If 10 stars and Exceptional was an option on Yelp that would be my rating for Blue Moon. I had the BEST experience each step of the way with everyone at Blue Moon and am so happy with the finished product! I could not be happier. The team goes way above and beyond. It is apparent how they care about the quality of work and that things are done the right way. They also work so well together as a team! Such a nice mix of professionalism and friendliness. We had a fantastic experience working with Blue Moon to build out our dream office + a second office/guest room with murphy bed and custom barn doors. This was a big project for us, so we took our time and talked with all of the top-rated vendors in the bay area. We are *so* glad we went with Blue Moon and I'm sure you will be too. Their team (Matt, Robert, Uke, and Candy) were stellar. The designs were both highly functional and visually beautiful. Craftsmanship was impeccable. And their excellent customer service was always on display throughout the entire process. They take great pride in their craft and great care of their customers. Thanks, Blue Moon! read more

I did a lot of due diligence and contacted 4 different companies, but Blue Moon's history & knowledge in industry, quality, responsiveness, fair pricing, and customization in design sold me for our custom closets! Their quality is comparable or superior to Container Store and California Closets, yet no design is complete until you are fully and ultimately satisfied. We went thru 1-2 additional iterations, and they were super accommodating, flexible, and easy to work with. We really enjoyed working with Candy, Matt, and Uke and highly recommend them to all of our friends! From the moment Candy volunteered to ship me hard samples in the mail and Matt answered all of my annoying questions in their shop, I could tell that they really care about going the extra mile for their clients. read more

I reached out to BMC 2 years ago for a project for our master closet. However, due to the pandemic our project got significantly delayed and BMC was understanding and patient through it all. We ended up expanding our project with them to include the master closet, pantry, shoe cabinet, bathroom and a half closet. Their prices were just unbeatable and the designs were fantastic. Post installation, I found a mistake on my part and they were incredibly accommodating and fixed it for a very reasonable price. Candy, Robert, Matt & Uke are an epic team. Their work is phenomenal and would happily recommend them. read more

I requested a complimentary in-home consultation from Blue Moon Closet Systems. I unfortunately forgot the name of the person who did the consultation. But he came early, which was fine because I work within walking distance from my home. But I think he was focused on the parking meter because he seemed to rush the consultation. Luckily my walk-in closet isn't very large. We went over my needs and he took measurements. After it was over, I realized I didn't say I needed short hangs. So I went to their website and obtained an e-mail address. After working with attorneys for several years, I've come to prefer to have everything in writing. So I wrote that I needed short hangs, and to contact me if I needed anything. He said he'd provide the blueprints within a week. A week passed. Then another week. Then another. Then another. I never heard from him again. Not a call, not an e-mail. I ended up buying from another company. It seems like everyone else who reviewed got a call back except for me. Was my small walk-in not worth it the money they'd get from me? Perhaps. But it's still a sale.. I guess we'll never know. **UPDATE** They sent me a message stating they e-mailed me the quotes twice. But they had the wrong address. Though, as stated in my review, I did e-mail them independently on the same day of the consultation, and there was no reply. But I do appreciate their recent message. read more

If I could give Blue Moon 10+ stars, I would. I had a Murphy Bed and side cabinet made and installed for the second time (I now have two units in my condo) and I couldn't be happier. Besides a quality product that was built to order, the customer service was outstanding! Candy, the telephone customer service rep was cheerful and accommodating and the installers were very professional and quiet while doing the installation. They went out of their way to accommodate my requests to help move furniture before installation, switched the mattresses between the two murphy beds, and did some minor repair on my first unit. I had to leave in the afternoon for an appointment and when I returned that evening, everything was in perfect order. Blue Moon you are over the top and I can't thank you enough. Because of you, I have my own Woman Cave and I love it. read more

After using Blue Moon Closet Systems for multiple projects of my own and referring them to clients, I have to say their work is top-notch and the team is professional, courteous, and easy to work with. Most recently, they created a custom wine credenza for me and it turned out great. Although, there were a few scheduling/communication issues along the way (mainly due to COVID-related process disruptions), the team was very apologetic and worked hard to make sure everything turned out satisfactorily in the end. I'd definitely use them again and recommend to others. read more

BMCS is an excellent alternative to larger companies like California Closets, Closet World and so on. Their communication, design and installation services are top notch. They converted two nearly useless closets into really effective spaces for our clothes, using high quality materials and precise workmanship. And the turnaround time was quite reasonable. Highly recommended! read more

I am so happy with my closet installation from Blue Moon. I did my research and met with a few companies before making my decision to go with them. Blue Moon had the best design at the best value. The whole process from initial appointment to installation was easy, and I really appreciated how communicative they were every step of the way. Shoutout to Candy! If you are looking for friendly service, a comprehensive closet solution and not having to break the bank, Blue Moon is your best bet! read more

