Had a craving for a Nutella strawberry banana crepe so we ventured out on a snow day for lunch. Sonia, our server, is a delight. The food was top notch as always, definitely need to come here more often!

Amazing. Idk how…read moreI've never tried this place before but ordered from here last night for a little post dinner "snack". We ordered two sweet and one savory crepe as our "snack" after dinner lmao. Veggie crepe: love the vegetarian options. I also love how customizable it is. We didn't want the onions and mushrooms and were able to take those out in our order. This was amazing, gruyere was a really good choice of cheese here. Romeo and Juliet: vanilla cream, sliced bananas, strawberries, chocolate sauce, chantilly cream. Also very good, you can't go wrong with this combo. I do wish the bananas were actually sliced horizontally rather than vertically because it is hard to consume that large of a banana in a bite. I suppose I could cut it but don't give me more work to do. Chocolate brownie: holy shit this is genius. I don't recall there being dulche de leche drizzle like it says in the menu but basically it's a crepe with a fucking brownie on it and vanilla ice cream. Incredible. And I wonder why my weight went up on the scale today. Definitely need to order from here again when I'm feeling naughty.

Cleanliness. It's a nice space, and clean. I used the restroom as well. Certainly looks like they take the time out to keep the place presentable which is not something all restaurants do so it should be noted when you see it. Minuses: Noise: The architecture of the space with its high ceilings is such that it's very loud. This is not the kind of place you go for a quiet meal. It wasn't that every table was occupied when I was there but the noise level was quite high. Honestly, it depends on your preference. It's not a matter of it being bad so much as warning you in advance. Prices: The food was okay. I had an omelet. It was adequate, nothing more. The thing of it was that it was a $20 dollar omelet. In that case I expect them to bring out the hen and show me its pedigree. The food was good, not great, not bad, simply good. I can't really say anything other than that. Given that it's Katonah it may be that it caters to a clientele that doesn't have a problem with that but again, it's not a bargain. Overall, I enjoyed the meal enough but I likely wouldn't go back simple based around the price point.

OSecond visit to The Whitlock in Katonah, and I'm officially a believer. I just love this place --…read morethe feel, the staff, the food. It all clicks. This time was a more casual lunch with friends, and the menu is basically bulletproof for any dietary need. You can go clean and delicious, or you can go indulgent and joyful. Either way, you win. The staff? Fantastic. The vibe? Even better. My first visit was a business dinner -- polished, comfortable, and impressive. My second was a relaxed catch‑up lunch -- still perfect. That kind of consistency is rare. Come in jeans. Come in a suit. You're exactly as you're meant to be the moment you walk through the door.

It's a nice space with the right kind of lighting, but the bar music was a bit too loud for easy conversation. The main courses left a lot to be desired. I don't think any of us (a party of +6) had a really good main course. The Thai vegetable curry was embarrasingly terrible. Stodgy, overwhelming garlic, slop on a plate. Chickpeas and unidentifiable bits of veg with tomato sauce and gloopy rice. So bad, and no thai flavor at all. At least make a decent thai red curry sauce. Or use coconut milk and lemongrass or something that isn't just garlic mush. The fish dish was literally just a piece of fish with a bit of sauce and a curlicue of something. Nothing to go with it. The chorizo shrimp burger tasted okay and had a lot of food on the plate, but my husband said it fell apart as he ate it. I think the Whitlock needs to do better than this. It's not a budget restaurant. I expect better food than what I can make at home.
