It's a good thing there's a 40 minute drive between me and this bakery, lol. I had previously found them through a Yelp Elite event at their old location. Whenever I'm in the area I always make a point to stop in. This was my first time at their new location and the service was top tier. The employee was super friendly and I really appreciated the positive interaction. Their new location is simple, clean, and inviting. The desserts were 10/10 (of which I was too busy eating to capture). My favorite is the rainbow cookie bar. It's always a must in my order. I enjoyed the addition of dirty sodas to the menu as well. I look forward to returning for more delicious treats soon! read more

As a returning customer, I had to stop by Blue Sheep Bake Shop's new location. They've moved from their old spot on Division Street to Main Street. It's a short walk away, and they are now in Epic Cookies' old location. This new space is bigger and more front and center. A lot of people did not realize that their old location was even there on Division Street, until I took them there. They just opened this location about three days ago, so it was pretty busy when I visited today, and even Karin and her husband were in there helping out! Both very kind people! I came in for my favorite "Death by Chocolate" cupcake and was excited to try two new flavors, Coconut Guava and Lemon Raspberry. I usually check their website ahead of time to see what seasonal cupcakes they have before visiting, I saw those and rush over here. P.s. please bring back the Versailles Cupcake from Summer '25! That raspberry filling is heaven sent, and part of the reason why I came by to try the Lemon raspberry flavor! Even with the rush, the staff was just as friendly as always. I really love it here and always bring my family and friends when they are in town! I'll definitely miss the charm of the old location, but I'm excited for them in this new space and hope that it works out well for them! read more

We love this place. They always have fun creative desserts and everything is great. I'm addicted to ice cream and since they moved and have more options this has become a regular staple in our dessert eating out. The people are always great. The new location has an area to sit now. It's my favorite dessert and ice cream place. Their ice cream is really good. If we lived closer than 20 mins away we would probably be there weekly. Oh. And get the Reese's ice cream taco read more

Came here for a sweet treat right before closing and the person working was kind enough to let us in literally a minute before they were supposed to leave. The place was small, but gave off quaint and cute vibes. Flavors were solid and the black raspberry ice cream I got was tasty - price was decent as well and overall, I enjoyed it! If I'm ever in the area again, I would love to come back and try some of their baked goods too. Thanks, Blue Sheep! read more

The best carrot cake cupcake I have had in a long while. I am not into sugary-sweet desserts. Don't get me wrong, I do love a great dessert, but when it tastes like homemade, I'm totally there for it. Upon entering the store, I smelled the wonderful aromas and an even sweeter greeting from the lovely lady behind the counter. She mentioned the owner, Karin Giamella, was a winner of the Food Network Baking Show of the Real Housewives NJ. That's quite an accomplishment! She can customize any of her desserts to be gluten-free and still be as delicious and beautiful as her "regular" desserts. They also serve homemade ice cream that is homemade. Yes, you read correctly! In fact, everything is homemade, which is why the icing for the carrot cake cupcake did not taste artificial. read more

About five years ago, I purchased a cake from Blue Sheep Bake Shop and, to be honest, I wasn't happy with it at the time. I even shared my disappointment back then--but I'm happily eating my words now. Fast forward to 2024, my daughter insisted that only Blue Sheep Bake Shop could bring her dream baby shower cake to life. She worked closely with the owner, and the result was a stunning bow cake that absolutely wowed our guests. Not only was the design beautiful, but the flavor was just as impressive. Since then, she's gone back for her 30th birthday cake and already has plans for our granddaughter's first birthday cake and smash cake. It's safe to say we've become loyal customers. Thank you, Blue Sheep Bake Shop, for turning our celebrations into sweet memories! read more

I ordered a cake from here for my birthday and it came out perfect! The process was super easy as they have a ton of designs and inspo to choose from as well as different flavors and colors for frosting! I got a funfetti cake. The cake was moist and flavorful while not being too sweet. They also have a variety of cupcakes and ice cream to choose from in store as well! The ladies working the counter were great too! read more

I ordered a custom 5x8 cake and 32 cupcakes for my daughter's first birthday party with Karen and Blue Sheep, and everything turned out great! I placed the order about 6-7 weeks before the event because I was nervous she would be booked up otherwise, but didn't know the final number of cupcakes until two weeks beforehand which she was very flexible with. Karen was great to work with! Her and her team made my vision of a cute panda cake with color (not only black and white) come to life! Everyone also raved about the cake and cupcakes (vanilla and oreo), and especially the yellow cake with raspberry preserve swirl! read more

My sister ordered our Mom's 70th birthday cake from Blue Sheep. She sent an inspiration photo from Pinterest and honestly the cake we received blew the inspiration cake out of the water! I can't even count on two hands how many compliments we received on this cake. The best part is, they really don't use much fondant which can be really weird and not pleasurable to eat. Somehow they get a beautiful smoother than smooth finish using buttercream! The macarons were such an adorable touch. read more