Uke came to measure, and Anskar and team came to install a few items: Upstairs bedroom closet Entryway shoe closet Metal sheet (attach to wall) to place notes with magnets (my fridge is not magnetic). Coat hangers, Ikea shelves The metal sheet was very interesting. Blue Moon Closets doesn't do sheet metal (duh), but Uke says, "I know a guy..." And he made the sheet metal thing happen. Love that. The measurements and considerations were very thoughtful. There was a hole for the fire sprinklers, and cut outs for our outlets, etc. The upstairs closet was tricky. So apparently they had to cut away the moulding/trimming joining the wall and the floor to get things to fit. Problem was, no one never told me first, and after the initial work there were two long slits or openings where the flooring didn't meet the wall (I have floating floors) where the moulding used to be. I think because I wasn't expecting them to cut the moulding, I was initially very worried and freaked out a little bit. Fortunately Anskar kept the moulding, sanded them down a bit, and were able to cover the slits. And I'm really happy with the results. The quality of work is wonderful. And I'm very picky. I think something broke down in the communication, but fortunately due to Anskar's skills all is well at the end. Every time I look at my closets a feeling of content washes over me. I didn't know closets could make me that happy! THAT is why I rated them 5 stars. read more

I love working with the people at Blue Moon Closets. My wife and I worked with them in 2016 to add closet space to our storage-deprived condo and we loved the results. They just completed a job where they did 3 closets, and entryway bench/shoe storage, and a laundry folding table/storage for us and we are again 100% happy we went with Blue Moon. The whole team of Uke, Matt, Candy, and are friendly, professional, and really worked with us to customize some beautiful solutions to our closets. They use quality materials, the closets look great, the drawers and doors work perfectly, and every step of the way Blue Moon worked with us with personal care to make sure the process worked for us. During the consultation phase they really worked with us to understand our needs and then provided some great options for each space. They thought of things that we wouldn't have, and did multiple reviews to make sure what we were getting would be exactly right for us. During installation, they were super flexible making the timing work for us. I highly recommend working with Blue Moon Closets. read more

We had our master closet redone by Blue Moon Closets a few years ago and were very happy. We realized yesterday that a piece of clothing had gotten stuck in the drawer slide. I called the co. on a Sat (they are supposedly closed) hoping to leave a message for help. Someone picked up, gave the phone to Uke, the owner, who said he'd be over in 10 minutes to take a look (we live about a half mile from their offices). Uke arrived, worked on the drawer problem for about 30 minutes and was able to get it fixed. Wow...really surprised he would take the time, no charge, to help us out. And the piece of clothing isn't ruined - thought we'd have to cut it. Good experience. read more

My wife an I have been working with them for years updating our condo in SF and recently our new home in the Oakland hills. I've been lucky to have gotten to know everyone there well. Uke has been a saint dealing with my quirks, while Matt's superpower "Ability to do anything" came in handy many times in our challenging 1950's home. The installers were the key, Professional, on time, called to let me know the eta, included me on any changes that needed to be made( there were many due to our home) and the installers are not on commission I found out unlike the other companies I had other quotes from. Needed additional shelves and hardware and they delivered faster than expected! Small business, Big results! read more

I did not like that the closet designer didn't come personally to measure the space and talk to me, but I did like that he followed up with us after I told him I was going with someone else. He said he can match their price if that was an issue, but it wasn't for me. I compared designs from 4 companies and went with the most practical closet usage. His had more drawers and not enough hanging space like I wanted. I also don't like going back and forth, so it was more convenient to talk to someone on the spot. read more

Few months back Uke and Matt created and installed an amazing double armoire in our bedroom. It was a particularly hard job because the armoire had to match a pre-existing secular fireplace and make it look as it had always been there. Let me first start by saying that along with BlueMoon Closets I have contacted also a couple of competitors, more chain-like (California Closets, Valet and Closet Factory). The designers of these companies came by with fancy designer softwares, and they all agreed that the only way to keep it in our budget (which was not little, BTW) was to make it the wood WHITE, instead of matching the fireplace. Uke gave me a hand-drawn sketch of his vision and was the only one that loved the project per se, not for the potential income. He also totally advised against making the armoire white as it would have ruined the feeling of the house. He honestly had me at:"My guys will love this project" and even more when the quote came in within our budget. I can't say enough how much I loved working with these guys (communicative, friendly and patient) and how much we love our new armoire. We get complimented about all the time! Thanks guys! read more

We had our closet system installed from these guys. It's a small shop that does stuff like the larger Cal Closets type of places. They custom build the system, so it's not really cheap, but the product is nice. We did our baby closet up and it has lasted for years and we are doing another room. The systems can cost $500- several thousand per closet. We did an ave. closet for just under $900. read more

