My spouse knows the internet will come back eventually (and it's still an issue so they get no leeway from me and we're paying almost $400 a month (it includes HBO ($17) and HDTV. TRY ANY OTHER SERVICE BEFORE THIS COMPANY. IT'S BAD in every way. Support, when not local, most of the time has no clue what they're even talking about. We have 3 tvs and 2 are within 20' or less of the modem/router on 2nd floor. 2nd floor tvs do the same thing - they drop the internet (and it may be throttling by astound, I don't know). One tv got moved from one room on the 1st floor into a fairly open are in a room right across from the room it was in for 7 years. They changed how the screen (tv) is viewed and it cuts off part of the screen with the FF, rewind, pause. It's annoying and interferes when I'm trying to read something. It does a weird auto rewind too many times and I'm pressing the right button. When I go back into the show, I often have to ff it to where I think I left off. rcn, do this ten times in 30 minutes and tell me how you feel. I'm ready to throw something at rcn/astound (not our tv). The signal on the internet drops too much on all tvs. I had a recorded show on and it kept coming up with three circles (so the internet usually drops when that happens and in ten minutes, I've had to disconnect the damn internet and reconnect it again 4 x). I changed rooms and tvs. rcn/astound/jackie don't respond to this - words are bogus as is the name. I went from being frustrated a lot to being frustrated and angry with the company every time I try to watch tv. I'm one person out of two and my vote for about 8 years has been to ditch the company. That's the only reason it's still here.

The installment team…read moreand people who set up everything were very professional respectful polite and understanding especially when it came to billing as the billing dates were different from one company to another which can cause as it caused me to be late on a payment.. I was told if I made a certain amount of the payment I would not be in shut off notice. When I call today to confirm I would pay my bill before the 1st or just on the 1st and then catch up with it they said this time it was too late the woman got belligerent and told me I had to pay late fees on a bill from January when they do not start charging late fees until after February 22nd. Despite trying to explain this to her she could not understand what I was saying and it's forcing me now to once I pay them off to leave completely and find someone who has proper respectful competent and understanding staff who answer the phones and serve their customers.. Since I received it I've had to call them several times about poor reception freezing up of stations and until this day I cannot access my messages I am a senior with multiple hospital appointments I cannot verify because I cannot access my voice messages yet they get to be belligerent with me on the phone.. For the most part all the employees other than this one were excellent employees and I'll see how things go but as it seems now it looks like I'll be leaving after I pay them off probably a new service in March my recommendations is think before you take this service though they may have some good employees they are not willing to understand especially if you're transferring over from a company they acquired

    I would give them less than 1 star if I could. I am so happy I moved away from the overpriced…read moremonopoly they have on internet in Monroe county. The prices are high, quality is okay I guess if you consider good quality internet to mean you pay a lot for speeds they never meet. To top off this long history of them ripping me off I canceled my service and had to pay for two months extra because they lost all info on me calling to cancel my service. They left my internet running in a house I sold with no modem and no data flow that I canceled and charged me any way. This business is a disgrace and I hope someone comes in and undercuts you and puts you out of business.

    I don't use their TV service but I have been a cable internet subscriber of theirs for well over 10…read moreyears. I get great internet service with almost no interruptions since I've had it. As the competition gets into this area they raise their speeds in the package that you have. They no longer "rent" hardware. They recently "loaned" me a new modem and two Eero routers for free. I would give their internet service 5 stars. I'm dropping 2 stars based on the Ephrata physical office. They're only open a few days a week so of course the lines an get long at the two windows they have. Nothing is automated. To get the modems and router I had to wait for a woman who had question after question and the window person kept adding ideas. She literally held up one line for 30 minutes while the other window slowly digested the other line. Then to get the router I have to fill out a card with the same address and phone information as they should already have on my account. This includes a field for Social Security Number - SSN is not an ID number and I would have to trust their database folks to keep it safe. Nope. Then I have to turn the card over and fill in my name and sign it again. Not a huge deal but I have an account with them, can't they simply log the device serial numbers? Plus, I'm pretty quick, I watched an elderly lady take over 5 minutes just to fill in the card. It would be super easy to improve that process. I hope I don't have to go in there again any time soon.
