I absolutely love this place! The girls are so sweet and helpful! I have always bounced around with my skincare line, never finding anything that worked for me. Poor service, first they mad me an appointment for 1 pm​ then called me back an hour before my ​appointment to say that they can't​ do it until 2 pm,​ok that was strike one. When I got there, the employees looked at me and didn't​ even ask me if I needed help. I had to tell them that I have a facial appointment. Then they had me standing in the middle of the store waiting for the lady to come back from lunch. I ask can I sit in the one chair that is in the so call spa area that looked like I was at the nail shop getting my eyebrows done. This place shouldn't​ even call this place a spa. She said she is not sure like what the​ heck am I suppose to stand in the middle of the store waiting? When the lady came, she said do you want a robe or do you want to stay how you are. I should of know then that there was not going to be a message. So I had filled out the facial card the esthetician didn't​ even ask me for the card so how is she suppose to know what I wanted? The worst​ facial I have ever had. She didn't​ also do my neck or chest. No extractions really, I was so angry she put so much crap on my face that my​ eyes had a lot of crap in it I could barely see. They asked me if I liked the service I told them, ​no but you think they cared no. I am so mad that I paid for this service. Do not go there because you would be disappointed. I went there because I love Bluemercury products, but this place makes this company look bad. Poor service and when you do get their attention they don't have any product knowledge. Trained to redirect you from name brand products to their own Lune & aster. If you know what you want, you are ok. But if you need any recommendations, don't bother. I LOVE this store. I am like a kid in a candy store every time I go in. The product displays are amazing. The staff is always super helpful and kind (esp Pam). They are not over bearing but are happy to help you. Easy check out and always incredible samples. Maria does my facials and she is a doll. Always sweet and down to earth. I used to love that I could talk to the manager, Maria, and get her expert opinion of new products to try. She used to do my facials and her recommendations were always perfect for me. She even made great gifts recommendations since she had listened about my family. Since she became manager though, she avoids customers, avoids eye contact or leaves for the back room when people walk in. There's a never ending stream of new employees up front in the shop though (what's up with that?). The service is uneven. No one knows my skin and I can't get accurate new recommendations. I switched to Zo products, did a personalize skin profile online and received recommendations. At least I can call them and get personalized help and advice based on my skin needs. And they always refer back to my skin profile and "know" my skills n needs. It's amazing how one simple business practice (pay attention to your customers) can completely change a customer's experience in a store. It's sad because post-Covid, many shops in the forum closed or struggled to re-open. I would think this would be the time when they most would want to serve their customers. Especially as we see so many brick and mortar stores struggling to close the gap between in store and online purchases. read more

My mother and I went into the store today to buy the NARS liquid blush since it was sold out online at Nordstrom and we didn't feel like driving to UTC. We were immediately greeted by Anastasia one of the sales women and she was honestly one of the nicest people I have ever met at any store in the Forum shopping center. We ended up spending $200+when we went in to buy one thing. She was so down to earth, not pushy, and helpful. She recommended my two products for my problem skin that she said she had tried herself, which worked wonderfully for her. Needless to say I bought the product and my mother bought a few of Anastasia's recommendations as well. No need to shop for my favorite high-end makeup online anymore, will be going back to Bluemercury! Love!!! read more

The store is beautiful and well organized, and stocks many wonderful products. I have shopped there periodically over 3 years. I think they know their stuff and are able to recommend suitable products. I am usually greeted but once recently I was ignored - it was around noon and there was a sign on the door saying there were "other customers" in the store and the door was locked. I looked in - and there was nobody in the store except for one sales person who saw me at the door and ignored me. Further to my disappointment, I have found the same issues over and over. It never gets any better. Too often there is insufficient staff and I am left standing and waiting for too long. Standing waiting for 10 - 15 minutes to ask a quick question, get advice or simply check out is not acceptable. Also, there have been several occasions when I found a product on display - and then was told it was "out of stock". Why are they putting a product on display that they don't have? Or, the popular product I regularly use was "out of stock". A couple of times they offered to order the product for me - and I never heard back from them afterwards. This gets really frustrating and just sends me to another beauty supplier to get the product I need. My guess is that people don't get great service here and shop elsewhere - and probably the shop is struggling to meet their financial targets - hence they have cut down on staff - and as a result - people keep leaving and shopping elsewhere. Seriously - your customer and your products are "high end" - and the product stocking and customer service also need to be "high end". Whoever is responsible for managing this store needs to do a much better job. This store needs a fundamental review of the business to identify and resolve the problems. Oh and by the way, the rewards programs suck too. At the moment I am keying in my "gift card" and know that I am keying EXACTLY the right numbers, and the system won't accept it - so I will have to trek in to the store to sort it out. Service: Average: Can be hit or miss. Really depends on who is working. I have had excellent service in the past, but during my last visit the employee wouldn't even help me pick a shade of foundation. The personal service is really the only reason why I would go to a shop rather than buy online. I do appreciate that they are not "pushy" about buying their products. Overall: A great option if you don't like to shop at large department stores or are avoiding the mall. Do your research on the product you want first since not all of the staff are as knowledgeable/helpful. read more

