Two car dealerships in the Lehigh Valley offered *two* expensive options for making a key for my…read more2012 Mazda 2. Steve Knauss offered a 3rd inexpensive option in addition to the two higher priced options. He volunteered information concerning a third, $4.00 option. The car dealerships withheld information concerning the third, $4.00 option. The dealer offered a (1) $160.00 option and a (2) $100.00 option. So, when I visited Knauss & son, I fully prepared myself to make the $100.00 purchase of the second key option. But Steve K. said that I could get a limited function key that costs only $4.00 Steve explained that the $4.00 key will only unlock the doors, but it will not start the vehicle. In some circumstances, that's good enough. I appreciated Steve's honesty so much that I bought *both* the limited function key for $4.00 and the fuller function key for $85.00, which is $15.00 less than the dealer quoted! Knauss & Son charged me only $85.00 for the fuller function key, but the dealerships wanted $100.00. The fuller function key both unlocks the doors and starts the vehicle allowing you to drive it. In the past, I have used Knauss & Son to make all my keys for other vehicles, apartment doors, etc. Don't waste your time going anywhere else. You get quality workmanship, fair treatment, and honorable service from Knauss & Son.

Had a backup key fob replaced and programmed 10 months ago by this company. Never used the key fob…read moreas it was a backup. Had to use it for the first time the other day and the battery was dead. Replaced the battery and the key fob lit up but did not work. Reached out to the text message from a person named Ben who was the tech who came to my house to replace the key fob. Told me he would have to check to see if anybody was in the area that could check it out for me and that he would get back to me shortly. Waited 3 hours, called the main number at Ryan Locksmith and was told that a tech would return my call. Got a call from a guy who spoke broken English which I ended up hanging up on because I couldn't understand a word he was saying. Text this other person back by the name of Ben who said he's a freelancer and had no idea what company I was even referring to. So apparently this company doesn't have their own set staff. The key fob that I bought last year and had programmed has been junk since the moment the guy handed it over. The back of it fell off a few weeks after even having it and now it doesn't even work at all. Ended up going to another locksmith yesterday who said that the key fob just doesn't lose programming when the battery needs changed and told me that I had a bad key fob. This other company replaced the bad key fob with a new one, programmed it, and cut the key for half of the cost of Ryan Locksmith. This company is a joke - an absolute complete waste of time and money! Customers beware!!!

Was afraid to bend in back into place as it would definitely have snapped. Took it over to this place and spoke with Bill. He tried to bend it back into place and as suspected, it snapped. He managed to make me a matching copy with some effort. So i had him make me an additional one in case i had another moment of idiocy. Also had him make me another copy of my car key and program me another remote fob for backup. Great workmanship. Really nice guy, personable and trustworthy. I was surprised at how difficult it was to locate a local Allentown locksmith (one which was listed as being in Allentown was actually in Nazareth!) and was thrilled to find Bob. He quoted me a flat fee over the phone which I thought was reasonable, gave me a 20-minute ETA but arrived shortly after 30 minutes which still wasn't bad, and was able to get me into my house in about 5-7 minutes.