Very rarely to do you find a company where everyone is so exceptional. From the office staff to the installers to the owner of the company, they do amazing work at a reasonable rate and stand behind their work 100 percent. Though their prices keep rising due to supply chain increases, I'm happy that I chose Blue Moon. I appreciated the kindness, skillfullness, and commitment to a great job by their installers, and the responsiveness of the office staff. I am so happy with the work the Blue Moon team did on my son's closet. From my initial interactions with Yollette, to the drawings supplied by Uke, and then the eventual work done by Tony and Sandra - I really couldn't be happier. On the day of installation, Tony and Sandra arrived right on time, and immediately got to work. They were done an hour earlier than expected, and the finished product exceeded my expectations; it was exactly what I had discussed with Yollette and Uke! Now my son's closet is not only functional, but looks great too. I wouldn't hesitate at all to recommend them and plan on using them for the rest of our closets, and maybe our garage. Great job! read more

My new place doesn't have a under sink cabinet and closet organizer. The sales office of the condo referred the blue moon closet for those jobs. I talked to the owner on the phone few times. He sent his son to measure my unit and then e-mailed me the proposed design. It was a hand drawing but not computer graphed so I was a bit concerned if they were not professional. However when I saw the finished product, I was glad I used their service. The price was very reasonable. They installed a lot for the units in the same condo so I might get the discounted price. It is cheaper than the California closet organizer system. read more

Blue Moon designed and installed a kick ass closet for me! I have been rehabbing my apartment, following rehabbing myself, and the closet was my final thing (for now). Katie came by and scoped the scene (which was in a state of -ahem- disarray), and had design proposals to me later that day. Once scheduled, the install guys were on time, courteous, and cool to hang out with. I had plumbing emergency occur in the middle of the installation, so things got hectic! But they were unfazed and did a great job. Photos to follow, esp. my pride and joy, my WALL OF SHOES, but I can highly recommend Blue Moon for excellent service, product, price point etc.! I love my new closets!!! Blue Moon is an amazing, locally-owned family business that focuses on closets. They are experts in all things closets. Closets have a lifetime warranty and go all the way down to the floor, which is safest in earthquakes. It was easy to get quote and designs within the day. They were easily 50% or more cheaper that other vendors I saw. Yet their materials and workmanship are amazing. Living in an old multi unit in SF, they managed all true weird quirks to make use of every inch. I have so much more storage now in just four tiny closets. read more

I have used Blue Moon twice previously to have closet systems installed in two homes in Marina/Cow Hollow. My house was the first one and was done 15 years ago and has been durable and terrific - no issues. The second install was 8 years ago in a large luxury rental that has been rented 4 times to families and the closets still look brand new. Just a couple of weeks ago Blue Moon installed closets in a Marina full floor flat and I could not be happier. From their design through installation they make things painless. Compared to other closet companies they are more reasonable and have a higher quality product. I highly recommend them. read more

I love my walk in closet! Blue Moon Closets just completed it and it is everything I could want in a closet. I usually am fairly frugal and shop around but after calling another, bigger closet company (that told me that it could take almost 2 months to get my closet completed) and then calling Blue Moon, I made the choice to go with Blue Moon with out getting a competitive bid. I'm happy with the price I paid and feel it is fair. The closet was completed in a timely manner. MOST IMPORTANTLY: this company is a local small business, employing people that live locally and only use materials that were produced locally. If we Americans want to enjoy prosperity in our own country we need to give our business to companies that make their products and employ people in this state and in this country. It's an extra added value that there was no harmful chemicals like formaldehyde used and that there's a low carbon footprint with the wood not being transported more than 300 miles. read more

This is an update to my previous review - our installation is complete and we could not be happier with the result and the experience! Blue Moon made the entire process seamless and easy. The installer, Kai, was really friendly and respectful of our home. I was so curious to see it coming along and Kai was happy to invite me into the closet to view progress throughout the day. I was very happy with the work that Blue Moon did for me. Yollette F. came by my place to take measurements and present all of the different materials that could be used for shelving (from the minimalist but low-cost whiteboard up to the pricy but otherwise beautiful bamboo). She and Uke L followed up the next day and provided estimates for all three of our closets for each of the various shelving qualities, and followed up several times to see if I had any other questions. I got estimates from two other companies, and in the end decided to go with someone else. However, the primary reason I went with another company was because they happened to have a cancellation and were able to complete the project in much less time than it would normally take. Neither Yollette nor Uke made any mistakes along the way; in fact, they did great work, provided a competitive bid for what looked to be very nicely designed closets, and were reasonable (without being pushy) in trying to negotiate to get my business once I told them I was going to use someone else. I would have been perfectly happy to use Blue Moon, and it's quite likely I would have had the other company not had a cancellation that allowed them to do the work a little bit more quickly. Bottom line: overall experience was very positive. They invested a lot of their time coming out to my condo and putting together a comprehensive proposal, and under different circumstances they very well could have gotten the job. read more
