I want my Lunch Specials!! I placed my order for the Halibut Wrap/fries with pop ($7.95) at 12 pm or so on a Wednesday and the nice waitress inform me they were sold out! At 12 pm??? Since I really want to have some deep fried oily fish for lunch so I stuck with ordering Halibut with chips ($10.95) - The fish though small but was nicely done.. lightly breaded and deep fried to light golden brown. The fish itself was moist and fresh - I will skip the fries next time... nothing really specials.. 50 cents extra for tartar sauce? that little tiny thing cost 50 cents? I think with the prices they charging they should just give the extra sauce for free! Waitress was nice and efficient but can be a little pushy? She reminds me of someone's mother.. and I was told to be a good girl and finish all my food... :)

This guy is an asshole. Avoid his shop.
    Miss Lady ..

This guy was a major asshole and this place serves overpriced, tasteless cafeteria food with bad hygiene. The place was not busy and when I asked if I had the number right because I called FOUR times and got no answer, he just rudely said they were too busy (though there were like just 3 people inside the place already eating). He said, " if people call unknown name unknown number, I don't even answer. If they wanna hide and don't want to let me know who they are then I don't want to talk to them!!" Like wtf. Grow the fuck up. These are your customers you douchebag. When I told him that my number is not hidden, he just interrupted me and repeated himself. He was cleaning the counters with a dirty rag and then touched my food. Didnt even offer ketchup or salt or anything for my takeout. Didnt smile once. Fish was dry and stringy, fries were were bitter and starchy. $18.00 for this shit? No way!!!

FAVOURITE family resto in Markham. Authentic, fresh & the best fish and chips within the area. Family owned- this resto has the best service. I've been coming here for years with my family and the owners always remember us and sitting inside you'll realize they remember all their customers new and old. They also have the BEST home made Greek salad dressing that my entire family is obsessed with. The servings are quite large & the fish is always cooked to perfection. Fries are also very crispy & house cut fresh. Absolutely recommend trying their Greek food, the best in Markham. The Greek food plates Are also quite large, enough to share. Service is always consistent take out or dine in. DEFINITELY worth the try! I have yet to be disappointed here with food or service

    Halibut, Haddock, caesar salad, fries

They are open for dine-in right now, but called for takeout and ate at home- order took about ten minutes, pretty fast. We got the halibut and caesar salad, and haddock with fries. Haddock was good, batter and texture, and fries were better than Halibut House's fries, although I'm not the biggest fan of fat fries in general. The halibut was quite heavy and dry, not worth the price. The salad was alright, a bit too much dressing for my liking and could've used more croutons. Having been here for ages, I figured it was time to finally have bluenose fish & chips and it's definitely a decent option. Without a doubt the fish and chips are good here, but the execution could have been a tad better. We had takeout and I'm not sure if this had anything to do with the soggier than expected fish batter but it was still pretty good. I really enjoyed the haddock they have here, it's super flakey and it's fresh. Nothing beats good quality fish and they have that here at bluenose. I'd say the fish had a moderate amount of oil without being overly oily. And I wish they would have gave more of their homemade tartar sauce. I think we asked for more tartar sauce and was given packets of them as opposed to the store made stuff. The fries were also excellent, they were thick cut and fried to perfection. The only downside was that there were too many short crispy strands, more than a quarter of the fries were like this.

This was the main course salad from Blue nose from fish and chips!

I have been a long time customer here but not anymore. I went to grab a lunch salad with fish (total $18 and change) to go. When I came home and opened the bag it was a tiny little side salad. So I thought there was a mistake and called the restaurant to see in case I might have gotten someone else's food. The owner Nick picked up the phone and let me tell you, he is one awful human being. I asked him if the $18 salad was supposed to be a side salad and he went into a ramble of him being there for 25 years and if they deceived me and asked if they stole my money or what the problem was. I tried to explain that I was kinda hoping for a salad to be a meal size and not a "sampler" size. He continued to be rude and obnoxious and when I told him his attitude was inappropriate he hung up. This place used to be so good but ever since the other place opened across the street people have been leaving them left right and centre. The quality of food has gone down the drain (the owner should go the same way)... too bad!! As for the quality of the meal. The fish was well seasoned (grilled) the salad was fresh, not a lot of dressing (only the few pieces at the top had dressing on it) But apparently that is his way of dealing with customers, lots of articles about how he denied a paraplegic from bringing his service dog with him to eat.. Nick you piece is shit!

Very friendly service. Their fish and chips tastes really good, only thing i didn't like was their gravy, it was very bland. The fish frying batter was good but i prefer The Halibut's House fish fry batter more.

