Mr. Ortiz and his employee did $2300 in damage to my vehicle rendering it useless when all I needed was a new key cut in programmed. After three days of trying to make a new tea Mr. Ortiz advise me it needed to go to the dealer. Once it arrived at the dealer, it was determined that my dash cluster was damaged, the locks that Mr. Ortiz changed were not the appropriate ones for my vehicle. The ignition switch was damaged and the key that he attempted to program was just a hollow shell with no circuit board or guts. When confronted with the information from the dealership, Mr. Ortiz refused to cover the damage he did, and then began to deny that he damaged the car. Chris is punctual, honest, very pleasant, and above all, really good at what he's doing. It's a Schlage passcode lock with deadbolt that ran out of battery, but he figured it out without having to drill the lock and change to a new one (which would have cost me $500+ according to a previous locksmith). Called to get my locks changed said that they would come the next day in am. Received a call at 10:46 saying that they were about one hour to an hour and 15 minutes away. When he arrived he only had one type of locks to show me and put on. I was not happy as all my locks are the same color. I then told him that the locks had to be able to use the same key. Either he didn't hear or listen after the locks were on the key didn't fit. I told him to remove then and put the old locks back on. Then the boss called me and said to pay for the service call and that would come the next day at 10 and put the right locks on. He never showed. So now they have my money and I have nothing to show for it.This is Fraud. read more

Our front door was practically useless as we had been having issues with the lock for the past couple of months. There were days were we couldn't open the door at all. Oh My Goodness! Pocono Locksmith saved me! I lost my car keys and they came in 15 minutes to let me in, made an additional car key and was even able to copy a couple of house key for me as well!! Locksmith was called in to replace front door lock. He said that he would be in the next day in the afternoon (Wednesday). On Wednesday I called him about 3 PM, and he said was running late will call when on way. At 7:50 I texted himto see what happened. It is now Thursday at 6:50 and he never responded. Called based on a recommendation(local hardware store gave me business card knowing what I needed done) and voicemail was full so I could not leave a message. I run two successful businesses. I'm a retired veteran. I served in the U.S. Marines and U.S. Army. I gave this man my info over the phone the day before yesterday. He said he would be by to re-key my locks in the afternoon sometime the next day. The afternoon came and I called at 1:30 p.m. to see if we were still good to go. I told him my name and address to confirm he was coming to my property. He said, "I will call you back in five minutes." Never called back, not even with a courtesy call or an update. Prompt and fair, did a great job installing a keypad lock on a house I just purchased. Would definitely recommend.

First of all, I'm a retired police chief and highly recommend Chris to do any locksmithing that needs to be done. I had lost my spare key at Cabelas over the weekend and only had one key fob left. I called Chris after several days of not finding the key and he met me with his mobile van. In under 10 minutes Chris had "laser" cut my key fob and I now had 2 extras. Every dealer I called for my chevy equinox wanted over $200 just for one key to cut and program them which they said would take at least 1 hour. I purchased the 2 keys on Amazon ($26) and had them the next day. Because I had my own keys Chris charged me way less then $100 to cut these 2 keys, 2 keys, get that? He also showed me how to re-program the keys for the car, which, check this out....took 30 seconds for each key. These dealers rip us off when it comes to something simple as replacing keys. I could not be happier than to have Pocono Locksmith as my new go-to-guy for any lock needs. Not only that, he is a very personable person and makes you feel as if you have known him forever. In this covid climate he was also very careful when dealing with him. I'm writing this because in over 38 yrs. as an officer, he takes his work and apparently his customers far beyond others. Chris R. replaced our garage door opener last month when the motor died. He and the guy with him (didn't get his card) did an excellent job, cleaned up after themselves and took away the old garage door opener. Our new garage door opener is super quiet. They finished the job within the time estimated and we received an excellent price (after some negotiation). Chris did a fantastic job showing me how to program the wall switch to take advantage of the new features like auto close with a time delay and it's app enabled which is an added bonus. I had to take one star away only because they were so booked with other appointments that we had to wait a couple of weeks before they were able to get to our job. Yelp saved the day again! Found this place on Yelp when my younger brother in high school lost his car keys during his after prom trip while out of state. The guy who came worked with him to cut a key on the spot. It took him about an hour to get to his location, which was quick. He has a 2010 Hyundai Genesis coupe and the man was able to accommodate him at a pretty reasonable price. We were thankful they were able to help us out right away without any issues. read more

Set up an appointment which was confirm via Yelp last Friday May 8th , for Monday May 11th between 12:00 -2:00 PM. No one showed up so I called the 24/7 phone number to find out what had happened at 2:00. The man I talked to said have to check with the Technician to see if he was running late. By 2:30 pm and technician called and said the the one who was suppose to come was sick and couldn't ( they didn't know this bu noon_yea right. ). This is the second locksmith recommended on Yelp to me and they were both no-shows. I guess being a locksmith is big business with lots of work to be so bogged down.