Do yourself a favor and do not shop in this store. A couple of days ago I purchased a soft eye pencil at Bluemercury. I had been in a serious car accident and my husband took me in to purchase a gift for me. As soon as I opened the pencil container, the whole end of the pencil broke off. When I went to return it, the girl insisted she just "sharpen it for me." When she went to sharpen it, the whole end of the pencil fell apart an got mushy. She said, "I see what you mean." She was just about to give me a new one but could not find my phone number in their system then explained she, "therefore I could not return it." I knew she even remembered me because I was wearing a large cervical collar. It was not really that easy for me to even get to the store, let alone be refused a return. I absolutely love this place!! Everyone is so nice and it seems they are all genuinely happy to be there. The esthetician I saw was Kristin and she was awesome! She recommended I do something called a Crystal Facial, which is a series of 6 microdermabrasion treatments. I have done only two so far and I'm loving my skin already!! Ok... so... is it just me or is it as soon as you walk into this store or MAC you're instantly being judged? I waked into this store and a gal who works there asked if I needed help. I was looking at La Mer. I said no I'm ok I'm just looking for new tinted moisturizer and cream. She said " oh well, this is expensive try over here". Now now. I looked at her and said ... I'm not sure what that means, but I use La Met already and I'm looking to try some other products. I bet I could tell you 15 facts that this girl had no clue about from La Mer, but I was so furious that I immediately put down the mascara I had grabbed and left. I went into the car with my fiancé and started crying. I'd like to know exactly what " money" looks like because I could have bought all the LA MER I wanted to, but instead I was judged because I didn't look like I could afford it. Now I'm forced to drive all the way to Nordstrom because I will never ever buy from here again. I also had multiple girlfriends who no longer shop here. I suggest reviewing your employee handbook for what's right and wrong or maybe take an ethics class. read more

I went to Blue Mercury in the Forum this afternoon with my daughter, she flew in from NY for a work event and forgot her makeup bag, which constituted a makeup emergency. There was NO WAY we were going to Ulta after my poor experiences there, and a local shop that carried Bobbie Brown was needed, which led us to Blue Mercury. We were hot, tired, and looked the way we felt, but decided to give it a go anyway and are so glad that we did. Maria spent a tremendous amount of time color matching and coordinating a wonderful makeup wardrobe for my daughter. Xochi (I hope that's how to spell her name) assisted me w/the fragrances and provided samples for me to try at home in order to ensure they could be a good fit. There was no pressure to purchase, I was offered a cold beverage and a seat since we were there for a long time, the personal one on one customer service could not have been matched, even at Nordstrom. The store is lovely, the facilities pristine, and the staff were personable, knowledgeable, and responsive. The days of trying to flag down a salesperson for help at Ulta are gone, Blue Mercury, with huge kudos to Maria, exemplifies customer service the way it should be. read more

I recently moved to the Carlsbad area and was pleasantly surprised to find this lovely beauty & spa store in the forum shops! They offer spa treatments as well as a wide selection of luxury skincare, makeup and hair care products. They carry department store brands such as Laura Mercier, Trish McEvoy, Hourglass Cosmetics, NARS, and Bobbi Brown. I almost forgot; they do carry some nail care and lovely candles too! Just like other reviewer mentioned I was invisible to them the whole time I was there. I've been buying products online for years but today I needed an Oribe hair spray right away rather than ordering it online & waiting to be delivered. Also I just got done eating at urban plates anyways. Upon entering the store 2 staff were busy chatting with each other which they didn't bother to even look at me. One at the cashier was with a customer, one was applying makeup on a customer, but the other staff was standing there doing nothing. I knew exactly which product I wanted so I didnt need anyone's help but no one said hello or anything to greet me. I walked over to Oribe section & grabbed the hair spray & walked over to the cashier. Still no greeting like say hello she rung me up it was $45 and some change, she asked me if I wanted a bag and I told her no thanks. After transaction was done she still didnt say anything like "thank you". I will not go back to the store in C'bad forum. I will continue shopping online store. read more

So I stopped in to Bluemercury a little while ago. I've been interested in picking up some great quality products for my face. Creams, washes, etc. Thing is, I don't really know what products are best. I was greeted by Lauren, she was so friendly and understanding. Normally I'm too nervous to ask for help. Iv loved this store since I started going! It's really a one stop shop and I don't need to go to a million different crowded department stores to find each product! It's all here!!! I started getting slightly overwhelmed ( because naturally I wanted everything) I met Sarah the esthetician and decided to go for a facial and get the recommendation from someone who knows skin. I'm totally hooked!!! Sarah is so knowledgable and simplified my daily regime with certain products that would benefit my skin the most! I totally trust her! She's the sweetest and knows her stuff! Iv been getting monthly facials and can totally see my skin changing fast!!!!! I suffer from mild acne and pigmentation spots. Honestly my skin has done a 180.
