The food is classed as pan asian which is great as I love all asian food. However, the sushi, although very good, I feel it is slightly overpriced for what you get. The duck, especially at lunch, is amazing value though. Plenty for 2 to share. This is definitely a place to try out if you love asian food.

My first visit to Sakana and I was pleasantly surprised at how its interior looked (more so the delicious smells wafting over as you passed by their open kitchen). We were seated in a corner with decent views of the goings-on, and set about conquering the menu - the group was almost military in its tactics, dividing the menu's sections between ourselves to make sure we got to sample lots of different dishes. Three of us ordered a bottle of their house red (a Merlot) which was actually quite good - a bit on the peppery side but I really liked it. The food started to arrive after a bit of a wait, but we'd had some prawn crackers to whet our appetite. The sashimi platter that I ordered for us all to share was a bit disappointing (usual price £28 for 15 pieces). I can't think of anything else that was particularly underwhelming; the combo of orders was all rather good - but the highlights for me were the Taiwanese buns which you could have with shredded duck or pork belly (we ordered both). These were absolutely heavenly, for want of a better word. Service was friendly, if not a tad haphazard at times; it's definitely somewhere to consider for date night. That being said, you'd have to be happy 'flashing the cash' as I don't think it's worth the full price they'd ordinarily be charging diners.

Or perhaps they don't need to and it is just a play pet project for the owners who also own Seamark (the building next door) Hulme is not a nice area and it really is an odd place to have a restuarant such as this, bit out the way and not a place I recommend for a nice stroll. The decor is great and they spent millions of pounds designing it, so you will certainly be in awe of the place. However the food is not so grand. It is by no means bad but come on!!!!! This is Manchester and as fellow yelpers would testify there is a massive choice for diners and to be honest when it comes to food alone this place falls short of a few places I can think of. As I said the food is ok, and the place is well worth checking out once, but will you return there on a regular basis?? I think not. Oh, and I have no idea who thought it was a good idea to make this brochure that you can pick up on your way out, but it did make me cringe. Awful design and a blatantly staged picture with a rather lairy looking Ryan Giggs with an accompanying caption which read "regular customers" made me just think "school boy error!!!!!!!!" So perhaps its not so much the place, which is great, nor the food, which is not bad. It's just.... it seems the owner put a lot of time, effort and money into the place and left it for a bunch of monkeys to run... But hey I took me madre here on her birthday and she loved it. The ambiance of the place. So much so she didn't really care what the food was like. I imagine that sentiment is echoed quite alot..... So 3*s is about right me thinks...A-ok indeed fellow yelpeeps.. And now, Sayuri has grown up into a real contender for the title of Becca's Fave Takeout Ever. With a pretty gargantuan menu, ranging from Japanese teriyaki sizzlers, to Thai red, green and yellow curries, Sayuri has turned from a humble Chinese takeaway into a pan-Asian fusion place with more dishes than Gordon's Kitchen (maybe...I haven't counted.) Throw in the fact that this place is seriously good value and you're onto a winner. Oh, and the food. The food is good. Personally, I am a salt&pepper fan (and Salt 'n' Pepa, but that's a different story, which has nothing to do with Chinese food) and I find Sayuri's s&p seasoning to be amongst the best I've ever had. Especially on the chips, which I strongly recommend you buy if you pop into the Friendship for a pint. They are simply delish. The meat used in Sayuri's dishes is always good quality. I can't remember ever having a skanky gristly bit, and there's always a goodly amount in your sauce. A main will set you back no more than £7, with starters around £3. The soup section of the menu is awesome; they offer 17 soups! 17! That's more soups than I have ever tasted (this is a lie, I have probably tasted more...) First timer? Try Becca's Trusted Sayuri Picks: - S&P beef - Hot and sour soup - Japanese tempura prawns (a whopping EIGHT for less than £4!) - Sizzling chicken balls in batter (balls! LOL!) - Roast duck with mandarin sauce - Dry-frid udon with beef YUM YUM YUM! I have ordered from Sayuri more times than I can remember, and was delighted that when we moved to the city centre, we're still juuuuust inside their catchment area. If the recent expansion of the menu is anything to go by, we're not the only ones who love it so! Give it a go, you won't regret it.

We booked the 30% off in January deal and rocked up not knowing what to expect. It's in a lovely (but expensive) part of the city and walking in you could see it would be lavish. The lighting was dim but good and we got a little confused as there was nobody waiting at the sorry, so we went upstairs and to the bar and checked in and quickly got seated. The chair and booth was so soft and comfy I sank into it and felt like I was gonna sink forever ... but I survived and it was comfy. The place setting was so much fancier than I was used to and it oozed posh. We quickly got served and the server was lovely and helpful and the restaurant was just lovely. When we got our food (decided in just a main and later desert as we planned for later tacos) and oh my god .. the ribeye was the best steak I've ever had. It was so tender and juicy and cooked to perfection and the thick cut chips were brilliant. I just got a single small glass of red (which was more than I usually pay for a bottle ) and was just lovely. The desert came later and my god that was equally as good. The bill was £80 for 2 of us but with the 30% off went down to £60 which was cheaper than other places we've been to but only with the money off. Would I go again as a date or treat? ... Absolutely

It can be accessed via a secluded staircase inside Austalasia, this unique cocktail bar evokes the atmosphere of a luxury Pacific beach hideaway with smart colonial style decor in cream and white, a long bar, and a secret tropical garden. With exquisite cocktails as its main focus. The menu is the same as Australasia so you can expect some mouth watering sushi and desserts here. The whole place screams class and panache from every corner. This bar is definitely very unique and reminds me a lot of classy cocktail bars in London or New York. The pricing definitely is very high end as you would imagine and you need to put on some swanky clothes to feel not so out of place here. I can vouch that the food is delicious and so are the cocktails, but that you can find in a lot of other places too so this one you need to visit purely for the ambiance and the whole experience. Verdict : Great place to visit when you want to feel special!

I immediately marked down this place. The weather was so good this afternoon so I decided to pay a visit with my friend. I arrived at 6:15 and it was totally empty inside, and we were the only table they served tonight. Which was a very first time for me but I think it was enjoyable because I can have my own time with my friends. I had Passion fruit and mango mocktail and I recommended my friend to try lassi since its signature drinks, my friends really enjoyed it and would like to try again next time. For starter we had Salmon Takki and Lamb chop. Both were very very delicious. Salmon was fresh and cooked perfectly. The marinate was indeed spot on. Lamp chop was a highlight as well. It was tender and juicy. I would definitely recommend this for every meat lover. For main course we had Chicken xacuti, it was recommended by the waitress. The flavor was very rich and quite spicy for me though, but it went well with the freshly made roti so I can manage the spice. But for chicken dish, it is very hard to cook it right because its very easy to be overcooked and taste dry. I can't say ziya makes perfect chicken curry, but it wont disappointed you much. Maybe try some lamb and seafood curry? Overall, Ziya gave me a very great impression, not only the food they serve but also the friendly staff as well. I really enjoy their beautiful venue and chilling atmosphere. Would revisit soon!