Nice little gem in the East end of Markham, delish fish and chips, super friendly service, and affordable price. We came here for their lunch specials. $7.99 for haddock fish and chips with a pop; great price. It came with generous amount of fries and home made tartar sauce. Tue night is Greek night, buy one soulaki dinner, get one half off. Lunch specials are from 11am to 3pm.

    Haddock, fries and coleslaw $13.45

Now I can go to heaven, in peace. Place is small, and waiting for a table is de rigor. We placed our name in the Google waitlist, then waited another hour to be seated on Friday night. Based on reviews, got the Singapore chili crabs with the king oyster mushrooms (under the crab it soaked up all the goodness), spicy clams garlic veggies and the beef in black pepper/garlic. All were well done, the veggies had great wokhai, met with appreciation at the table. Clams and crabs were spicy for some and ok for others (our table was Cantonese and Korean). Crab was delicious, and the sauce called for rice to be mixed in after the crab was done. It filled us, but not too much. Next time we might try other sauces, but the Singapore chili sauce was killer. Totally worth the money and the hassle. In a mall full of other restaurants this place was the busiest. Very cute decor and free ice cream!

Overall the food was good. The sauces were all really good and enhanced the flavour of the shellfish. In my opinion, the salted egg yolk was a bit too creamy and felt better suited for something like a pasta. The curry was alright, but my favourite was the Singaporean chilli crab. It was a whole infusion of flavour and had a little kick to it as well! My only complaint is it is a bit on the pricey side (was about $70 per person), but that's expected with lobster and crab.

They operated for 30 years at their old location. This location soft-opened on 2026-02-12. We came on 2026-02-25 for dinner. There were still some furnishings to complete (there were unforeseen delays). They kept the same menu offerings but it will be expanded within a month. We ordered the following: 1. Citra Terre D'Abruzzo Pinot Grigio - Italy (glass $14.95). 2. Coke. 3. Crab Cakes ($19.95). 4. New Orleans Shrimp Cocktail ($19.95). 5. Jambalaya Aranchini (weekly special). 6. Every dish had an excellent presentation. We spent a lot of time taking photos and videos. What did you expect from me?! We loved all the dishes! The portions were large! There are more staff than in the previous location, allowing the service to be excellent. They tend to have many loyal and returning customers. Every table starts with freshly baked bread and butter. The bread was so fresh! The three appetizers tasted good. They each had a little kick due to creole cuisine. I loved the shrimp the most. The Blackened Lamb Chops was perfectly cooked. Each of the four pieces were very tender, accompanied by a delicious sauce. The dish had some very nicely cooked seasonal vegetables: roasted potatoes, a red pepper, string beans, a broccoli, and a carrot. This dish will be put into their regular menu in the near future. The New Orleans Fisherman's Plate is great if you want a little sampling of their seafood: Blackened Fish, Cajun Calamari, and Coconut Beer Shrimp. It also comes with rice and seasonal vegetables. The fish was so good! We brought some home for my mom and she really loved it. The Coconut Beer Shrimp was on top of a Orange Marmalade Sauce, which is really liked. The three desserts looked really good and tasted good. I loved the pecan pie the most. They can split dishes in half in the kitchen and serve them on two dishes for two people to share. The restaurant uses fresh seasonal ingredients and spices to create authentic Creole and Cajun tastes. Everything is made in-house except for bread and butter. In the near future, their bread will be made in-house too. Currently, there is only indoor dining but they are looking into the possibility of sidewalk outdoor dining. Mike Djurdjevic runs the front of the house while his wife, Mira Djurdjevic, operates the kitchen. Their son, Marko, also helps in the front of the house. There is a large pizza oven at the back of the restaurant. They will be introducing creole pizza in the near future. There is a separate large room for events, parties, etc. This room will be ready in the near future. They also do catering. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There is one gender-neutral washroom, which is also wheelchair accessible, and one female washroom. Thrre is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2026-037

When we arrived, he insisted that we did not have a reservation even after we showed our confirmation, and, instead of apologizing for what appeared to be the restaurant's booking system error, he tried to lecture us about how certain reservation websites do not allow large-group bookings. Rather than taking responsibility or working professionally toward a solution, his attitude was rude, dismissive, and completely inappropriate. Fortunately, the lady working with him was kind, professional, and genuinely tried to explain the situation and find a way to accommodate us. She deserves recognition for her efforts. Our group was in town for an eight-day conference with more than 3,000 attendees. Because of this experience, this restaurant has unfortunately been added to the "not recommended" list for this annual event. When restaurants host business travelers, the way guests are treated matters just as much as the quality of the food. Unprofessional treatment of customers and business partners can damage relationships and cost businesses significant opportunities. To anyone considering this restaurant: the food is excellent, but if you're planning an important business dinner or any special occasion, be aware that the wrong interaction at the front desk could ruin your evening. Great food alone cannot make up for poor management and unprofessional customer service.

