I have been ignored by Jose and the management team for over a week despite my repeated attempts to resolve a botched installation. I grew up the granddaughter of a Stone Mason; I know quality work, and I know when a company is taking shortcuts. I specifically chose my stone because I was told it would NOT require a seam. Later in the process, the story changed. It became clear they simply didn't want to deal with the labor-intensive task of maneuvering a large slab into place--a job that might have required a minor wall repair but would have resulted in the superior finish I paid for. I only begrudgingly agreed to a seam because they promised it would be executed perfectly. My original fears were justified: it was a disaster. The issues: * Poor Craftsmanship: The seam is recessed and uneven. It is a functional defect that collects debris and requires constant scrubbing. * Lack of Effort: While I understand vein matching is difficult, there was clearly no attempt at a professional transition here. It stands out like a sore eye. * Dismissive Management: After a failed "repair" (just smeared epoxy), the stone manager told me "nothing more can be done." In an era of digital fabrication, that is a flat-out lie. I would never dream of treating my own clients with this level of neglect. If the check has cleared, Factory Plaza is finished with you. The only reason I am giving two stars instead of one is because the kitchen island turned out well and Gina in the front office was a sweetheart who went above and beyond to try and remedy the situation. It's a shame the owners and management don't share her work ethic. They desperately need professional development in customer service and quality control. Spoke to Irene Lopez and went down the next day. She showed me my "chosen" Terrazura and also had another slab she thought would work. Both slabs looked great with my flooring, cabinet and paint colors. I went with the Terrazura and everything continued to go smoothly through installation. I'm beyond thrilled with my new kitchen and love my quartz. Highly recommend Factory Plaza! And big thanks to Irene for seeing my vision and Alex for a flawless installation. I've forgotten the name of the gentleman who measured but he made a suggestion to add a strip of the quartz behind my stove and it made the whole look so custom. So highly recommend!

Well we needed their help with a new dishwasher that needed to be screwed into the quartz rather than the sides of the cabinet. Abt installed the dishwasher and due to a vent under the peninsula could not push the dw back far enough so it would have to be secured from the top and they wisely would not drill into the quartz. We called Anna at Art Granite and asked for help and of course Art was ready to help us out. He got the job done and for a very reasonable honest charge. If you need countertops and are thinking not interested in any big box stores, think Art Granite in Schaumburg, they go all over and are the most honest and professional anywhere!!! Gave rough estimates to Kasia, we selected a quartz and waited to have the final measurements done prior to fabrication. No calls, no information we called several times the day before to be told we never confirmed after they left messages. Now we're pushed back a week. We confirmed that we will be home all day, however, again no one shows up! Another week goes by, we call the day before, and that morning and yes, we're on the schedule. They measure, and we'll have new cabinets the following week. Nope no install no calls, only after I call to find out that the piece we selected was too small. When I asked for my money back, because you have to pay in full to get on the schedule, that they don't do any returns but would consider it but it would cost me $250. At this point we decided they already have our money, so we go to select a granite, which Kasia says is cheaper, but still costs us another $100. The cut the piece, come out to install it, (3 weeks later) and on May 10th we get our cabinets delivered and installed. They look gorgeous, however when they measured the back splash flush against our in wall mirrored medicine cabinet so there isn't enough room for anyone to put their hand between the backsplash and the cabinets to open the doors. We call Kasia again to be told that for them to come out remove the piece would be $500 but if my husband removes it, delivers to them they would have it done in 1 day no charge. That was 3 days ago, and it's still not done. I'm even concerned about posting this until I have the backsplash returned, which we have to pick up and install ourselves, at risk of having our backsplash held hostage. I'm only posting so I can possibly help 1 person from making an error in purchasing from them.

Some helpful hints based on our experience: 1. A big countertop dealer like MSI, located in Elk Grove Village, has a very large showroom where you can see the full countertop slabs. We had some preferences based on the web site pictures and the little quartz samples, but ended up selecting a different slab once we were in the showroom. You really want to see the full countertop slabs before your decision is finalized. 2. We were really disappointed with the Home Depot service, which is The Countertop Factory - Midwest. There was an extremely hard sell visit to our house and a take-it-or-leave it price. 3. Many quartz countertop installation services want you to select quartz they already have in stock. Davan let us shop around and we selected an MSI countetop, which MSI already had in stock. Our job therefore proceeded quickly from final slab selection to installation (less than two weeks). 4. I was unnecessarily nervous about our kitchen tile backsplash when our old formica countertops were replaced with new quartz countertops. We wanted to retain the old kitchen backsplash. That was not a problem and the installation occurred smoothly.

