Great restaurant, always stop in when in town. Huge portions, always fast service, good coffee, usually packed.

We go here a lot for breakfast. I usually get an omelette. It's always stuffed with meat & cheese. The portion sizes are huge compared to Bob Evans & Perkins. An omelette is only $6.99. You get a huge portion of hash browns as well. The hash browns are pretty bland but they have no problem adding some peppers & onions to them for you. At my servers suggestion, I tried pouring a cup of gravy over top of them. Delicious! Loved the gravy. Atmosphere is ok, nothing fancy, but it's clean. The bathrooms are always pretty clean. We've had just about all the servers here and honestly all of them are really friendly. Some more than others but for the most part, they are all really friendly & attentive. On top of drink refills. Hey what's up? Me again! So this place is obviously called blue sky but you're inside? So u can't really see how blue the sky really is! The food.....just fanfrickentastic! I mean it just goes inside your throat and youre done! I recommend the eggs Benedict because I get it every time! I've never tried the bathrooms here so that's why it's a four star so you never know if they suck or nah! Probably not! The atmosphere is just fanfrickentastic! Old people everywhere!! It's like a nursing home! Awesome! The music is a little old for my liking but I'm pretty sure everyone else is okay with it! So that's fine by me! Edit: I just finished eating and boy do I have a story for you! So I thought it was Friday...and the waitress reminded me that it was still Thursday and I almost cried...I really hate Thursday I mean it's like Friday Eve! Gross. I ordered dinner for my husband (just out of the hospital after surgery) and picket it up on my way home. Once hoe and opened the bag ,found the ordered and paid for soup was missing. I took the time to go back (15 minutes one way). I asked the girl if there was any way to perhaps be comped a dessert for the inconvenience. This manager came out and snottily asked what I wanted. I told her I did not receive the soup and would like that and wondered if I might be comped a dessert for the inconvenience. She stated she could comp me a bread pudding-everyone's favorite dessert-NOT. I said you give that for free with your daily specials. SHe began to yell and I do mean yell at me in front of all her employees and customers about how rude I was to ask for something free (a simple no, and I am sorry we forgot the soup would have sufficed). She then said :get out of my restaurant and never come back" Oh well, guess somebody had a bad day read more

Food was excellent. Portions were huge. Their quesadilla's are huge. They were extremely accommodating to special diets (vegetarian and gastric bypass diets). The only critique is that they didn't have a senior menu on the weekend, only week days. Atmosphere was casual. read more

You simply cannot go wrong with a well run, 'mom and pop' locally owned diner/family restaurant! Blue Sky is no exception. Our friends who live in North Ridgeville took us here for the first time recently, and the food and service were simply fantastic! Our group of 5 came hungry and left satiated. The food tasted great, the portions were big, and their prices were reasonable. Our server did an exemplary job of checking our coffee cups, and asking us several times how things were and if we needed anything. Frankly, I don't ever want to go to any of those ripoff, overpriced and overhyped national chains again, when places like 'Blue Sky' provide superior value. I don't even mind taking the ride from North Olmsted every now and then. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I ordered food for breakfast for myself and a friend and picked it up to go. We both ordered hash browns and they were burnt. My friend asked for an omelette and it looked like a sponge! Her whole breakfast was bad except for her bacon. Normally, I wouldn't even write a review but when she called to tell them about it the lady was nonchalant about it and offered to replace the hash browns when all of it was bad except the meat. I have eaten at the location in Amherst and the food was good. This was my first and last time going here. At least try to make it right when someone isn't satisfied. It was a waste of my 15.00. I prefer leaving good reviews but this place makes acception. Food? My cousin says it tastes prepackaged & prefers Denny's. I wanted to make my own decision but wasn't given the chance. I had to greet the young lady that was organizing menus and seating people. Being as this was my first time be here, I wasn't sure about self seating as most places to not self seat except at counters or small diners. I clarify there was only one on my party. So far do good. Is a booth okay? No, actually, I need a chair. Oh. She glanced around, well all I have is a booth, sorry (I think she said sorry). The cashier heard this while taking care of a customer and looked in pain. Politely I said, your kidding? This is my first time in and looks like my last. Things they could have done? 1) Offered an option to wait. There were plenty of extra chairs to be had and one could have been set to the side for this purpose. 2) Offered a complimentary beverage during said wait. Coffee? Water (yes please, water would be fine). Tea, hot or iced? No option we offered just, no table. I've been in management in a much more intense environment than restaurant and I would never allow one of my employees to simply dismiss somebody like that. I can't comment on the food since I could not get any service. My husband and I sat for 10 minutes waiting for staff to acknowledge us and take our order or even bring water. To make it worse 4 staff members walked by without so much as offering water or coffee. After 10 minutes, got up and exited, still no interaction with staff. Will never return! read more