They double has a cafe. I love the decor! Very open, spacious, dark in a nice way, with a gorgeous sign at the back center wall. Staff are friendly and quick to check on you. The food was ok! I wouldn't say it was my favorite, and I wasn't quite blown away with anything. I would come back for certain things though. Starting off with the salad, the dressing had a texture and taste that I can only tell you was not made fresh in house. It had that sort of translucent quality to it that reminds me of bottled sauce. Portion was good, but I wish they would toss it for you. The bowl is full of salad and they drizzle the dressing on top. It's a thick dressing that's pretty hard to toss in the bowl. It's a minor thing but honestly would be a much better dining experience. Also if they just made their own ceasar dressing. The seafood boil was also meh. I got half pound mussels with Cajun sauce. It comes on a platter with rice, potatoes and corn. I felt that it would be nice if you could pick your own sides, like at other seafood boils. The potatoes had no flavor inside them and the corn was really starchy and rough, with no corn flavor. It was a bit off putting. The sauce was ok, but I think they use too much seasoning powder, or over cooked the garlic because it was leaving a bitter flavor behind. I didn't love it by the third bite. The fish and chips were probably the best of what we ordered. It's the Costco fries texture which I love!!! Plus the fish is cooked well. The batter is very light and crispy. Total perfection! So yeh!! I would highly recommend the fish and chips, but I would probably skip the boil here.

The restaurant is brightly lit with lots of natural sunlight, the decor is a mix of elegance and rustic at the same time. It's got an open and inviting feel. Our server was fantastic - very patient with a large group like ours, able to tell us right off the bat what is and is not customizable, recommendations of when to order to ensure flow works out. Food: Charbroiled octopus - one of my favorite dishes I tried - perfectly cooked, has a nice char, good meaty bits but not chewy, has a really nice chili oil on it. I can not stress how much I recommend getting this if you enjoy seafood. 5/5. Chorizo appetizer - comes out in a little pig plate with an open flame underneath. The chorizo itself is good with a nice spice, dense meat. The best part of this dish (IMO) is the spiced apple sauce on the side that cuts the richness of the sausage with a sweet and tangy apple and a little spice kick. 4.5/5. Bread - fresh baked bread with butter, a pumpkin jam and cheese. Everything on that plate works so well together. I definitely recommend this as an all rounding pleasing appetizer - 5/5. Beets - the beets were fresh with a vibrant orange colour. The apple, walnut and goat cheese all work together. I do wish this dish had a bit more but it works. 4.5/5. Brussel sprouts - amazing deep fried brussel sprouts - makes me want to always deep fry them for life. The spicy harissa sauce works well with the sprouts. Crunchy peanuts on top add both a texture and nuttiness that is refreshing to the brussel sprouts. 5/5. Oysters - super fresh, absolutely delicious without any condiments needed. Loved them. 5/5. Paella - this is definitely large enough for 2 people to eat so consider sharing unless you have a monster appetite. As with all their plates, it is beautifully constructed. The shrimp are huge and meaty. Mussels are plentiful, lots of chorizo and bay scallops. The rice has that really nice briny seafood flavor from the broth. It was just a teeny tiny bit overly salty to my taste but it's cut with the dollops of sour cream. Has this really nice low level heat that just works without burning your mouth. 4.5/5. Lamb sirloin - great crust on the lamb and cook as well. Flavorful sear and crust on the lamb with a soft tender meaty interior. Can't go wrong with- 5/5. Branzino - delicious flaky and light with a great grill. If you're interested in a fresh fish, this is a good choice. Was a special on the menu - 5/5. Prices: Fine dining pricing but you get the excellent food, service and experience for the price.

According to my relatives, this used to be the original location of Fishman, so the dishes on the…read moreset menu are similar. And I have to say, after visiting here twice in one week, the food here tasted quite like it! I noticed that there were many different flavours in terms of lobster dishes, which is good if you want a little variety and you don't want to get bored of having the same flavour the entire meal. We ordered the lobster in cheese sauce, lobster fried with garlic, and of course, the lobster mountain. They serve the lobster mountain with the little fried fishes which taste amazing on its own, and even better paired with congee or rice. We also had the steamed bass and crab legs which were tasty as well. However, there are a few cons about this place. The location is small and not very roomy, so it gets uncomfortable if you're with a big group. I felt squished sitting so close to my relatives and by the people sitting at the table behind me. Also, when the servers brought the live lobsters out, they let it crawl on the lazy Susan. The water that it was swimming in was left and not cleaned up which grossed me out. Not an appetizing site. Seafood was pretty average for the price paid. I probably won't come back here on my own because of the cons that I mentioned, but who knows, maybe I'll be back if my family drags me out here again. If you're looking to come here, make a reservation beforehand as this place gets packed!
