This music and entertainment venue has new life…read more The venue now has seats on the lower level that were only for special shows. I would always call the box office to be sure of the layout before buying tickets. I saw Qveen Herby and Thot Squad (May 20th) and it was a safe vibe of all types of people. The check in process was smooth and someone helped me to my seat up stairs. I enjoyed the show but my accessible seat kind of sucked because once folks stood up I couldn't see. I asked some other people to help me be a mood killer and kindly ask others to sit down, but the venue should adjust those seats one more time. Also they should go back to just being a smoking building because everyone was vaping and the smell of smoke and marijuana was very pronounced! Either crack down hard or let the people smoke it up. Accessibility note: there is not enough parking so get an uber or pray to the parking goddesses. There is stepless entry but if your seat is upstairs, you will need a proper staff member to key in the elevator for you. I waited over 10 minutes for assistance (they bought me a drink tomorrow ease that soreness). Bring headphones or ear plugs as the whole suite booms! Don't be afraid to tell folks down in front because you cannot see.

The view from any seat is great. Even in the "nosebleeds," you're not far from the stage. The sound is outstanding. The staff are always friendly. Even when getting busted sneaking liquor in, they were so nice, LOL! Bathrooms are clean and plentiful. The bar? Expensive. I mean, expect to pay concert venue prices. Just club soda is even $4. They will, however, let you bring food in or even order food to the venue. Parking can be tricky along Delmar. There is a parking lot behind the venue that I recommend. Love this place for concerts and absolutely recommend seeing a show here.

Delmar Hall is what I've always thought of as the Pageant's little sibling. I hadn't gone until recently to see the always wonderful Jon McLaughlin. When you walk into Delmar Hall you enter into a moderately sized bar. Maybe 30 people could mill about comfortably. They had a good selection of mixed drinks and beers. The show I attended was rather lightly attended, so there was no issue getting a drink before the show or at intermission. The hall itself is long and narrow. It is sloped downward, so that if you are at the back you still have no problem seeing the stage. The room can have folding chairs laid out and this is the case for the show we saw. Most of the time though I'd expect it to be standing room only. This is something to be aware of as I could imagine this being a deal breaker for some older concert goers or anyone with a physical impairment. I though that the sound quality was good and overall it had a nice intimate feel.

All the staff are super friendly and aren't too strict about their search policy. You can have bags as long as they're under 12" x 6" x 12". Mushrooms were never busy even though the place was. Everything was cleaned up nicely. They must keep around the clock cleaning though because somebody dropped deuce in the bathroom and it was horrid. Went back 30 minutes later couldn't even tell. I don't drink beer so I can't really comment on that, but my partner does and said that it was great. I was offered THC seltzer, which I also don't drink either but they had limited access for NA. I didn't care give me water, I'm here for the music.

We were just about to order the toasted ravioli which are locally noteworthy here. Except that in the introduction and telling about the place, our waitress informed us that Blueberry Hill is also owned by the same people who own Pin Up Bowl across the street. We had been there earlier in the week for a work party and the toasted ravioli there are the same ones that arrive by the same delivery here. So we skipped those. We ordered drinks and found some nice options. I had a tin of a local light beer and that was quite tasty. Looking for something different, we went with the fried cheese balls. Sadly, not that great. Battered and fried, they were not very flavorful and no sharpness to the cheese. Peel off the batter and they look like just the same cheese cubes you can get at the supermarket. So I'd say skip these too. Otherwise, Blueberry Hill is cool. The memorabilia on the walls, the fun games in the next room and don't skip the Duck Room. It's a neat place and maybe on my next visit, something more substantial to eat with our drinks. [Review 439 of 2026 - 508 in Missouri - 25622 overall]

I don't remember what I had on my most recent visit. It may have been only a lemonade; I wasn't feeling well after an ice cream float at Fitz's across the street (lol @ my dietary choices). Blueberry Hill is locally iconic to the point that the place feels borderline touristy on a busy weekend afternoon. However, if you come in the evening during the week, it's much quieter and low-key, and I prefer that vibe. After you order, if it isn't too busy, try to spend a few minutes looking at the walls of photos of celebrities who have visited Blueberry Hill. (At least, I think they've all visited and it isn't a mixture of those folks & photos from founder Joe Edwards' private collection. Even if it were the latter, it still would be fun to look at the photos.)

Manchester Avenue seems to carry the energy, a long run of neon and murals and patios. I saw rainbow flags and dive bars and a few spots that seem just a little scruffy around the edges that keep the place from turning into a theme park version of itself. I have been here on foot and by car. By car, the parking was easy enough as long as you're aware of the hydrants and driveways so you don't block either. On food, the blocks are short and the sidewalks are wide enough that you never feel squeezed. The neighborhood feels expressive and welcoming, like it wants you to see the art, feel the music and take in the color. If I was ever looking to move back into a city, I'd be looking at places in this part of Saint Louis. [Review 370 of 2026 - 494 in Missouri - 25556 overall]