Ugh. The only thing good was the Pepsi, when I had some in my cup that is. Everything on all 3 of our plates tasted like it had a life span of: 7 years in a can, just tasted the sweet smell of air in the 2.5 seconds it took to reach the microwave for a quick 'nuke', then directly to our plates. Completely disgusting. I asked our 'amazing' server (note sarcasm) if they have anything on the menu that isn't from a can. Her response said it all. She just looked at me as if I was the crazy one for not liking paying $8 for a plate of Dollar General brand corned beef hash. I don't care how big the portions are. The service was terrible, food was horrific, and the restaurant smelled like they had some bad plumbing issues. Stay away from this place!!!! read more

I ordered stir-fry, and it was awful. The vegetables looked like they were the end of the day. My husband and I came about an hour before the end of the day, which was probably why. The sauce looked like it was entirely soy sauce and the rice wasn't a white rice but something else. I barely touched it. I should of said something, but the waitress was sweet, and it wasn't her fault. My husband ordered a rib eye steak, and he said it was fine. Blue Sky is one of my family's favorite restaurants. The food is delicious and the service is good. Their menu reminds me of Amish, country, "home cooked", kind of thing. To say their portions are generous would be a huge understatement. Let's put it this way, their Roast Beef Dinner is roughly a side of beef, I think. Plan to take some home or share with someone. The large portion size makes them a great value. Their menu prices aren't the lowest that I've seen, but considering how much food that you get, it's more than worth it. Their desserts are out of this world good! The only problem is, they give you so much food that you will rarely have enough room for dessert. My wife and I have had just dessert and coffee a few times so that we could actually try them. They have various cakes, pies, and cheesecakes, as well as bread pudding. I don't remember what they call it but the super rich, quadruple chocolate cake is decadent beyond belief! All of the servers that we have ever had were very polite and efficient. Food comes from the kitchen reasonably fast. I ordered a steak medium-rare once and it came well-done. I complained and they apologized and promptly made me another one that was cooked perfectly. The restaurant and restrooms are clean. We were at a table once where whenever someone came through the kitchen doors we had a pretty good view of the kitchen. I have been here about a dozen times. The food is pretty inconsistent. I have had some decent meals, but the last time I went I had a chicken wrap that was inedible. Usually the food is pretty average. The price is low and the portions are massive so everyone in the suburbs thinks this place is great. Really it's a below average greasy spoon. read more

Oh, my lord. You cannot, absolutely cannot beat the service. The food is absolutely amazing and you get huge portions of whatever you order. It's a nice and quiet environment. The dinner is so good my favorite is their supreme Philly cheese steak, this one is for the cheese lovers since it is loaded with cheese and it's paired with slaw and a large portion of steak fries. For breakfast it's the apple cinnamon French toast, with it's three big pieces of texas toast (one on the bottom and two cut in half) that holds in the huge scoop of gooey caramelized cinnamon apple slices and is topped with whipped cream (I also add syrup). Long story conclusion, you cannot go wrong eating here. read more

The waitress was nice..... but new. Due to dietary restrictions / no grains, they were unwilling to substitute Apple sauce for the soup. We ordered the broiled walleye and the liver and onions, both were over cooked and very dry. We asked if they hired a new chef because they were not as crowded and the food quality definitely changed. They said no. When letting the woman at the register know to maybe keep an eye on the chef in the future, she seemed pretty closed off to the advice. We may try going back, but we will wait awhile. read more

OMG. I am lucky we used a gift certificate we won for this place as I would have hated to use my own money. I had $25 to spend so I got a steak. They price the steak like at an Outback but it is only about 25 percent as good. My brother just wanted a burger. Could have got the same quality as McDonalds. I've always seen this place when I drive down Cleveland Ave. I finally stopped and ate there, and was so happy with the food. I had the Matzo ball soup and a corned beef sandwich. Talk about huge helpings, it was well worth the money, and the food is extremely good. This is a must eat place, I wish I had taken the recommendation a long time ago to eat here. I ordered through door dash today and I got the Ruben and a side of fries, my Ruben had a long black hair hanging out of the sandwich and my fries were still raw... I called in about the food and they told me that the food wasn't their responsibility after it left the building and it was door dash's fault! The Amherst location is about a million times better. There's only one good server here. The rest will leave you without beverages for the vast majority of your meal. The portion sizes have gotten really skimpy. For example "The Bomb" use to come with two biscuits and now they just split one biscuit in half. I know that it sounds trivial, but I find small things like this important when I'm spending my hard earned money. Try the Amherst location. You'll see a huge difference. read more
