Fantastic ice cream. Cakes and cones all homemade. Owner is an eccentric - she needs to take everything out of the shoppe, throw 60% of the junk out, do a deep cleaning and reopen. Place should be a landmark - needs attention. The chocolate was exceptional. read more

Great local homemade ice cream! Must go if you're in the area! Cakes are amazing too... read more

This little ice cream shop is the stuff of dreams! We're talking good ol' fashioned, delicious, homemade ice cream and waffle cones, made with love by one woman, with such fresh ingredients. Love the Dutch Cookie Delight (the speculoos flavor), the Decadence (coffee with bits of brownie), and the Grasshopper (mint ice cream with chocolate chips). Everything is refreshing and even clean tasting, since nothing is artificial. In fact, the waffle cones are so fresh here, that they fold as you get to the bottom of the cone. So crispy and light. Can't wait to come back this summer. 5 stars!!!! read more

Bluebird Ice Cream - two scoops of ice cream in a waffle cone - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Cross River, New York

The owner is just as delightful as her homemade fresh ice creams and baked goods ! Don't miss this super cute ice cream shop , You will be glad you went . read more

While the ice cream was good and there was a great variety, it was really expensive. $35 for four scoops of ice cream and a slice of pie makes this a place for a rare treat. read more

Truly delicious ice cream! A lot of places claim to have homemade ice cream but you can tell this is the real deal and made with great quality ingredients. So many yummy flavors to choose from and homemade waffle cones. The owner is very friendly and helpful too! read more

You can never go wrong with ice cream, especially when it's homemade. But it is Cash only which is kind of a pain but worth it. And right now the owner is doing "curbside" so you order at the door and wait for it and you can eat outside with it. The Ice cream is delicious though. And the owner is so kind and a great ice cream maker! read more

Way over priced and service is extremely slow. We were the only ones in there and it took forever. $5.50 for one school of ice cream is sinful and so is $14.00 for a milkshake. Glad we crossed it off our list of places to try but we won't be back. read more

Dirty. $30 for two cups of ice cream that we didn't eat because it all seemed so unsanitary. And took about 20 minutes. Won't ever go back.

Delicious ice cream that is worth every penny. Had almond macaroon and my daughter had grasshopper. will be sure to return.

The ice cream is above average, but we paid $12 for a cone with 2 scoops. No clue why this shop charges ~50% more than other ice cream spots, sheesh. read more

Previous reviews are spot on... First off - CASH ONLY. Ughhhh. 5 stars for the ice cream - it is SO good. The owner makes it all herself. We asked questions about all the flavors, etc. A lot of the flavors have pieces of cookie or something in them. My daughter got chocolate pudding. My husband and I each got a scoop of lemon cookie and he got a scoop of the Stout and I got a scoop of the Almond Macaroon. All delicious! The Stumptown coffee came home as a pint (the coffee bean pieces - YUM). 3 stars for the prices - it is not cheap. A pint to take home is $12. Single scoop cones are $4-something. If you want to split your single scoop into two flavors, there's an additional $1-something charge. There's a charge for every additional scoop too. We got 3 cones (1 1 scoop in a dish, 2 2 scoops in waffle cones because that was the only option) and a pint to take home for $36, I believe. Minus the pint it was $24 for 3 cones? If all you have is waffle cones, you shouldn't be charging for them since I don't have a choice... Other random comments: I wish the inside decor was a bit better. There's just STUFF all over. Maybe because it's near a high school? But books, games, tchotchke toys, a black board to write on etc. We had to ask for napkins. There should be dispensers out in an ice cream shop. There are also baked goods available but I didn't have any so can't speak to those. I just felt like it's a mixed place - it's ice cream but also baked goods, coffee drinks, merchandise (clothing, mugs) etc. All in all I like to support small businesses and it is the only one of it's type in the area. read more

Have been a few times and won't be back. The vegan mint chip ice cream did not have "chips" or chocolate flakes throughout, very icy in consistency. Asked for sprinkles during one trip and maybe got one teaspoon- when asked for more (the jar being right in front of her) the owner got upset/flustered and said we would have to wait until after the group behind us ordered and were served. Extremely slow service and very over priced- I am in this industry and very much appreciate her dedication to making everything by hand and sourcing of ingredients but the ice cream/service does not live up to the price. We ordered half a cake once and it was nearly $50, also not worth the price. I love to support local and gave it a few tries but overall disappointing. read more

I have to say I've had better. $7 for 2 scoops and a dollar extra for a cone ? Others seem ok with slow service (after reading other reviews, seems it's a one woman operation) and high prices , I wish her the best but I wont be back. read more

Mixed review. 5 stars for the ice cream, it is very good and not sugary. 2 stars become you have to place your order at the door and because 2 scoops of ice cream are not worth $11! read more

The best ice cream and the owner is so lovely. The price is a bit steep but worth it knowing that she makes everything there. Happy to support a small business for the quality. read more

As a couple other savvy Yelpers noted, this spot is prohibitively expensive. The ice cream is alright, but it is not of some superior quality. And the real sad part of what goes on here, is the portions that they serve are very SMALL ! What they serve as "2 scoops" would be classified as 1 scoop at 90% of other ice cream joints. And what they serve as "1 scoop" would simply not be served by ANY other ice cream establishment. This 1 scoop portion which cost about $4 was about 2 spoon fulls. It pains me to think back to the warnings that I previously read on Yelp. Well, here is another one, you are far better off picking up a pint of Ben n Jerrys. read more

Hurry, run, rush to this humble little ice cream parlor before the lines of flavor-lovers grows too long to navigate. This is seriously good ice cream, among the best, and really worth a few extra cents. Great flavors, home made ingredients, Stumptown coffee, what's not to love. read more

Bluebird Ice Cream - bluebird ice cream - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Cross River, New York

Very delicious homemade ice cream! That's not all, they offer lovely cakes, cookies, and desserts! Best ice cream! Barbara is wonderful!