I've been thinking of remodeling my kitchen for at least 10 years. The process started by sitting…read moredown at Lowe's with one of their kitchen designers and getting a free layout and cabinet estimate. Over the next 10 years I took that Lowe's layout to no less than a dozen cabinet companies to get their pricing. The pricing always came in around $10,000+ (except for one importer who sold cheap, rather than good cabinets in a limited number of styles and colors. None of which we liked.) Then a month ago, driving north on Gary avenue in Carol Stream I just happened to spot this place and thought I'd try again to price out the Lowe's design because we were now ready to do something. I went into the place and immediately started walking around. I didn't wait for a sales person because I wasn't sure if I'd like the place and didn't want some fast-talking salesman to start accosting me for my business. I'd looked for a few minutes before I was approached by Jim, a pleasant older gentleman. He was nice so I told him what I was looking for and we casually discussed a few options. I told him I had the Lowe's kitchen design and he said he'd be happy to price it out with the cabinets I liked (he didn't want to see their pricing). I emailed him the design minus the prices and he came back with some design drawings. We talked some more over email and I asked him to stop by my house to see my kitchen. He did and we had a great conversation and we got ideas for other ways to do the kitchen. After looking at the kitchen, Jim put together everything we liked, added in the monthly manufacturer promotions, and ended up THOUSANDS less than any other quality cabinet place. So today we visited the showroom to go over every part of the cabinet order before putting down a deposit. After all was said and done, even after we added many pullout drawers, did some upgrading and getting some trim pieces (not on the original Lowe's design), he beat my 10 year old barebones Lowe's kitchen design price by over $1,500! I can't recommend Jim and this place strongly enough. (I'll let you know if things don't go smoothly once we receive the cabinets.)

A friend heard good things about KB&B so I made an appointment and met with Kim. I cannot say enough positive comments about her. She took the time to listen to what we wanted, looked at pics of our current bathroom, and was very direct with what could and could not be done given our dimensions and budget. She was very professional and we left the store confident we were headed in the right direction. Mario (owner) came out a few days later to measure and take pics. He was professional and also straight to the point. The quote was a bit higher than we had hoped, but we felt good about the design and items we selected. Items were ordered and Kim kept us updated on their status since it was several months before they could even start constructions. Once they started, we realized why they cost a little more than the average Joe contractor. Every contractor (4 different guys) were each phenomenal. They treated our home like it was theirs. They were all very clean, very detailed, and they ended up doing a few extra repairs outside of the contract (with my permission). Kris was the main contractor and was here the most and I would give him more than 5 stars. The painter is expertly skilled and I can't tell where the drywall repairs were done. The crew also was very careful around our dogs and didn't leave any doors open. The final project exceeded our expectations. We noticed a few paint touch ups that were needed and Mario sent someone out - a week after the job was done and the check was cashed. They all take pride in their work and I feel really wanted to do whatever they could to have me as a satisfied customer. Make an appointment, rather than just walking in - Kim is busy. Bring in pics and measurements if you can to help her out. They won't be the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. I would hire KB&B again and encourage everyone reading this to check them out.

The employee put the sink on backwards. He had to rip it off and put it back on again. He did not do a good job as it shifted off of the countertop on our way home. Plus there wasn't a good amount of sealant or whatever between the sink and the countertop. I reached out to Victor and told him, sent pictures per his request and no response. Reached out six days later and still no response. Even got a read receipt from his iPhone saying he read it. Had to remove the sink ourselves and found the sink was defective with a bump in the porcelain plus his employee got adhesive, (like caulk but nothing would take it off), on the porcelain. Had to order a new sink. As my spouse and I were installing the sink correctly, we realized Victor's employee had cut it wrong. The unfinished side with the side splash should have been seven inches and the finished side should be six, (as it's not against a wall). Instead the unfinished side is six and the finished side is seven. With the side splash on it looks ridiculous and uneven. I messaged Victor, (no idea if that's even his real name), though Facebook messenger and he wasn't responding even though I could see he was reading my messages. When I said he doesn't care because he had his money he sent me a message back that made no sense and blocked me. Absolutely will not recommend. Avoid at all costs.
