think that it's fair to not refill a prescription? No I do not. read more

Very good experience. Took my dog in after he ate a dryer sheet and the staff seemed very concerned and willing to help. It was late at night so the vet wouldn't be there for a few hours but the vet tech was able to see our dog and she took very good care of him. She was respectful and knowledgeable. I usually have gone to Gulf Coast since I used to live closer, but had to come here recently. I was debating if I should drive farther to go to Gulf Coast because of some of the negative reviews. But I was so impressed with everyone from the person who answered the phone when I called to the Dr. Everyone seem very concerned and let me know of my options. The fact that they tell you about your options and the price is just like any other vet. They don't want to start with any procedures before your approval if you don't want to. My wife and I had a great experience at Blue Pearl on Wednesday night, 2/2/22 when we rushed our Chihuahua (Rocky) to the E/R. The staff was very friendly upon our arrival at Blue Pearl (Spring TX). Dr. M. Rumbaugh attended to Rocky and assisted us during this horrible emergency. Dr. Rumbaugh provided world class service and is an exceptional veterinarian! I am so delighted that my wife and I received excellent service for Rocky. Rocky suffered a seizure in my arms while at home. We rushed him to Blue Pearl E/R. He was bleeding internally with very low oxygen levels. Our boy was 12.2 years old and had lived a fabulous life! I'm delighted God allowed us to rescue and care for Rocky. We made a tough, yet unselfish decision to have Rocky euthanized to alleviate and prevent any further pain that was inevitable. Dr. Rumbaugh assisted us in this process which was done very professionally and with the utmost care, and dignity. We remained with Rocky during this entire process....consoling him and helping him transition peacefully through this gentle process. We made the right choice for our boy. We are grateful for the professionalism of Dr. Rumbaugh and the attentiveness of the entire Blue Pearl staff in Spring TX. read more

My dog was having serious issues and I thought that it was an emergency to bring her in to be seen. it was my first time ever to an animal hospital. The staff were very nice very courteous and very friendly . The doctor explained to me the diagnosis of my pet and explained to me the things that should be done.they gave her an antibiotic and also provided me with some antibiotics to take home and care for her. The next day my pet was almost back to normal and back to her regular self. I don't know what I would have done or what would have happened if I never came to this clinic. Everyone was so nice and really cared a lot about my situation and was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions in a professional manner. It's actually a minus 10 rating in my book. Took a pregnant dog there Sunday night as she had a black discharge. Called first and they said bring her in. Get there and after getting payment info they say they'd have to call in a vet. Not thrilled but okay. And then they tell us that this type of discharge is normal and to take the dog home. Saner minds prevailed and she was taken to a different emergency clinic where our fears were confirmed. The puppies were dead and she was in severe distress. Emergency C-section to remove the puppies and clean this girl up. Had she not been treated she could have easily died from infection/sepsis. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone that truly loves their pets! read more

Follow up: 2/22/2019: to your response, my husbands name is on the account so you would have no record of me in 2018. This was my first visit to Blue Pearl. I do not dispute that your company was compassionate, I am indicating that I felt pressured to take extreme and very expensive measures for a dog that needed crate rest. __ I've waited a month before I made this review. The staff was very nice and I really did not have to wait long. My issue is not with their efficiency, my issue is with the doctor telling me that we either need a $3,000 MRI which would result in needing a $7,000 surgery or we needed to put my dog down immediately. The told me she was paralyzed and would never walk again. No tests were run. I decided that I would take my dog home so we could say goodbye, but that evening we decided to get a second opinion the very next day and took our dog to Texas A&M. Not only was the diagnosis Blue Pearl made very wrong, but my dog has almost fully recovered after no medication and a month of crate rest. Don't be pressured by this vet to pay an astronomical fee and make rash decisions under pressure. I will tell everyone I know, do not take your beloved animal here. read more

My dog was severely hurt and they were the only ones open at the time. I brought him to them with several injuries including one of his eyes popped out of the socket. They charged several hundred dollars just to look at him, give him a pain shot, shave & wipe his wounds & put a cone around his neck. But because I couldn't afford the almost $1700 they wouldn't do ANYTHING with his eye. They don't care about the animals. They only care about the money. They charge an outrageous amount for medications & when I asked if his meds could be filled at a pharmacy instead, they wouldn't reverse those because I opened that front door and walked outside! I NEVER left the premises or even left sight of the front because we were waiting for our ride!!!! PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!! read more
