I reached out again recently, and unfortunately, the experience wasn't the same. It took about three days to get a call back, which I didn't mind because of the excellent service I'd had in the past. The rep came out, I showed him the areas I needed removed, and we had a good conversation. He gave solid advice and said he'd send over a quote. Three days later, I texted to follow up--to check whether the quote had been sent or had gone to the wrong email. I never received a response. It's now been 3-4 months without any communication. Honestly, he could have reached back out to me and told me the job was too small, or that they weren't willing to take it on. Any form of return communication is always better than no communication. At this point, I'll have to take my (admittedly small) job elsewhere. I'm genuinely disappointed because I was looking forward to working with them again, but the lack of follow-up left me stuck. I wish my experience this time matched the first one, but I wanted to share an honest update for anyone considering long-term work or multiple phases.

She was very pleasant and so knowledgeable. Initially we were hoping she could provide us with her thoughts based on when the home was built and pictures. But she explained to us that the only real way to ensure it's safe was to test. Makes sense. So we hired her. She was very prompt and punctual. Our appointment was brief but detailed. But I had to go with the restoration company I had already signed a contract with because they had already performed some services for me. If had had to pay them off it would have cost a lot of money. So it was cheaper have them finish the job for a package price. JRN was professional, and offered good advice on how to reduce repair costs. They are certified for asbestos and mold remediation. The lesson I learned is always find out the cost of a service before it's performed, even if you think insurance will pay for everything. In my case I did not have enough insurance coverage.

They were referred to me by my remediation vendor, who I've also been using for many years. 4 Elements Environmental ("4EE" for short for the purpose of this review) has been great both times I've used them. Their number one trait in my opinion is their communication. They return calls promptly, and are very polite and patient. After an appointment is set, they follow up with reminders and even send a courtesy message when the technician is on the way (which is SUPER APPRECIATE when dealing with arrival windows). Their pricing is also fair in my opinion, where I've worked with companies more & less expensive. But none of them communicated like 4EE which is a big deal for me in my business. I wanted them to check out this basement area and they showed up on time and all that. I don't know that much about this stuff but they could answer all my questions and I checked it against what I was learning on the internet. When I deal the people who look for termites, you can usually tell which companies are serious and well trained and which ones just generalize and say they have to spray your whole house and it will cost this much and that spiel. I'd put them in the former category. They gave me specific answers and could almost answer every one of my follow up questions. And I don't mind it if they say they aren't sure about one thing, and consult with someone. The fact that they aren't acting like they know everything on earth tells me, usually, they are being honest. I think they share a background with the person who referred me to them, so I fundamentally trusted them by the end. I spoke with three companies, who came out, and they were clearly the most knowledgeable and appreciated how dangerous this stuff is for me and my wife. I'm still discussing with them and the handy mans's company the whole process of removing it in this one area, so it's not fully resolved. But I feel like I know what the score it and what we need to do.