It's about that time where I update my review for Blue Sheep, because I come here so often! I recently ordered two cakes for two birthday celebrations. One was a vanilla cake and the other was red velvet -both were a hit. I think each cake was about $45. The cakes are always so beautifully decorated and also very tasty. This is the only bakery where I also enjoy the icing since it doesn't taste overly sweet or artificial. I called before picking up to check what cakes were available and was told they were expecting a delivery same day. The bakery called me back when the cakes arrived. Love the customer service and will continue to recommend to others. read more

Ordered macaron favors for my daugther's graduation party as macarons from Blue Sheep is her absolute favorite. Besides a quick response, they connected me with Nyankind for custom labels who was able to make them and deliver to Blue sheep (less for me to worry about and do!). Our family and friends are still messaging me about how amazing the macarons tasted. The kids were eating them before lunch came out! read more

Our first time at Blue Sheep Bake Shop. We wanted a small cake for Valentine's Day. They had a small chocolate cake with chocolate mousse. The chocolate cake tasted fresh and the icing wasn't overly sweet or artificial. The cake was beautifully decorated and too nice to cut. The girls behind the counter were very helpful. Inside is small and there were 4-5 people waiting in line. We will definitely be going back. read more

Simply stopped in to grab a couple macaroons as a post-dinner treat. The two girls working were trying their best, but the shop was absolute chaos. There was really no indication of how or where to stand in line, and no real order to what was happening. I would go back, but only if I saw they weren't busy. Huge kudos to the ladies behind the counter last night because they continued doing their job the best they could and with a smile! read more

Was able to squeeze in a customized signature cake plus cupcake order less than two weeks before my wedding and the team came through for me in every way! Bless Karin for working with me while on her vacation to make sure my order was possible and ready by the pickup date! Everyone was super helpful and communicative. Small snafu on the day of pick up which Karin was able to help me fix and deliver my cake the next day. The cake was moist and delicious. The cupcakes were the perfect bites. So many rightfully earned accolades for this bake shop. I try to avoid sugar as much as possible so I usually avoid this place whenever I'm in Somerville but tonight, I caved. I wanted to see what the fuss was all about. I was torn between the strawberry champagne & the Rudolph's red velvet cupcakes. In the end, I opted for the Bailey's hot cocoa instead. The cake had SUCH a deep, lush chocolate flavor that paired perfectly with the AMAZING buttercream (THIS is my FAVORITE kind of buttercream) AND it even has a little chocolate surprise in the middle! I can't say that I tasted any Bailey's but it was still good! I also thought they are a little pricey. $5 for a small cupcake. The counter person was sweet, pun intended, and patient. She answered any and all of my questions since I was having a hard time deciding. The place was tight. There was seating but it was tight. read more

I returned here and ordered some ice cream this time around. They had a number of options available from cupcakes to cookies to macarons and also a Belgian waffle bar. I had a double scoop of strawberry and Oreo ($6+?). I thought the scoops were lacking a little, but not dramatically where it was an issue. The strawberry was one of the best I had, but big pieces of strawberry pieces threw me off a little bit. Besides that, it was creamy and very flavorful. The Oreo was nice as well with pieces of Oreo incorporated. It was solid. I also tried the coconut Nutella and peanut butter special flavor. Both were tasty. I am not a huge fan of coconut, but this combination with the Nutella really was appetizing. The peanut butter was full of peanut butter flavor, but not overdone. It also contained cookie dough chunks, brownie pieces, ice cream cake crunch, peanut butter swirl, and Oreos. The peanut butter flavor was easily the most noticeable. read more

Small and packed a punch. Food was beautiful. I ordered a dozen cupcakes all different flavors for a client. They were absolutely beautiful and each one looked delicious. Care in detail for presentation. I ordered a Dubai brownie. This was absolutely delicious. I understand the hype now. I could have more brownie and less ganache later but I have a less milder sweet tooth than others. Trust me I still ate the whole thing and loved every bit. The staff was so nice and bagged it beautifully for my Client. I would fully recommend coming to the bakery to support and taste the hard work and joy that comes out in their food. When I in Jersey again I will certainly stop bye. read more

