Great food and amazing atmosphere! I visited this place in Manchester twice...once for breakfast and the other time at lunch. Both times were great, but their breakfast menu is different vs lunch and dinner. All the staff are very friendly and responsive, and they offer a variety of items on their menu. The Manchester exclusive (Nalli Nihari Biryani) special was amazing...highly recommend it.

It's a really good restaurant. All the food is spicy (heavy on spice) and well balanced. The staff is fast and attentive. The venue is huge and way bigger than you think. I came from a big city America and thought I knew Indian food. This one blew my mind. The Nalli Nihari Biryani is the best version of biryani I ever eaten. The Blacken Butterflied Prawns might be the best tandoori dish I tried. I just wish I live closer to eat here more often.

Upon hearing about our trip to England, multiple people told us we had to eat at Dishoom... we were planning on heading to the London location, but our friends in Manchester took us to this location instead and it was fabulous. Rafaella was our server and she was amazing... the building this restaurant took over is absolutely stunning and was formerly a bank. The vibe inside is warm, clean and feels like modern India (although admittedly I have not been to India). The food was so delicious too. My kids hit their limit and didn't stay long... they went back to the house with one of our friends, but those of us that stayed to dine in enjoyed every morsel. My personal favorites included the blackened shrimp, okra fries, chicken tikka, rice, corn and Black Dahl. We feasted! Highly recommend!

The food here is fantastic. Probably the best Indian cuisine I've ever had. The curry is pretty spicy (which I love) with perfect balance with the ingredients.

I honestly cannot stop talking about how delicious my TWO meals were here. Yes, I came twice in the same trip, lol. This is, hands down, the best Indian food I have ever eaten in my entire life, and I grew up in Southeast Asia. I was here for work, and we ventured here on our very first night -- you'll put your name down with the host, and then wait inline. I was surprised at the wait on a Sunday night, but after hearing all the buzz about Dishoom, we knew it was going to be worth it. In fact, I asked the host to make us a reservation for our very last night, because I had a hunch we would want to return (and I was right). Let me start by highlighting the service. My co-worker is celiac and they really took the time to explain what she could / couldn't eat and what possible cross contamination could occur. 5-stars for that, alone. I'd have to say that the top dishes I ate there, on both nights, was the broccoli salad, the daal, and the biryani. OH OH, and let's not forget the kulfi popsicle desserts. I tried the pistachio and the mango, both were excellent. You also should have their cocktails -- I particularly loved their whisky sour that was a blend of Indian and Japanese whisky (damn, it was so good). The roti was also sheer heaven. In short, you must make your way here, if you're in Manchester. And go twice, so you can get to sample as much of their menu as possible. Even better if you're a large group! They seriously should consider opening a location in NYC.

Incredible. From the papadum to the chicken Ruby and garlic naan, all of it is at its best. Super savory and deep flavor with the makhani sauce, which only serves to elevate the naan that you can't help but dip in. Not the cheapest meal as you'll have to pay for rice separately. But forget the prices and order all you want, you'll have little to regret.

The best Indian restaurant in Manchester! Outstanding and spacious dining room. Top end service staff. The food is just fantastic. For the small plate try the Chilli Chicken. The Lamb Boti Kebab is a great main dish. Pair that with the Bowl of Greens.

You will be received with a warm welcome and an offer to wait at the bar and have a tipple while you wait for your table. The friendliness continues by means of the staff as it's attention to customer service and details. The food will not disappoint you as the same attention that receives you at the entrance seems to continue in their kitchen. Reservations are recommended but try your luck as a walk in and you may be pleasantly surprised.

Unbelievable. Best Indian food I've had in my life, went for breakfast and it was so delectable, refreshing, and spicy. Definitely will be back next time I'm in London yeh

When you first arrive, the waiter will sit you down on a table and then you order by scanning a QR code or going to the bar area. Didn't make a lunch reservation in advance but was still able to get a good table. - Bundo Chaat - Probably one of the best reinvented Indian dishes I've ever had and is a MUST at Bundobust. The crispy samosa pastry mixed in with the creamy yogurt and slightly hot chili sauce is maybe one of the best dishes I've ever had. Usually I'm not a huge fan of cold food, but this was actually so unbelievably good, like eating an unhealthy salad. The potatoes and chickpeas on top were also fantastic. - Chole Saag - Not as big of a fan but still great nonethless. It's kind of exactly what you would expect: chickpea and spinach curry paired with some kind of bread. I will say that for the price, it is incredibly nice and generous that they give you the puri on the side because usually at other Indian places in London, you do need to order it as an extra. Overall, absolutely fantastic place to eat while in Manchester. Do not sleep on the Bundo Chaat at all, probably one of the best Indian foods I've ever had. Also during the weekday they have a lunch deal where's its 2 for £9 which is honestly super nice of them to do and also very filling too.

In these competitive environs, Akbar's holds its own with its gigantic naans and its flavorful curries. The offal-based offerings, such as maghaz (sheep's brain) masala and chicken liver tikka, are my personal favorites. The maghaz has a creamy, buttery texture and loads of flavor. The perfectly chewy naan is a great accompaniment to both dishes. A steaming cup of the sweet and salty Kashmiri chai is a perfect way to finish a meal on a cold Manchester winter evening (I usually find myself in Northern England around Christmastime).

For example, bookings in small numbers are not allowed, so if your party is less than 10 you would have to wait in the lounge. Moreover, you wouldn't be put in the queue for tables until all the people from your party have arrived! Once they have, you are given a device which will start flashing once your table is ready. For us it took just about 30 minutes (on a Thursday evening), so make sure you have no other plans this evening or come earlier. The place was full, we load to squeeze behind other guests backs - shows how popular the place is. Our waiter was very friendly and made us feel welcome immediately. Despite the venue being packed, food arrived quickly, and it was just delicious - couldn't find any faults! For those who feel adventurous, there are chef's challenges with spicy food (I heard you get s free dessert if you finish it- however , can't vouch for this). I have tried a tiny piece of this challenge from my friends plate, and almost cried from the amount of hot spices! Despite the wait, very enjoyable experience, and prices are more than friendly, which is very unusual for the city centre.

For veggies they offer standard veggie dishes to some special Himalayan ones..And for meat eaters the world is your Oyster! We ordered two pints of kingfisher and starters only, wanting to take our time. So two poppdums and daal soup later and we were happy ;) the dips accompanying the poppdums were well made , they consisted of generic mango chutney, lime pickle , raita and a curry sauce. The soup was of perfect consistency .. Potentially a dash more of lemon was required. Starters gone I then chose the curried seabass, rice and chappati. Himself selected the chicken curry. The sea bass was one of the most expensive dishes but when it arrived sizzling on a hotplate I was pleased. On the side it came with a gorgeous veggie curry sauce. The portions were massive unlike some places you go that offer no more than a sliver of fish. Even digesting this with red wine I waved the white flag at half way point. To end we were given segments of orange and the bill. Everything was reasonably.priced, well made and the service attentive.
