My favorite location in my hometown of Pittsburg. The atmosphere is very friendly. The food is delicious. The environment is a home to anyone in the bay. And they have daily specials that change everyday! I always go for food on their secret menu that you can see on their Instagram or their daily specials. Normally I get sisig fries, candy fried chicken, short ribs, or the donut burger when they have it! Their desserts are equally as good and they have so much to choose from that it's honestly a difficult choice to chose every time I go. The reviews were on hit. I tried the garlic noodles with tiger prawns and the candy chicken. I am a fan of garlic so the noodles meet my exception. Not to dry or too oily. I wish I would have paid attention that the glaze on the shrimp was saucy. I love the fact that the shrimp were fresh. They candy wings are like no other. Never had such a flavor in my life. The wings were not dried out or over cooked. It was enough food to share for two at a good price. The place is inimate so you might want to order it to go. I God the This Iced Tea with light ice. I want to update my review bec I am seeing a decline in reviews and I really love Blue Saigon. I have experienced recently a changed in service and quality over the last few months but just this week I went back 06/03/22 around 3pm and the service was great. I don't know who was at the counter but she gave excellent service with accurate wait time. Got my usual noodles and shrimp within 20 min as expected. It may seem like the quality in food has changed but I don't think it has much. Having to wait till I get home to eat it definitely makes a difference since I feel Blue Saigon's food doesn't travel well and I miss being able to eat it right away so I'm going to settle with eating in my car be nice to service workers bec everyone is short staffed. Being a hostile customer will only give workers a harder time to confidently communicate proper wait times. If it's busy, it's busy, what did you expect ?‍ read more

You know, out in the Tri Delta area there aren't too many original restaurants that serve something fresh and new. I've had fusion food in SF before and was so upset when I stopped working in the City because I thought it meant that I would have to commute to get it. Then BAM! Social media showed me the light! I was so amazed by the detail and presentation of the food. My first time here, I got the candy fried chicken. I love me some friend chicken, it's in my DNA. Anyway, I'm continuously blown away by this restaurant. I am sad to say that I have been here on two occasions and neither of them have been very productive. The first time I went in they were out of everything that I wanted to order that I had read about on Yelp. Therefore, I left the first time with nothing to eat. It would have been nice if they had posted what they were out of because I waited in a long line and it was very hot inside. I left very irritated. Recently I went in and it was about lunch time, yep again they were out of what I went there for. If you are known for your Sigsig with pork belly you should probably plan ahead for it. Of course, they were out of pork belly. So I ordered the Candy Fried Chicken Wings with Garlic Fries. For 8 chicken wings, garlic fries, water and a Thai Tea it was just over $17 dollars. That is a lot of money for very little food. I will say that the fries were phenomenal and my garlic breath afterwards could have destroyed a vampire or two. I shared the wings with a friend and she did not like them, I thought they were fine but I would not go back and order them again. I took them home and had them as a late night snack, they were good but not my favorite. What I really want is the darn Sigsig with pork belly. Do I call ahead, do I drive out again and hope for the best? Is the third time a charm? Its just so hot inside and such a small area to wait or let alone sit in. My last word of encouragement to the staff is maybe a smile wouldn't kill you when you tell someone you are out of pork belly, or a welcome smile would just be as nice. read more