Best ice cream I've had in Westchester County. I especially like the Stumptown coffee flavor. Cute decor (lots of bluebirds, of course), family-friendly, very much a neighborhood gem. The service (often just a one-woman operation) is super-friendly and charmingly unhurried, but the ice cream is worth the wait -- and the price. read more

I was super excited to try this place, learning that all Of the ice cream is homemade. However, it was RIDICULOUSLY overpriced. I think for a couple cones and a shake we spent $40!!! The ice cream was "ok" pretty bland. What turned me off the most is we got a slice of cake (that looked delicious) the cake was DRY, STALE and old and she charged us An arm and a leg for the tiniest sliver. I mean after spending $40 on ice cream and knowing your cake was old and stale you could've given a bigger piece! Will not be returning and I'm shocked they remain in business. Nice concept, homemade ice cream is great, but the prices should be more reasonable. read more

I was very excited after a long hike to find Bluebird Ice Cream shop. We should have run out as soon as we walked in as it was stifling hot inside. That should have been a sign. We asked to taste a flavor, only to be told that they did not have enough spoons. Really??? The person behind the counter (I'm assuming was the owner )was not friendly whatsoever!! Not the happy ice cream shop experience we were looking for, very disappointing, overpriced and not tasty at all!! Never will I step inside this place again!!! sorry King Kone for being disloyal!!!! Would give it 0 stars if I were able to!!! read more

This is a great small artisanal ice-cream place with home-made ice-cream from hormone-free milk without any artificial flavours/colour. The women who served me (the owner?) was very friendly. I recommend their coffee flavour. Other people here on yelp complained about the size of the portions. Ignore them. The sizes are perfect. And the quality is worth the price. read more

The tastiest ice cream I've had, since I was a child in Sweden. Visited this afternoon with Lewisboro Baseball's Green team. My 12 year old grandson loved the homebaked waffle cone and we can't wait to go back. read more

An imaginative ice cream specialist in an odd location. Short on atmosphere and long on flavor. Nice balance and not too sweet. Plenty of fun flavors for kids but adults looking for a good desert will be happy too. Don't go here if Carvel is your jam. read more

Insanely expensive just ok ice cream served in a hot and generally uncomfortable environment. We deserve more.

We think your ice cream is awesome and so are the cones However, $16.00 for a 2 scoop ice cream and a 3 scoop ice cream is offensive and disturbing! A business tip: Lower your ridiculous prices! Then we'll come back! Please take our advice! read more

This is the best ice cream I've ever had. It's worth the price and the wait. Coupled with the sugar cones, it's *chef's kiss.*

The ice cream is creamy, rich and delicious! The flavors are unique. Stump town coffee tastes like a creamy cup of iced coffee! Barbara, the owner, is a tireless one-woman operation. She makes the ice cream and the waffle cones and provides wonderful service. My foodie friend and I drove 40 minutes to try this ice cream and it was worth the trip. The only problem is the price: $7.00 for 2 scoops. The only reason I rated this 4 stars was because of the price. If her prices become more competitive she'll have to hire more staff to serve her fans. read more

Really delicious ice cream tried Chocolate Hazelnut and Salted Caramel, AND enjoyed a nice cappuccino. I liked it so much I bought the beans. The quality is worth the price, and we may have to play a little more to be able to grab a few scoops in our own town. Helpful and cheery barrista even late on a Sunday. read more

First time at this shop. Ice cream is mediocre at best, very little for the money. I"m used to ice cream from a creamery in Connecticut: Ferris Acres - The Best. Now that is very good ice cream!!!!!! Bluebird in the other hand not so much. Their ice cream taste like store bought and the selection very limited. Too expensive for the amount and quality. Not worth the price. I wish I had read the yelp reviews before I went there. Not coming back!!!! read more

This place is awesome. I can't remember eating better ice cream and its worth every cent. Would happily pay double.

Absolutely delicious! Great service! Amazing coffee! Whenever I have a hankering for a good cup of coffee or need a little sweet pick me up this is my place! read more

We just moved to the area and went to Bluebird with my nieces and nephew. It was amazing ice cream and you can easily tell that it is homemade. We had the pistachio and it was absolutwly delicious. We look forward to going back during this hot summer. read more

A delicious find in westchester!! Not only does it taste amazing but it is healthy & hand made too. It's definitely on the expensive side but you know you're getting fresh ice cream that you can feel good about. Will be back! read more

Great homemade ice cream, one of my favorite vanilla's ever. The coffee ice cream is great and they use Stumptown coffee. Great coffee when it's too cold out for ice cream. read more

Ice cream is decent, prices are out of line, but my main complaint is the stuffy air inside the place. Owner has A/C but does not believe in it, and there's no cross ventilation. Not fun to eat ice cream in such an airless atmosphere. read more

Awful ice cream! The person who works here is rude and the ice cream portions are too small! The ice cream itself is basically made with okay toppings but a way too basic ice cream selection! I will never be coming back!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

My husband and I have been taste-testing homemade ice cream shops around Westchester this summer. the best is Bluebird. the ice cream is creamy, rich and true to the flavor. Our favorites are vanilla and stumptown coffee. We even bring a cooler to take home pints. We previously thought Arethusa dairy was the best ice cream around, but we now think Bluebird is the best read more