After years of using them, I am so incredibly disappointed to post this negative review about Blue sheep. This year, my daughter made a drawing of her dream cake for her 7th birthday. I contacted Blue Sheep, and included the picture of her drawing on the request form. The owner quickly responded to the e-mail excitedly and asked to speak to my daughter on the phone. I was hesitant, but trusted that it would be a good experience. My daughter spoke to the owner on the phone, and she asked her questions to make sure she made the cake just right. She said she would write it up and get back to us. My daughter was so excited that they would bring her cake to life. We allowed her some time to send the invoice, as we know the shop is busy. After a couple weeks, I sent a follow up on our e-mail exchange, but received no response. I sent another follow up the following week, and received no response. After another week of nothing, my husband left a voicemail with the owner, but she never called back. A couple days later, I sent another email asking if they could please let us know if they can no longer make the cake so that we can make other arrangements. We never received a reply. Finally, I texted the owner. She responded saying sorry that she's driving and doesn't have our information on her. I sent her the pic of the cake. Then she said she is short staffed and behind on email. I responded that I'm sorry she is behind and that it had been weeks since we last spoke, and we sent multiple follow ups and a voicemail. She never responded to that last text. I could never respect a company or person that could treat a child like this. My daughter is heartbroken. ______________________________________________ 4.15.25 Updated with my response to Karin Hi Karin, You were able to respond to this so quickly. When I sent you a text on 4/2, I was trying to give you once last opportunity to respond and make amends. I knew that you require a few weeks for your custom cake orders. Since I had not heard back from you or anyone else at Blue Sheep or received an invoice since you spoke to my daughter on 2/27, by 4/2 it was pretty clear that you had no intention of making our cake. As my daughter's birthday was approaching, it also meant that we would not have time to request a custom cake from anywhere else. I mentioned in my text that at first we were worried something had happened to you, but then we noticed that Blue Sheep was making social media posts nearly every day. Your response to my text did not come across as a heartfelt apology, but I appreciate your latest apology. At first this felt like such a positive experience, but it turned so sour.I understand that life gets hectic, as we have been feeling the same way this year. Congrats to your son on his graduation! For current and future customers, I recommend that at the very least you set up an auto reply that you WILL respond to all calls and emails. Even if you simply didn't have the time to take our request, I would have been satisfied with a response that you are just too busy with other orders. read more

I dropped by Blue Sheep Bake Shop to grab a little sweet treat for the holiday break! I got a couple of things and this is my breakdown: Vanilla Macarons- 5/5. These were probably the best macarons I've ever had. They were fluffy and soft. The filling inside was light and delicious. Strawberry Champagne Cupcake- 10000/5. Honestly, I've never had a cupcake taste this good. The champagne flavoring in the batter was prominent and the frosting was a great fruity touch. This cupcake came together so well and was extremely unique. I could eat these all day! Boston Creme Cupcake- 3.5/5. The bottom part of the cupcake tasted fabulous along with the filling but the frosting was a little too dense for me. It was a chocolate covered icing ball. This might be good for those with a big sweet tooth though! Red Velvet Cupcake- 4/5. The bottom was nice and chocolatey while the icing was fluffy! I prefer a less chocolate based red velvet cake with a cream cheese based frosting but that's just a personal preference. This was very well made. Lemon Raspberry Margarita Cupcake- 4.5/5. Another unique experience from Blue Sheep. The decorations were adorable on this one. I wish there had been more of a margarita flavor to the batter but I loved the raspberry and lemon together. It was a great refereeing combination. Blue Sheep definitely knows what they are doing with their baked goods so make sure to check it out! read more

Nice bakery located in a great spot. I stopped in and ordered the lemon raspberry ice cream. The small cup was pretty big. Loved it. Sadly, there was only one vegan flavor - I was super excited, till I realized it had caffeine in it. Sadly I'm lactose intolerant and I have a heart condition, resulting in zero consumption of caffeine. I opted for the dairy ice cream. Small price to pay for a great tasting sweet treat. You can tell it is homemade - absolutely delicious. Not much space inside to dine and not public restroom. Overall nice spot to stop in on a walk. Enjoyed it! read more

I had the pleasure of having Blue Sheep Bake shop's gluten-free cupcakes. The natural flavors surprised me. It was nice to get icing without the harmful dye's that so many manufacturer's put in our food these days. This was a plus to the cupcake being gluten-free. It tasted incredible. So many people are allergic to wheat nowadays. It's nice to see a business that cares. The staff is very helpful & friendly. If you are in Somerville, it's worth the trip. My wife and I have visited a few times and picked up a few small treats here and there. We've always enjoyed what we've eaten, just wished we lived about 15 minutes closer! I picked up a box of cupcakes here and they were decent. There are some interesting flavors like chai, sangria, and pina colada cupcakes. I wasn't a fan of the Strawberries and Champagne cupcake as it tasted just like a plain yellow cake cupcake with strawberry frosting (1 star off), but the others were good: Chai, Peanut Butter Cup, and Death by Chocolate. read more

I came here to get a present for one of my customers and to try out the cupcakes here as well. They did not seem to have much customers in the shop while I was in there deciding on what to get. The staff: They looked like they need more energy but they seem to be very friendly. Apple Pie Cupcake: The toppings on the apple pie cupcake were bland with no taste at all. It had too much dough and not enough of the filling on the inside of the cupcake. Overall: I do not know if I would come back to give this bakery another try as it was disappointing for a first time. I had a higher expectation for this bakery and it was not what I had expected it to be. read more