Honestly I wanted to really like this place but it was just ok. I ordered the chicken banh mi $5 and my sister ordered the garlic noodles with glazed prawns $10. I think mainly what I didn't like about my chicken banh mi was that it was shredded chicken and the bread didn't taste freshly baked. Grilled chicken with there sauce would have been better along with freshly baked bread. My sister liked her noodles and prawns however, was disappointed with the portion, just 5 shrimp. And the shrimp came with the skin when she was hoping for a more sweet honey glazed coating. There service was really friendly, defiantly family owned. The cashier noticed I was curious about the shaved ice as he heard me discuss it with my sister so he offered us samples which lead me to buy a scoop lol really good shaved ice ! It's a nice little spot that's fairly easy to find considering it's on one of the busiest streets in Pittsburg. The decor, friendly service, and overall atmosphere gives off a great vibe. I tried it for the first time with my friend and we got a spicy chicken taco, tempura fried tilapia taco, the spicy chicken banh mi I believe, and garlic noodles.... Before I knew I could get them for free by checking in. Boo. Haha Anywho, the food came out in due time and the presentation of each dish looked very appealing which was a plus. However, I was not impressed. I had read many reviews raving about this place prior to trying it out myself and was expecting so much more. The chicken used in the food honestly made me sick to my stomach. I had to pull some out of the sandwich to down a bite. I feel I could've made the garlic noodles myself. The tempura fried tilapia taco wasn't as bad and was ultimately the only thing I could finish. So impressed by these guys. Little tiny place started with a food truck. Doing everything right! I've been enjoying their different Pork Belly specials for a few years now. Gotta give credit to a chef that respects "the pork belly"! Perfect crisp with perfect melt in your mouth fat. The love started with their Pork Belly slider and continued with Pork Belly Tacos, Burritos and Banh Mi. SISIG SISIG SISIG... Why am I so late to this party?! Their SISIG Fries unbelievably tasty. The crunch, the cheese the spice the vinegary tangy porky bits on top... Yep those are good... One last thing. Last week Joslyn (she's an employee of Blue Saigon and a new friend of mine) so last week she shared their Candy Wings, OMG. Candied wings, you think sticky sweet wings, oh NO. Their food is good but waited an hour outside For food when we were quoted 30 min. Plus they raised prices again. Feeding a family of 4 came to $72.00 for wings and noodles. Then I go all the way home starving to notice they forgot to pack my sons dinner! Called to let them know of the error! I had to wait another 30 min for my forgotten 8 piece wing order! My husband, daughter & I visited this place today for lunch. We ordered quite a few things as our eyes were way bigger than our stomachs and everything sounded so good! (Especially after looking through all the pictures & reviews here on yelp on our way over there!) My husband ordered the warrior dog and the sisik fries. We got an order of pot stickers and prawn garlic noodles for our daughter and I ordered the pulled pork burritto and fried tilapia taco. We all shared and wound up taking most of the food home as the portions are large, and we couldn't finish it all! The warrior dog was so/so in my opinion. Sisik fries were good, but they are spicy and I'm not a big spicy person so I let my hubby eat those and he loved them! Pot stickers were delicious! I'm pretty sure they're deep fried & served with a really good sauce on top which is a way I've never had them prepared but i loved them. Tilapia taco was good. And unfortunately by the time i got to trying my pulled pork burritto it was cold so i don't think i could judge Farley but I'm going to heat it up for dinner tonight so I'll let you know! And last, the prawn garlic noodles.. i found the noodles to taste very buttery and they sit heavy in your stomach, huge flavor here.. reminds me almost of an Italian recipe in flavor, actually.. We came on a Saturday afternoon and ordered a tilapia Saigon fried rice burrito, candy wings, cream fried potstickers, trio of tacos, and garlic noodles. Total came to around $26 and the garlic noodles were free with the yelp check in. The cream fried potstickers were a bit heavy, but tasty. The garlic noodles were appropriately garlicky and the candy chicken sweet and crispy. Of the three tacos, the tilapia and pulled pork was best. The spicy chicken was pretty good though, too. As for the tilapia burrito, it was a good fusion of Mexican and Vietnamese with the fried rice, cilantro, cheese and fish. Very good overall and I'll be back! read more

Came here with the family last night - all i gotta say is Bomb diggity! I gave up red meat for lent, so as of right now I'm speaking for the chicken/fish dishes. Which is freakin bomb. Their candy chicken, I must've dreamt about eating that when i went to bed. Love the fusion tacos, there was a literal party goin on in my tummy. The crunch from the veggies in the tacos and burritos make it all the better. Oh and the bread on there banh mi, so soft which isn't very typical. Garlic noodles are yummy, better than most restaurant with garlic noodles. Workers are friendly, small joint but it's good we just gotta roll 15 deep or less LOL. Big ups to this small business though, they did not disappoint one bit. I even loved the background music. Straight island reggae while you're biting into some good eats! Overall the experience was superb, the food even better. The ambience, perfect. I'll probably be here once maybe twice a week. Trust, it's new, it's different and I swear I've been waiting for that pho place to open on Leland. My suggestion to them, don't even open. Y'all is laggin, and BLUE SAIGON is massively taking over. Got 2 thai tea to go. They charges .50 for no ice and .25 for light ice without letting you know there is extra charge. I just found out after I read my receipt... Been going here for a few years now. I used to work a few blocks away and BS would be my go to spot at least 2 times a week. Food is consistently great every time I go. The staff is friendly, attentive and moves with purpose. I had the pleasure of meeting the owners and could tell right of the bat that they are passionate about there business. I usually do a Warrior dog and some garlic noodles. The wings are good as well and I personally like the fact that they are all wingettes. Sadly I don't make it out to Pittsburg very much these days but when I do I always make it a point to stop in and support a great local business. read more
