    Fantastic b&b

Wonderful. Incredibly friendly, beautiful new building, highest recommendation. We've stayed in the inn and the cottage, both are terrific. One of our favorite inns anywhere in the US. Breakfast is amazing, surpassed only by Debbie's desserts. The new game room is a nice plus, especially with a brand new ping pong table. The cottage sleeps 5 comfortably and offers rustic privacy. Truly a great place.

Having heard several positive reports on the B&B and how terrific their breakfast is we decided to try for dinner and so happy we did. The service was ex. and the meal outstanding with very good salad/dressing, ex. chicken cordon Blu and scallops to melt in you mouth. The desserts were perfect - one had cheesecake and one had Blueberry pie with ice cream...both yummy. We will go back.

We had a very nice experience at this place. Every thing is prefect. I am sure I ganna go back sometime. Thank U

We had dinner in the barn to celebrate a birthday. First course was a baked Brie in a pastry shell topped with blueberries and fresh apple slices - I could have eaten just that all night it was so good. Second course was a kale salad with feta and cranberries and a light vinaigrette - not my personal taste but it wasn't bad, and the kale lovers at the table said it was fantastic. Main course was a stuffed pork chop with dill potatoes and a butternut squash with brown sugar pecan topping. Everything was amazing. Thinking about it now my mouth is salivating. The gift shop had local handmade items that I couldn't help but load up on for gifts for my family and friends. I can't wait to go back. We were there from 5-9ish and time flew by. Highly recommend!

George and Matt make you feel less like a guest and more like an old friend who's come to visit. Our spirits were buoyed by owners, Shari & Paul Cunningham, whose wonderful property includes a view of the harbor in Round Pond, perennial gardens, old stone walls, and adjacent forests. We were made to feel right at home in the restored historic (1700's era) farmhouse, with its common rooms for reading, visiting, dining, and relaxing downstairs, as well as its five beautifully decorated guest bedrooms upstairs. Shari is an outstanding cook, serving hearty, nutritious, artfully presented breakfasts every morning. She incorporates fresh eggs from her flock of lively hens whose happy clucking can be heard throughout the day. We look forward to our next trip when we can once again savor the scrumptious frittatas, homemade blueberry muffins, blueberry pancakes, and delicious fruit cups at the dining room's table that looks over the sloping backyard fields and the ocean beyond. Shari was willing to accommodate our request for specific dietary needs. At the top of your "Midcoast Maine Must Do" list should be a stay with Shari and Paul at The Chamberlain House.

Excellent! We enjoyed a DELICIOUS dinner on the patio here,…read moretonight. We were a party of three, seated promptly for our reservation. The Inn/restaurant has new owners from SF. They have brought a remarkable vision to an otherwise pretty ordinary dining experience at this historic 1793 inn in charming Deer Isle (we know bc we dined here last year, too). For this their first year their executive chef Courtney Burns has done something really innovative: she's brought in a summer of guest chefs, each who serves for a month or so, during which they prepare a menu reflecting their unique vision, drawing from the bounty of local and regional Maine small batch artisanal ingredients. This is brilliant: a rotation of innovative chefs each with their own vision. So long as the quality remains high, then one can return to dine at the same place but with a different menu several times over any given season. We were lucky to have meals designed by chef Andre Garza, from Houston. I had the short ribs. They were delicious, cooked for 72 hours, very tender, served on a bed of slightly sweet carrot puree, and then topped with spray of arugula and a swirl of some very delicately infused oil, infused with just the faintest scent of a smoky pepper - not sure if it was chipotle or exactly what. I was a little concerned that the pepper influence might overwhelm the short ribs, but I was impressed with what was delivered. It was perfect. Whatever the specific pepper and technique he used was, he used it delicately and in such a way as to marry the umami experience of the short ribs against the sweet carrot puree and the slightly bitter arugula. It was actually very, very, VERY good and a lesser chef might have turned it into some tex mex experience, which I was not interested in on this occasion. The kitchen hit a home run with this. Others in the party had the baked halibut, served atop creamy grits, with a smoked fish sauce; and another had the the lobster toast and scallops in some citrus broth (two appetizers, as an entree). Everyone was very happy with their meals. Remarkable. I'd put this meal up against any great contemporary restaurant here or anywhere. We shared 2 desserts: a blueberry "crumble", more like a blueberry applesauce consistency, with thyme flower crumble on it (nice touch); and a very soft cheese with a dollop of dolce de leche next to it.. Both were really great, and together they were sublime. We're thrilled that the new team has taken the reins and will look forward for trying out the other guest chefs' creations over the course of the summer.
